The Indian text called Bakshali manuscript, with 70 leaves of birch bark, fitted with mathematics, and text in Sanskrit. 17 September 2017 11:30 AM: In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Thrissur recorded heavy rains of 118 mm, Kannur 110 mm, Kozhikode 100 mm, Shirali 93 mm, Palakkad 88 mm, and Valparai 88mm. West Godavari district witnessed very heavy rain, with Polavaram registering 13 cm of rain, the highest in the state. Isolated places in East Godavari, Vizianagaram, Nellore and Kadapa also received heavy precipitation. Dowleshwaram in East Godavari district and Vallur in Kadapa district recorded a ran of 8 cm, followed by Merakamudidam, Parvathipuram and Garugubilli of Vizianagaram district, Duvvur, Kamalapuram and Proddutur in Kadapa district and Nellore (7 cm) on Sunday. Korukonda recived 12.32 cm, Gokavaram 11.58cm, Rajanagaram 5.74cm, Seethanagaram 5.32cm, Rajamahendravaram and Urban Mandals 5.24 and 5.16cms, Tuni 1.38 cm. Polavaram battered by rain and villages were inundated. Pattiseema Lift irrigation scheme was sumberged. Sunnalagandi and Ravikamgandi streams are in spate. The night rain washed away several utensils in Polavaram. East Godavari on Sunday at 7:30AM heavy winds rain destroyed trees that have fallen on about 25 houses. Srisilam recorded 17 TMC rain. In Kurnool Sangameswara temple mostly submerged in the Srisailam project. Sep 19, 2017:, 12:39pm: Maria pounds Caribbean island of Dominica. Videos circulating on social media reportedly show the powerful earthquake that shook central Mexico on Tuesday, 19 Sept.2017. They show buildings collapsing in plumes of dust, thousands fleeing into the streets in panic and many staying to help rescue those trapped as the 7.1-magnitude hit at 1:14pm (2:15pm EDT) and was centered near the Puebla state town of Raboso, about 76 miles (123 kilometers) southeast of Mexico City and quake killed at least 149. Dozens of buildings tumbled into mounds of rubble or were severely damaged in densely populated parts of Mexico City and nearby states. The new quake appeared to be unrelated to the magnitude 8.1 temblor that hit September 7 off Mexico’s southern coast and also was felt strongly in the capital.Sep 20, 2017 09:41 IST:

As expected, a rain-driving area has popped up overnight over North-West Bay of Bengal, and, crossed land and shifted base this morning to over Coastal Odisha. This 'low' has been in the making after erstwhile typhoon 'Doksuri' broke up in landfall over the Vietnam coast and a 'remnant pulse' kept travelling ahead in a largely westward direction.
RAINS FOR CENTRAL, NORTH INDIA
The 'pulse' had landed over the North-East Bay of Bengal yesterday after surviving the crisscross over Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar and started building traction in the Bay. From its current location over Coastal Odisha, the 'low' is expected to travel in a west-northwest direction, dropping heavy rain over East India, adjoining Central and contiguous North-West India.

Jakarta, Indonesia: Authorities have raised alert levels for a volcano on the Indonesian resort island of Bali after hundreds of small tremors stoked fears it could erupt for the first time in more than 50 years. Mount Agung, about 75km from the tourist hub of Kuta, has been rumbling since August and officials have banned people from venturing within 7.5km (4.7 miles) of its summit. Sept, 28 2017 09:56:15 IST: Bali: The exodus from a menacing volcano on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali is nearing 100,000 people, a disaster official said Wednesday, as hundreds of tremors from the mountain are recorded daily.

THE NANOSAT FLEET AND IR STUDY: The plan is to send a fleet of 50 small spacecraft, each one weighing about 5 kg (11 lb), on a 3.2 year-journey into the asteroid belt beyond Mars and back again. Each individual craft would perform a flyby of six or seven asteroids from a distance of about 1,000 km (621 mi), using a 4-cm (1.6-in) telescope to image the rock at a resolution of less than 100 m (328 ft) per pixel. A near-infrared spectrometer would also analyse what the asteroid might be made of.The nanosats could gather a great deal of information about the asteroids they encounter during their tour, including the overall size and shape, whether there are craters on the surface or dust, whether there are any moons, and whether the asteroids are primitive bodies or a rubble pile. Each would collect about 10 GB of data, which should take around three hours for the ground team to download. The Nanosat Fleet will be powered by electric solar wind sails (E-sails), which make use of the constant stream of charged particles blasted into space by the Sun. Each of the small spacecraft would be attached to an E-sail by a 20-km (12-mi) tether, which spins to control the orientation the craft.

This is how its weight is reduced and it floats when falls into water.

on Saturday 23 Sept. 2017
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 measured on Richter scale hit Srinagar on Saturday morning at 05:44 a.m. No casualties had been reported yet. The epicentre of the medium intensity reportedly started in Sumbal in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. According to media reports, Geologists said that Jammu and Kashmir lie in a region where seismic activities, or vibrations in the Earth's crust, are high which may lead to frequent tremors. This is the fifth earthquake in India in three months. The tremors were felt across the state. The epicentre is not yet clear.

The epicentre, with a depth of 12.0 km, was initially determined to be at 40.406 degrees north latitude and 126.755 degrees west longitude, Xinhua news agency reported.

Clues to their origin come from studying the distribution of their arrival directions. Using 3 × 10^4 cosmic rays with energies above 8 × 10^18 electron volts, recorded with the Pierre Auger Observatory from a total exposure of 76,800 km^2 sr year, we determined the existence of anisotropy in arrival directions. The anisotropy, detected at more than a 5.2σ level of significance, can be described by a dipole with an amplitude of Embedded Image percent toward right ascension αd = 100 ± 10 degrees and declination δd = Embedded Image degrees. That direction indicates an extragalactic origin for these ultrahigh-energy particles.

TWO BLACK HOLES: Not one but two gigantic black holes lurk at the heart of the distant spiral galaxy NGC 7674, a new study suggests. These two supermassive black holes are separated by less than 1 light-year and together harbor about 40 million times the mass of the sun, researchers said. If it holds up, the find would be just the second known system of double supermassive black holes. The other, announced in 2006, is in a galaxy known as 0402+379, whose two giant black holes are separated by about 24 light-years and boast a combined 15 billion solar masses.

According to the U.S. Library of Congress, it's a phenomenon that has been reported since ancient times. Scientists believe that tornadoes over water, known as waterspouts, could be responsible for sucking fish into the air, where they are blown around until being released to the ground.
