ABSTRACT:
The 3rd and 4th September 2009 weather scenario at the Narasingarao Bay region of coast of Visakhapatnam-530002 and the Srisailam hilly track regions of the Chitoor District region has been one of a puzzling character. While the coast experienced warm to very warm weather with dazzling bright sunlit days the Srisailam region near pavuralagutta (ht.400-500m) has experienced heavy rain with dark, dense and thick clouds. This paper tried to analyse the two different situations from purely a physical point of view and offers the explanation of dust metallic and other ash-like material deposited in the sky due to the Earth Quake of the 3rd September 2009 in the Indonesian Java area. While the Earth Quake power was felt nearly 700km away to the East justifies the model consideration that the particulate ejection had a tremendous upsurge.
Keywords: Weather, Visakhapatnam, Java earth quake, metallic material, lighter material, Srisailam, Pavuralagutta, Narasingarao Bay, Sun spot 1025, Coronal Hole.

INTRODUCTION:

The 3rd and 4th Sept.2009 Visakhapatnam coastal town region of Narasingarao Bay experienced a very warm to warm weather the full two days.[ The latitude is 17deg 42m 9” N and longitude is 83deg 22mins 30” E at Dabagardens of Visakhapatnam as per the ancient astronomy observatory records.] This is surprising since the Bay of Bengal conditions were very conducive to the formation of a Low pressure trough, somewhat unusual for this time of season of Monsoon weather in India. The weather has been one of a very complex nature since just a few hours ago on the 3rd Sept.2009 a Sun Spot No.1025 has occurred and soon disappeared. This has been followed by a Coronal Hole creation on the 3rd Sept.2009. Coronal holes are known to have extended magnetic lines of force that descend down to the Earth’s magnetosphere and create reconnection scenario. These lines of force offer an excellent path way for the ejected charged particles to enter the Earth’s atmosphere. They spiral down to the Earth’s magnetosphere. The interaction between energetic Solar originated particles and the Earth’s magnetosphere particles would eventually interact giving raise to tremendous inputs of energetic other secondary particles into the Earth’s atmosphere. Moreover the disappearance of the Sun spot shouldn’t be taken to mean that its’ effects are not feeble. It must have pushed into the solar surface region very heavy metallic particulates that overburdened the magnetic lines of force of the Sun Spot No.1025 to collapse and as a result this particulate matter got ejected or caught up with the formation of a Coronal Hole. Many photos of the sky were made by the present author to study the occultation and conjunction of the Moon and the planet Jupiter during the days of August 30th, 2009 to to-date. Earth Quake in Shillong Sept 4th ,2009 of 5.9R NE region of early Friday with epicentre at Myanmar-India border, might have also contributed to the weather scenario of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

PRESENT MODEL:
This article offers a model of particulate matter deposition into the region of Srisailam and the Coastal Andhra Pradesh due to the Earth Quake of Indonesia, Java that occurred on the 3rd Sept.2009. Two kinds of material has been skyward ejected that travelled a parabolic path of trajectories that landed them on to the upper reaches of the terrestrial atmosphere of Andhra Pradesh.
The set of heavier material ejected by the Earth Quake of Indonesia contained several heavier metallic entities. As a result the Sun’s solar radiation already affluent with X-ray emissions from the faded Sun Spot No.1025 has produced dazzling bright Sun Light at the coastal Andhra Pradesh of Visakhapatnam. People on these days felt the extreme heat of the Sun.
The other set of material that is apparently a lighter one got deposited in the Srisailam region while the other got deposited on to the Coastal Visakhapatnam upper reaches of atmosphere at a height of anywhere from 90kms to 400km. As a result the lighter material at Srisailam helped to nucleate moisture masses into dense, thick and black water laden heavy clouds. It is easy to surmise that the thickness of these clouds in the vertical direction was of the order of 600-800feet [2]. That’s very unusual and it happened very fast in spite that the West Godavari District was experiencing incessant heavy rain for a couple of the previous days.

PAST HISTORY:
An unprecedented Mega Solar Geo-magnetic Storm occurred on the 2nd September 1859 year as reported by SpaceWeather.com. It released a billion-ton coronal mass ejection that slammed in to Earth’s atmosphere. The glow was so intense people thought it was sunrise time. People in Cuba were able to read Newspapers in the red illumination of aurora borealis. Earth was peppered by particulate matter.

CONCLUSION:
This hints at a possible justification for the Model considerations presented by me.

ABSTRACT:
The Jupiter Moons according to Sky & Telescope magazine have vanished hiding behind the Moon beginning 9:43 to 11:29 p.m PDT on the Wednesday, 2nd September 2009, i.e. 4:43 to 6:29 Universal Time and, 12:43 to 2:29 a.m EDT on the Thursday, 3rd September. 2009. Disappearance and reappearance of the Jupiter moons happened in full over a 11hour period. The present author is more concerned with fractal Airglows’ and the panoramic scenario of the sky during the time of nearness of the Moon and the planet Jupiter. Spetacular and extraordinary photos vividly displaying the multitude of environmental happenings in the Sky have been captured and digitally recorded by several photographs. They yielded a wealth of information some cursorily surmised by the author in this article. It would take months for a complete analysis and understanding the Physics and Chemistry behind the Fractal Airglows and the splendour of the colour of the different sets of clouds The Earth Quake of Indonesia on the 2nd Sept.2009, the Solar wind Impact of August 30th, and the atmospheric conditions of Bay of Bengal conducive for Low pressure formations and wind movements etc. and also the Magnetosphere, Ionosphere, Stratosphere, Exosphere etc layers and their composition have all contributed to the richness of the splendour of the Sky during September 2nd and 3rd, 2009.

INTRODUCTION:

On August 30th, 2009 a giant wave of Solar wind hit the Earth and sprang Auroras, was so bright that they were visible in arctic twilight. During the Month of August & September 2009 the bright Planet Jupiter and the shining Moon have given a romantic pleasure to many a people at Visakhapatnam and this happens to be the Astronomy event closely following the Spectacular partial Solar eclipse observation on the 22nd July 2009 morning hours of Sun rise over the Bay of Bengal. The harvest Moon of 4th September 2009, the Oonam festival of Kerala people, most auspicious days of Sravana month for the Hindus, and Ramzan days for Muslims etc seem to point out an unforgettable Astronomical event of the sky with Jupiter and the Moon on the 2nd-3rd September, 2009.
A sunspot No. 1025 appeared on the Solar Disk breaking the 51-day string of Blank Sun but was small and faded away eventually. The time of Occultation’s, eclipses and transits have been given by spaceweather.com as follows:
2-09-2009 23:28UT Callisto ; 03:44UT occults Io behind Jupiter; 04:46UT Ganymede transit of Jupiter; 04:56UT Europa’s shadow to cross Jupiter; 06:32 UT Io exists eclipsed by Jupiter’s shadow; 06:46 UT Ganymede’s shadow begins to cross Jupiter; 06:50UT Europa ends transit of Jupiter; 07:50UT Europe’s shadow leaves Jupiter Disc; 08:24 UT Ganymede ends transit of Jupiter; 08:44 Callisto exists eclipsed by Jupiter’s shadow.
THE CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER AND THE MOON ON THE 2nd SEPTEMBER 2009 AT 00.56 AM DIGITAL PHOTOS USING DIFFERENT FILTERS BY KLN

The flower bloomed on the early morning 2nd September 2009. The conjunction of Jupiter planet and the Moon at 00.56AM was very enchanting since the entire sky and the surrounding area was full of light and a kind of serenity. Any living organism couldn’t have escaped the excitement and thrill of the early morning scenario of the heavenly sky and definitely would have responded with a triumph of life and liveliness of the astronomical event of exuberance and pleasure. The picture shows the parapet wall of the terrace of the famous house of Visakhapatnam-530002, 17-11-10, Narasimha Ashram, Official Colony, Maharanipeta.P.O, belonging to the younger son’s of late Prof. K. Rangadhama Rao D.Sc.(Madras) D.Sc.(London).The picture taken at 22:33 PM shows the diffuse refracted rays spectrum of the Moon light from the Brown cloud. The brown colour of the cloud (farthest right see below) is also partly due to the Sodium vapour lamps that glitter the night sky of the Visakhapatnam especially near the port and naval dock Yard region. Why that is a particular cloud mass should show up such a colour? Answer to the question is obviously that the massive clouds of this type are loaded with material debris of the giant Solar wind of 30th August 2009 and as well with the dust raised by the Earth Quake of Indonesian region. But otherwise the sky was with white clouds on the Eastern side of coastal Visakhapatnam

Moon and Jupiter at 18:26PM on 2-09-2009 in white clouds on the Eastern side of the evening sky. An Indonesia Earth Quake on 2nd Wednesday 2009 killed many a people in the main land with 7.0R magnitude and the capital Jakarta, devastating the villages close to epicentre in West Java. The power of the quake was felt even at a distance of 700kms on the East. The Dark clouds of the West galloped to the zenith were the heavy water laden clouds which have rained in the Srisailam and West Godavari districts heavily on the 1st, , 2nd and 3rd of Sept 2009. Note the phenomenal DARK BLUE of the sky!!. The reason why they have suddenly appeared in this region of Andhra State is phenomenal of the complex nature of weather conditions as noted by the present author.
ANOTHER EXTRAORDINARY PICTURE (ON THE EXTREME RIGHT) OF THE MOON AND JUPITER PLANET SHOWING THE INTERFERED LIGHT EFFECTS OF THE INDIVIDUAL GLOWS IN THE WHITE CLOUDS SOMEWHAT SMEARED WITH BLACK CONTENT CLOUDS OF THE WESTERN SKY. Photo captured without using any filter. The interference effect of the near glows of the Moon and Jupiter resulted in the production of a light pinkish halo around the Moon.

The High Tension Wires Phenomenon By Dr. Vanka Prasad ARTICLE 4

The High Tension Wires Phenomenon
By
Dr. Vanka Prasad,

Former Director, GSI, Nagpur, India.
(Res). Flat No.405, S.S. Classic Apartments, Near Waltair Bus Depot, Visakhapatnam.
I have followed the TV coverage given on 15th August 2009 evening regarding the claim of a Lava flow in the Ranga Reddi District, Marpalli Mandal, Village outskirts of Kalhod and also the circular solidified liquid picture. It didn’t strike to me that is an outburst of volcanic eruption of Lava of molten rock or debris material.

Figure: Ranga Reddi District, Marpalli Mandal, Kolhod village sivarlu (outskirts), Andhra Bhoomi Newspaper, August 16th,2009 Photo of molten and cooled black Lead material with a deep hole of about 10feet depth.
Usually volcanic lava flow happens with a temperature of about 700 deg Celsius to 1200 deg Celsius. This liquid obviously has not attained such high temperatures. The material being Lead it must have melted around 320 deg Celsius and molten material might have erupted as a fountain flow. After all it measures hardly three feet radius circular ring of outburst thick flow.
I agree with the findings of NGRI scientists that it is merely an outburst of molten liquid probably of Lead material due to the earthing of High Tension Wires.
It’s probable that this region may be consisting of Lime and other mineral rock formations.
I have seen earlier that when very high tension electric wires when they accidently touch the ground the surrounding rocks could melt and subsequently the rocks get cooled very rapidly. This I have found to give rise to needle like structures on the rapidly solidified rocks. (In telugu language they appear almost like the Ommathu-puvvu Kayalu with their protruding thorny needles). Such formations I have seen happening at the top of Seminary Hills of Nagpur City.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT:
I am thankful to Dr.DVNSarma and Prof K.L.Narayana for having visited me on the Thursday 19th, August 2009 and discussed with me regarding the some effects of high tension wires and possible mishaps.

THE INDIRECT USES OF SOLAR ENERGY - PHOTOSYNTHESIS AS AN ENERGY SOURCE* (ARTICLE 5)

THE INDIRECT USES OF SOLAR ENERGY - PHOTOSYNTHESIS AS AN ENERGY SOURCE*

INTRODUCTION:
The one renewable energy source on which mankind has relied since the discovery of fire is PHOTOSYNTHESIS. The term photosynthesis is usually applied to the synthesis of organic matter by Plants using light energy. The process is also called “carbon assimilation”. This process replenishes the reservoir of oxygen in the atmosphere and stores the energy of Sun Light to support the life activities of organism.

MAGNITUDE OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS:
Photosynthesis is a unique biological process confined to green plants and Algae, a few protists and bacteria. Although these organisms form only a part of the biosphere, the sheer magnitude of photosynthetic process, on a worldwide basis, is quite enormous. According to one estimate, there are at least 1.E+10 tons of Carbon fixing organism per year on land and 2 to 4E+10 tons of Carbon fixing organisms in the oceans. An amount of Oxygen equivalent to that present in Earth’s entire atmosphere is produced by Photosynthesis every two years.

PHOTOSYNTHESIS EFFICIENCY:
In recent years, it has been discovered that plants utilise three biochemical systems to convert Sunlight to Chemical; Energy. All higher plant species utilise a biochemical system for the capture of light by Chlorophyll and transfer energy to stable chemical compounds. In some speicies, however,CO2 is reduced to form a three carbon compound (3-phosphoglycerate) and the biochemical system done is referred to as the C 3 for photosynthesis. The sequence was traced by Melvin Calvin and his associates.
Other species that are especially adapted to high temperatures fix CO2 to form a four-carbon compound (Oxalo-acetate) and referred as C 4 system are capable of high rates of CO2 fixation and are generally more tolerant of high temperatures than C 3 plants. They do poorly at cool temperatures. Hatch and Slack traced the sequence of reactions in C 4 pathway.
Many species native to deserts, have evolved a third system for fixing CO2 at night, known as Crassulacean Acid Mechanism (C A M) from the fact that the system was discovered and studied in the Crassulaceae family. The advantage of the system C A M plants can keep their stomata close during day time, periods of high temperatures, and thereby drastically reduce their water loss. Therefore they are particularly well adapted to arid climates.
The system requires a large acid storage capacity and all C A M plants have a large, fleshy, photosynthetic organs. An understanding of a species’ photosynthetic system can be helpful in evaluating whether it should be used in a particular cropping situation or not.
Only a few of the world’s plant species have been characterised as to their photosynthetic systems, however, and more work in characterisation is needed.

MULTIPLE CROPPING AND INTER CROPPING:
Because species differ in their reaction to light, temperature, and water storage, the highest yearly production in many climates will be obtained from a combination of species to adjust and confirm to seasonal variations of weather.. These involves for example, multiple cropping and inter cropping i.e. later-maturing crops planted with early maturing crops so that the former will have a substantial start when the later are harvested.

SOME REMARKS:
The choice of food and fibre plants to be grown is usually governed by tradition, which in turn is usually based on generations of experience with local environmental conditions. A careful assessment of fundamental aspects such as water supply, temperature, light intensity and nutrient supply, should be made if maximum capture and storage of solar energy by plants is to be included among the goals of agriculture.
