THE NANOSAT FLEET AND IR STUDY: The plan is to send a fleet of 50 small spacecraft, each one weighing about 5 kg (11 lb), on a 3.2 year-journey into the asteroid belt beyond Mars and back again. Each individual craft would perform a flyby of six or seven asteroids from a distance of about 1,000 km (621 mi), using a 4-cm (1.6-in) telescope to image the rock at a resolution of less than 100 m (328 ft) per pixel. A near-infrared spectrometer would also analyse what the asteroid might be made of.The nanosats could gather a great deal of information about the asteroids they encounter during their tour, including the overall size and shape, whether there are craters on the surface or dust, whether there are any moons, and whether the asteroids are primitive bodies or a rubble pile. Each would collect about 10 GB of data, which should take around three hours for the ground team to download. The Nanosat Fleet will be powered by electric solar wind sails (E-sails), which make use of the constant stream of charged particles blasted into space by the Sun. Each of the small spacecraft would be attached to an E-sail by a 20-km (12-mi) tether, which spins to control the orientation the craft.
September 21, 2017: Jagatsinghpur district to see ‘floating’ rocks. The local residents have encircled the floating stones weighing around 3.5 kg and 2 kg with netted wires to limit its movement. It could be pumice which is hardened form of lava. After volcanic eruptions, air and water get into the molten lava which gets trapped after it cools down to take the shape of a stone. This is how its weight is reduced and it floats when falls into water.

22 Sep 2017: Science; Vol. 357, Issue 6357, pp. 1266-1270: Observation of a large-scale anisotropy in the arrival directions of cosmic rays above 8 × 10^18eV: ABSTRACT: Cosmic rays are atomic nuclei arriving from outer space that reach the highest energies observed in nature. Clues to their origin come from studying the distribution of their arrival directions. Using 3 × 10^4 cosmic rays with energies above 8 × 10^18 electron volts, recorded with the Pierre Auger Observatory from a total exposure of 76,800 km^2 sr year, we determined the existence of anisotropy in arrival directions. The anisotropy, detected at more than a 5.2σ level of significance, can be described by a dipole with an amplitude of Embedded Image percent toward right ascension αd = 100 ± 10 degrees and declination δd = Embedded Image degrees. That direction indicates an extragalactic origin for these ultrahigh-energy particles.

TWO BLACK HOLES: Not one but two gigantic black holes lurk at the heart of the distant spiral galaxy NGC 7674, a new study suggests. These two supermassive black holes are separated by less than 1 light-year and together harbor about 40 million times the mass of the sun, researchers said. If it holds up, the find would be just the second known system of double supermassive black holes. The other, announced in 2006, is in a galaxy known as 0402+379, whose two giant black holes are separated by about 24 light-years and boast a combined 15 billion solar masses.

Deep in a vat built few metres underground, the dark hue froths, foams and ferments. Inside its cavernous bottom, lies a colour. And a story as old as time itself. Indigo traces its roots way back to the Indus Valley Civilization, which cradled the first cities of the world. Family-run setup comprises two underground vats filled with water. It is here that they dip in chunks of solidified raw indigo (sourced from Tamil Nadu) till the solution ferments over weeks, ready only when it “looks green enough”, or “tastes sour enough”. 26 Sept. 2017: Officials in northeast Mexico say a light rain was accompanied by small fish that fell from the sky.  The civil defence agency for the state of Tamaulipas said in a brief statement that rain Tuesday in the coastal city of Tampico included fish. Photos posted on the agency's Facebook page show four small fish in a bag and another on a sidewalk. According to the U.S. Library of Congress, it's a phenomenon that has been reported since ancient times. Scientists believe that tornadoes over water, known as waterspouts, could be responsible for sucking fish into the air, where they are blown around until being released to the ground.

ABSTRACT
The Nano-filtered sun spectra colours of the films TiO2 and next the film TiO plus Yellow Colour were recorded for a comparative study.

DETAILS

The Nano-filtered spectra is a genuine new study hereto not reported in literature. The Nano-coated plastic film  transparent in the bright Sun-Light gives immensely interesting spectra. The record is made in the morning time when Sun rays are straight forward incident on the plastic film coated on two parts one pure TiO2 and the other with TiO2 plus the Yellow Colour. Contrasting pictures reveal outstanding features.
The Nano-coated plastic film with left side Pure TiO2 and right side TiO2 plus Yellow Colour.

Fig.1 The Nano-plastic film coated with TiO2
and TiO2 plus the Yellow Colour.

Fig.2 WP_20170807_17_04_35_Pro1
The spectrum of TiO2 coating reveals the bright  blue and very faint yellow and finally the bright red colours.
Fig.3 WP_20170807_17_04_35_Pro2
This spectrum of TiO2 and the Yellow Colour coating, reveals the faint blue, with faint green and contrastingly bright yellow with mesmerizing orange and the red colours.
Fig.4 Sun Spectrum: Photo1214
The Sun spectra recorded direct shows the spattered spectrum of all the seven bright colours of the VIBGYOR. The bright Sun light has smeared out the details of the solar spectrum considerably.

RESULTS:
The significant result is that plastic film transparent in the centre shows the bright sun light. But the spectra for the two cases one with just TiO2 coating and the other with TiO2 plus the Yellow Colour significantly different. Mesmerizing Orange colour appears in the second case of TiO2 and the Yellow Colour. The spectral wavelengths could easily be gauged out. Spread out of the colours was a consequence of the slit width which is very high, chosen so that the spectral features become very much evident.

The laser camera has started operating in its underground facility stretching 3.4km beneath the German city of Hamburg. An X-ray camera so powerful it can capture images of individual atoms and make movies of chemical reactions has begun operating today. The X-Ray Free-Electron Laser (XFEL) can flash 27,000 laser beams per second; each one a billion times brighter than that of conventional X-Ray sources, as X-rays have a wavelength of 0.8 nanometres, almost 500 times shorter than visible light. The powerful X-ray laser is generated from an electron beam directed through a special superconducting linear accelerator. In a 2.1km-long section of tunnel, the electron pulses are accelerated to near-light speed before entering a tunnel containing a 210m stretch of X-ray generating devices. It is here that the 17,290 permanent magnets with alternating poles, known as undulators, interact with the electron pulses. These undulators are used to bring the electrons into a "slalom" course and with every change of direction the electrons release extremely short-wavelength X-ray radiation, which intensifies along the length of the undulator stretch.

HISTORY OF INDIA
A cache of Roman gold and silver mintage as “eight coolie-loads”, at 20,000 coins per porter. Clearly India’s appetite for precious metals–and cash-only trade—go back a long way! The sheer abundance of coins (Vellalore in Tamil Nadu has yielded the most so far) shows that the balance of trade was in India’s favour—said to be to the tune of 60 million sesterces in Nero’s time! The Roman world imported 120 items from here, including pepper, indigo, sandalwood, muslin, beryl, ivory, glass beads, peacocks and even the famed south Indian ‘ukku’ steel. India wanted only 30 items, including coral, horses, wine and olive oil. In ancient times, the wine growing region for Rome was Tuscany, thanks to the Etruscan culture. So it is very possible that 2,000 years before “Super Tuscans” arrived in India, wines made from ancestors of the modern Sangiovese grape, tickled the palates of the ancient Indian elite. And perhaps olive oil—probably sourced from the Roman colonies of Hispania and North Africa—was massaged into many an aristocratic Indian limb at the time! Not only did South Indian rulers sent delegations to Roman emperors from Augustus and Trajan to Hadrian, Constantine and Justinian, there is evidence in Sangam literature that there were large communities of Roman merchants in places like Madura. All of which points to extensive links between India and Rome that began with trade but possibly deepened into something more permanent, at least for some of those foreigners.:

Hurricane Irma Barrels Toward Caribbean, Southern United States: In preparation for the storm, the government of economically struggling Puerto Rico declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard on Monday. A Category 4 hurricane on the five-step Saffir-Simpson scale means sustained winds of 130-156 mph (209-251 kph) with "catastrophic" outcomes, including uprooted trees and downed power lines, water and electricity outages, and significant property damage causing uninhabitable conditions. Irma also threatens the U.S. East Coast and Florida, which declared a state of emergency on Monday night. The hurricane center expects Irma to reach southern Florida on Saturday. Irma, a Category 5 storm, made its first landfall in the Caribbean early Wednesday. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 185 mph, putting it near the highest on record. President Donald Trump declared emergencies in Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, while authorities in the Bahamas said they would evacuate six southern islands. Irma's path couldn't be precisely predicted. It is expected to pass near Puerto Rico sometime Wednesday, then move toward the Florida coast over the weekend. Southeast Florida could be in the eye of the storm by Sunday morning. Irma's sustained winds of 185 mph inched toward the highest on record.

SOLAR STORMS: The Solar storms that produce the Northern Lights may have been to blame for last year's stranding of 29 sperm whales on beaches in the UK and other countries around the North Sea. The high-energy particles released towards the Earth during a Solar storm "deform the Earth's magnetic field". These particles also produce the famous Northern Lights - and can interfere with communications systems, satellites and cause power blackouts. A few weeks before the whales washed up, a Norwegian measuring station near Shetland recorded changes in the magnetic field intensity and inclination in the area.

A tornado hit the aqua ponds near Akiveedu village of West Godavari district creating panic among people of the surrounding areas. The tornado, which appeared around 5.30 pm on Tuesday has lasted for over ten minutes. It's whirlwind covered nearly entire aqua ponds situated 2 km from Akiveedu village and lasted for ten minutes. Due to the tornado, huts on the ponds got damaged and fish crates flew all over the place due to water rising in a whirlpool. The village was hit by tornado only last week. Surprisingly neither IMD nor APSDRS were not aware of the incident before it's happening. If the tornado hit villages, causalities and damage to properties could have been more, fear villages. This is the third time tornado is hitting the area. Last week, tornado damaged a few huts on the fish ponds. Some villagers have captured the tornado on video.  Earlier last year during this season, tornado has hit the Akiveedu area. Tornadoes are now become common to the rice bowl district of Andhra Pradesh.

It is simple a linear process, the measurements should be perfect. For making wine, the jackfruit  bulbs are cut into small pieces, boiled and then ground. Sugar syrup is made separately and set aside. For every 2 kg of bulb, use about 500gms of sugar. After adding warm water, 3 litres, to the ground bulbs, sugar syrup and yeast is added for fermentation. This concoction is then kept in a mud pot at a dark place for 18 days. Finally, the top part of the liquid is filtered out for the wine. The CFTRI directed to use some minor corrections and adjust to improve the final product.
