The High Tension Wires Phenomenon
By
Dr. Vanka Prasad,

Former Director, GSI, Nagpur, India.
(Res). Flat No.405, S.S. Classic Apartments, Near Waltair Bus Depot, Visakhapatnam.
I have followed the TV coverage given on 15th August 2009 evening regarding the claim of a Lava flow in the Ranga Reddi District, Marpalli Mandal, Village outskirts of Kalhod and also the circular solidified liquid picture. It didn’t strike to me that is an outburst of volcanic eruption of Lava of molten rock or debris material.

Figure: Ranga Reddi District, Marpalli Mandal, Kolhod village sivarlu (outskirts), Andhra Bhoomi Newspaper, August 16th,2009 Photo of molten and cooled black Lead material with a deep hole of about 10feet depth.
Usually volcanic lava flow happens with a temperature of about 700 deg Celsius to 1200 deg Celsius. This liquid obviously has not attained such high temperatures. The material being Lead it must have melted around 320 deg Celsius and molten material might have erupted as a fountain flow. After all it measures hardly three feet radius circular ring of outburst thick flow.
I agree with the findings of NGRI scientists that it is merely an outburst of molten liquid probably of Lead material due to the earthing of High Tension Wires.
It’s probable that this region may be consisting of Lime and other mineral rock formations.
I have seen earlier that when very high tension electric wires when they accidently touch the ground the surrounding rocks could melt and subsequently the rocks get cooled very rapidly. This I have found to give rise to needle like structures on the rapidly solidified rocks. (In telugu language they appear almost like the Ommathu-puvvu Kayalu with their protruding thorny needles). Such formations I have seen happening at the top of Seminary Hills of Nagpur City.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT:
I am thankful to Dr.DVNSarma and Prof K.L.Narayana for having visited me on the Thursday 19th, August 2009 and discussed with me regarding the some effects of high tension wires and possible mishaps.
