ABSTRACT

                   The fragments of DNA neither belong to Neanderthal nor Denisovan nor even to most of contemporary human groups. Natural selection acting on genes determines the height of short statures of Jarawa and Onge people. Rushikonda beach in Visakhapatnam moves forward and backwards due to the winds and gales and its movement is not related to the Full moon or the No Moon days affect. The affect noticed on the sea shore facing the RK Mission as well on the 5 August 2016. Huge region around the centre of Milky Way is devoid of young stars, projects the newer concept of how galaxy is evolved. On 8 August, the flood situation in Assam improved with 34 people have died though Brahmaputra tributary’s Dhansiri flowing above danger mark. Heavy to very heavy rain occurred in Rajasthan, with Kota recording 19 cm, Aklera 16 cm rains. Punjab and Haryana too received heavy showers.  7 August 2016, in Jammu the river Tawi after heavy rain flooded on Sunday.                    Varanasi the pilgrim town and the Ganga River of very fast flow, has several ghats of observation and enjoyment of its flow. It is reported that Varanasi only two ghats are allowed for burning of the dead bodies, but should be burnt totally and the remaining ashes may be immersed in the middle of the River. She spent from 25 July to 3 August in and around the city of Varanasi, during along with purohits who visited Varanasi along with her and at her utmost guidance. The main priest of 86 old was very concerned of her welfare.

       It was raining in Visakhapatnam since morning on 1 August 2016, as a drizzle.

                  Guwahati 310 animals including 221 hog deer and 21 one-horned rhinos (ten were calves), in Kaziranga National Park lost their lives due to devasting floods of Assam from July 25 this year. Animal mortality was highest in 2012. About 106 animals saved with the help of local residents. Water was receding fast and out of 130 inundated camps, only 70 were currently under water. Rhinos were straying across NH-37.

2 August 2016

                    Heavy overnight rains lashed south and east central Gujarat. Heavy rains lash south Gujarat causing flash floods; 5 dead. Auranga River in Valsad was flowing above danger level, due to incessant rains, flooding three villages situated in low-lying areas along its bank. In south Gujarat, Valsad received 245 mm rainfall in 24 hours till this morning, Navsari 96 mm, Dangs 104 mm of rainfall. Chhota Udepur in east-central Gujarat received 28 mm rainfall. The state has received 299.27 mm rainfall, or 37.55 per cent of average rainfall.

                   

 HEAVY RAINS IN GUJARAT

                  Heavy rains caused flash floods lashed south and east central Gujarat about 5 people died. Flood like situation in Valsad, Navasari and Surat districts, on Tuesday. Anurag river flowing above danger mark, and Valsad received 245 mm rainfall in 24 hours till Tuesday morning, Navsari received 96 mm Dang 104 mm total state received 292.27 mm rainfall. Anuraga river flowing at 11.5 m about one metre above danger mark about dozen villages affected. Vapi also flowing near danger mark. Cyclonic circulation over Gujarat over 3.1 to 3.6 km above sea level causing rains.

MUMBAI-GOA bridge disaster

     A bridge to Goa collapsed at midnight Wednesday, 3 August, throwing of several cars, a three wheeler and two buses into the river flowing to the sea, and only 21 bodies recovered as on Friday. Raigad fears that about 42 people died in the mishap.

KRISHNA AND GODAVARI WOULD SWELL
                     Central government gave a warning that the two Rivers Krishna and Godavari would swell from 4 to 7 days. Maharashtra, Karanataka, Telangana  have been warned, by central government that the Rivers Krishna and Godavari would swell since the projects have become full and hence the water may be released to lower states. Handwoven silks a pride of Varanasi

        The handwoven saree sells around Rs.10,000\- or more and finer the creation was sold for thousands of dollars. According locals there were over a lakh hand looms in Varanasi till about 10 to 12 years ago. But, now the number has dwindled to 25,000 to 30,000 looms. There are about 70,000 hand looms around Varanasi today. At one time it was worth 80 million dollars in exports. No exports and hence the craft dwindled. It takes 12 to 15 days for a saree to be completed. It fetches only Rs.200 to Rs.250 per day while power loom fetches anywhere from Rs.500 to Rs.600/-per day. Many shifting to ‘chai wala’ trade. 4 August 2016

             Major flooding in Beijing after the heaviest rain storm in 60 years.  At least 25 people drowned in Saturday's rains, the heaviest in the capital since records began in 1951. Six died in housing collapses, five were electrocuted and one person was struck by lightning. The same storm left another 17 people dead and 21 missing in the neighbouring province of Hebei, the China News Service said. In the worst-hit district of Fangshan, on the mountainous southwestern outskirts of China's sprawling capital, residents described how roads flooded in minutes, submerging vehicles and destroying houses.

Temperatures in Andhra

WATER FLOWS IN ANDHRA

     Alimetta (23 gates lifted) and Narayanapura (25 gates lifted) floods and Jurala dam 13 gates lifted relieved 1.25 cusecs water from Krishana River and by Friday Rayalseema would get water. Crest level touched Srisailam water level. Slightly enhanced Godavari River flow causing anxiety.

4 August 2016 

           MIAMI AND MEICO CITY 16 hours ago: The National Hurricane Centre in Miami revealed the Category 1 storm is pushing west at 14 mph (23 kph), resulting in hurricane warnings issued in Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico south to the Belize – Guatemala boarder. Tropical storm warnings have been put in place North of Puerto Costa Maya up to Punta Allen, Mexico. Despite being reduced to a tropical storm, Earl is expected to still cause damage as it moves along. Flooding and landslides in higher terrain areas of Belize is also expected while certain areas of Mexico could receive up to 18 inches of rain, which could result in life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.

MUMBAI HEAVY RAINS 4 and 5 August 2016

             Heavy rains since morning flooded many parts of Mumbai, disrupting rail and road traffic as well as flights, officials said. The downpour led to water-logging in parts of south and central Mumbai as well as eastern and western suburbs, leading to major traffic jams in the morning peak hour. Traffic crawled at a snail's pace on major thoroughfares like Eastern Express and Western Express highways and major north-south roads, delaying tens of thousands. Suburban train services on western railway, central railway and harbour line ran 15-30 minutes late. The central railway was hit due to flooded tracks near Sion-Kurla. The cascading effect affected the other two lines. Besides Mumbai, the adjoining districts of Thane, Palghar and Raigad were also lashed by heavy rains, slowing traffic on all major routes linking Mumbai with Ahmedabad, Pune, Nashik and Goa

 5 August 2016

       Rain in Visakhapatnam was just a sprinkle but continued all the three days with no full Sun shine at all.

        Flood situation in Assam eases with floodwaters receding on Friday 5 August, with water levels of Brahmaputra and its tributaries falling down even as 1.27 lakh people in ten districts remained affected by the calamity.

         Bihar flood toll climbs to 89 overall in 14 districts, about 33 lakh people were hit by the flood. Purnia district reported maximum number of deaths about26, followed by 23 in Araria, 15 in Katihar, eight in Supaul and five in Krishnaganj.    

           Heavy rain in Mumbai disrupted normal life on 5 August, with suburban services disturbed due to water logging. Konan and Central Maharashtra facing the brunt in next 24 hours.

        The Hurricane Earl brought down a bridge at Menchor de Mencos due to heavy rains on Thursday 4 August 2016, and Guntemalan emergency committee inspected it.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY 6 and 7 August 2016: 

                   Nagavali in spate hits Cashew nut wagers held more than 12 hours on Saturday evening, they were rescued by police and fire officials on Sunday morning. It was brimming owing to heavy rains in catchment area during the last few days. They were hired to apply fertilizers to cashew nut and sugarcane farms. About 28 labourers living in make shift tents in the orchards. They were anxious throughout night of Saturday, since only nine new swimming and others stranded were afraid in the night that they may be washed away as the water level rose. They were saved on Sunday morning.

FLOOD HIT BIHAR: 

                Surrounded by Kosi’s  water, with all roads submerged for several days, by rain water villagers of Banahi Tola, about 50 km from Saharsa in Salakhuna block, have been forced eat only cooked rats report on Sunday 7 August. Dalit Musahar community impoverished people, flood made life miserable. Every day they hunt 12 kg of rats during the floods and sell them Rs.40 a kilogram. Handpumps out of order there is no safe drinking water. District manager pleaded ignorance. Riveine belt is very rich and so people have not moved out.

Aug 7: Storm, which caused flash floods in Macedonia capital Skopje, has killed at least 20 people, media reports said on Sunday. Their bodies were found before 8:30 (06:30 GMT) on Sunday, an official was quoted as saying by BBC.Six people are still missing.According to reports, several people were drowned in their cars while several cars were swept away into nearby fields.

7 & 8 AUGUST 2016

          It was a cloudy weather on the 7, but on 8 it cleared giving glimpses of the Sun shine very hot.

        The day temperature rose up to 36.2C (27.5C) it was simmering hot throughout the day in the mid-day there were hot winds blowing. Both the states have increased hot Sun from Monday morning. Sudden increase of two to three degrees higher temperatures were noticed on Monday. (Hyderabad 32.4C(22.5C), Kakinada 36.5C(26.5C), Kadapa 37C(25C), Guntur 37.5C(26C), Chittoor 37.6C(28C) and Ongole 38.2C(28.2C).

            Heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in the Northern States of the country. Poor people drink water from a tap at the flooded bank in Allahabad on Tuesday, 9 August.

10 August 2016 EAST INDIA GOOD RAINS

                A deep depression which is now lying over South Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal. This system is expected to move in a northwest direction during next 24 hours. Moreover, it is also likely to weaken and lose strength gradually. Good rains have been lashing Gangetic West Bengal, coastal parts of Odisha and parts of Bihar. During last 24 hours, Gaya received 10 mm of rainfall and Patna 14 mm. Supaul also received 22 mm of rains. Kolkata in West Bengal received 22.7 mm of rainfall. In Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur received 1.8 mm of rainfall while Bahraich received 7.2 mm. As soon as the deep depression moves inland, it will weaken and start moving faster. Initially, rain intensity will increase over Jharkhand and then Bihar. Light to moderate rains will be observed over many parts of Bihar and Jharkhand. Gradually, the rain belt will cover east Uttar Pradesh. The axis of the Monsoon trough will further move northwards. 

11 August 2016
              Very dry weather, cloudy but no rain at Visakhapatnam, contrasting Y'Day weather extremely hot. Forecast for Aug 11: Heavy rains in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, light rain in Delhi.
                Pathankot in Himachala Pradesh, 44 years old bridge collapsed due to heavy rains of the past few days in Kangra Village on Thursday 11 August afternoon. About 160 meters length, with about 10 pillars supporting it, nearly 76 meters bridge has collapsed. Himachala Pradesh several villages and traffic towards Punjab got disoriented. 
12 August 
           Temperature at Visakhapatnam was very intense and till 4.30 PM it continued to be hot. Luckily in the evening it was not hot. Varalakshmi Day on 12 August, was celebrated by all people with great reverence and purchased several items of the Devi Puja, in the market in the evening of 11 August, and market was very brisk.

         Heavy showers on Friday may have given Delhiites respite from the muggy weather but brought the city to a standstill with snarls and waterlogging reported from several areas of the national capital. According to the met department, the city recorded 35mm rain between Thursday and Friday evening. It brought down the temperature with the maximum settling at 33 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius, one notch below average.

          At least one dead, two injured as rains pound U.S. Gulf Coast; August 13, 2016: Two counties, Pike and Amite, were experiencing flash and river flooding after being inundated with more than 10 inches (25.4 cm) of rain since midnight.

         A flash flood watch and flood warnings for eastern regions of the state, including New Orleans, and southern Mississippi. Over 17 inches (43 cm) of rain had battered parts of Louisiana by Saturday morning, with another several inches expected later in the day and on Sunday. BATON ROUGE, La. (Reuters) - Torrential rainfall along the U.S. Gulf Coast has caused "unprecedented" flooding in parts of Louisiana, on Saturday, while claiming at least two lives across the region. 14 August
            Heavy rain at Visakhapatnam, thrilled people and on 14 August 2016 also weather is somewhat cloudy but no rain in the morning. My friend S S Bhide, from Mumbai, Chunnabhatti area informed me the Mumbai rain this year was only moderate but not the usual heavy downpour. Northern States still continued of heavy rains and Ganga and Yamuna Rivers overflowing in Ahmedabad.

SANSKRIT DEPARTMENT OF AU
             Job opportunities being dismally few many students refrain joining the Sanskrit Department, which has presently three regular staffers, two guest faculty, two post-doctoral fellows, and four fellowship holders who engage the classes. Madam K. Gayathri Devi, Principal of AU colleges of Arts reports as a news item in The Indian Express Paper.
     During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, 14 August 2016, Lucknow recorded a whopping 91.3 mm of rainfall. Minimum temperatures have also taken a dip and are currently settling at 23.2 degrees. 
      The water levels in the Yamuna River have breached the danger levels after a barrage in Haryana discharged water. The incident has caused the Delhi Government to deploy flood and disaster management teams as well. The old Yamuna Bridge also known as the Loha pul has been closed to traffic. The water level at the Yamuna River was above the warning levels of 204 metres Cusecs of water was released from Hathini Kund Bridge in Haryana. 

15 August 2016

It was drizzling in Visakhapatnam continuously since 11.00 AM. Weather has become quite cold. Only slight rainfall on the Independence Day at Delhi.

ABSTRACT

              Rains lashed Uttara Pradesh, with several land slips and Uttarkashi, Nainital, Tehri and Pauri districts, on Saturday, 16 July, 12 people died in land slip and rain-related road accidents. Sunday evening about 442 roads got blocked. Visakhapatnam experienced on Sunday 17, July 2016 heavy rain from 8.15 to 9.15 AM and later for an hour it rained lightly. But after 10 AM the Sun blaze has set in the evening till 6 PM the hot weather continued.            There was no letup in flood misery in Madhya Pradesh and Assam with the number of deaths climbing to 17 today while heavy rains lashed parts of Rajasthan as the Northern Limit of Monsoon crossed Jodhpur. Heavy rains lashed parts of Rajasthan today with Relmagra in Rajsamand district receivING 23 cm rainfall. Mavli town of Udaipur received 17 cm rains while Kapasan (Chittorgarh), Bundi and Bharatpur recorded 10, 9 and 7 cm respectively. Light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places in Pilani, Sriganganagar, Jaipur, Udaipur divisions and isolated areas in Kota, Ajmer and Bharatpur divisions.

            Lightning kills three women in Bihar while two others sustained burn injuries when lightning struck in Jamui district, when the victims were transplanting paddy saplings, on Saturday July 16, in rain-related incidents. With flood situation remained critical in Assam, with over 1.88 lakh people reeling under the impact of deluge in six districts of the state. More than 300 villages have been affected by floods, with 16,240 hectares of crop under water and standing crops have been flattened. While heavy rainfall in Karauli district of Rajasthan led to deluge-like conditions. Delhi also had rains resulting in traffic jams on busy streets.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 struck eastern Japan on Sunday and shook buildings in Tokyo, officials and witnesses said, but there was no danger of a tsunami and no immediate report of injuries or major damage. The US Geological Survey (USGS) put the epicentre of the quake 44 km (27 miles) northeast of Tokyo at a depth of about 44 km. There were no were immediate reports of damage. Broadcaster NHK reported that the Tokai No. 2 nuclear power station, which has been shut since 2011, was checked for damage after the quake but none was found. EARTHQUAKE PAKISTAN

An earthquake has hit the city of Lahore in northern Pakistan, witnesses said. The epicentre of the 4.4 magnitude quake was located about 37km southwest of Lahore, at a depth of 10 km. Waqas Habib Rana, a resident of Lahore said the earthquake was "very intense" and might have caused damage. "I could hear horrific noises coming out of the ground like the earth was going to split open. I hope everyone is safe," he said. Tremors of magnitude 4.6 R were felt at India(Punjab)-Pakistan border region at 5.24 PM and jolted Lahore, Sheikhupura and several other areas of Pakistan.

GUJARAT

                Mild Earthquake shook Gujarat, at 4.7 R magnitude, recorded at 9.24 AM with epicentre at 24 km north-northwest of Surat in a diameter of about 50 km.  b Aftershock of magnitude 2.3 R was also felt at 11:23 AM with epicentre at 25 km East South-East of Bhavnagar.

               Visakhapatnam experienced on Sunday 17, July 2016 heavy rain from 8.15 to 9.15 AM and later for an hour it rained lightly. But after 10 AM the Sun blaze has set in the evening till 6 PM the hot weather continued. Visakhapatnam on Monday experienced severe Sun throughout the day.  Tirumala had rain on Sunday 17 July, at 6.30PM and sustained for 15 minutes and it increased the cold weather after the rain. Amarnath yatra people got disappointed since the Himalingam got melted away, it sustained from July 2 in about 13 days. The hillock of 130 feet height had originally the 20 feet Siva Linga last year in May it was 18 feet height but this year it was only 10 feet height that melted away on July 15.

NORTH INDIA RAINS

        Heavy rains lashed Uttarkhands’, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Tehri and Pauri districts, on Saturday, 16 July, 12 people died in land slip and rain-related road accidents. Sunday evening about 442 roads got blocked, including Rishikesh-Badrinath national high way and the Rishikesh-Kedrnath national high way, and several bridges got damaged. A threat loomed over Haridwar on Sunday as Ganga reached 293.2 m against danger mark of 294 m. The Bhagirathi at Uttarkashi remained at 112 m like Saturday which was 2m below danger mark. The Sharada at Champawat was flowing at 221.10m which is only 0.6m below its danger mark.

MAHABHARATA

        Specifies many instances where Rishis diverted course of Rivers for public good. The free flow of River is termed nadi snana. Krishna River enters the state near Muktyala (Jaggiapeta), and distance between Muktayalaand Ferry, where Godavari joins Krishna, is around 63 km. Visakhapatnam:

HEAVY RAINS AND FLOODS ON SUNDAY

Brahamaputra flowing above danger mark, Golaghat worst hit with 61,000 people affected. 13,000 hectares of crop area inundated. About 20 people died in the rain-related mishaps. Heavy rain lashed Rajasthan, in Bharatpur, Karauli, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur and Alwar districts. In MP, Rivers in Bhind and Sheopur Kalan are in spate. Major rivers in Bihar, especially Kusi, Gandak, Bhagmati and the Ganges are in spate, following heavy rains in the upper reaches areas. Waist deep water in the outskirts of Agartala on Monday July 18.

         19 July it rained sparingly and weather was sufficiently cool in Visakhapatnam.

        Cloudy weather and subdued sun light, but no rain in spite in the evening from 3.30 PM to 5.30 PM it was a very thick cloudy atmosphere with low visibility.

EARTH QUAKE         

                 At 22:31 PM on Friday, 22 July 2016 the Katmandu experienced an earth quake of magnitude 3.7 R. A mild tremor measuring 3.7 on the Richter Scale hit the outskirts of Nepal’s capital of Kathmandu on Friday as aftershocks of the Gorkha earthquake continued to jolt the country after a year. The epicentre of the aftershock was located in Kirtipur, 7km south from the centre of the capital city, according to the National Seismological Centre. The tremor was recorded at 2.40 PM local time and was felt in and around Kathmandu.

China Floods and RAIN    

              Over 52,000 houses collapse, 1.60 lakh houses damaged, over seven lakh hectares of crops destroyed; direct economic losses of over 15 billion yuan ($2.2 billion). As many as 225 people have been killed or missing in heavy torrential rain and floods in China as thousands of angry residents took to the streets over late disaster warning and ineffective rescue efforts. Local authorities have evacuated nearly 3.10 lakh people due to rainstorms this week that have flattened homes and caused huge economic losses. The toll in heavy rains this week mounted to 105 people dead and 104 others listed missing in north China's  Hubei Province, state-run Xinhua news agency reported on Saturday July 23, 2016.

Crop damage, house collapse

                 Flooding and rain-triggered landslips have caused the collapse of more than 52,000 houses and damage to 1.60 lakh houses. The worst-hit area was reported to be Xingtai city where at least 25 people were killed and another 13 missing, including children, after which people took to the streets to protest over inadequate rescue efforts. The news of heavy casualties in Xingtai, just 400 km south of Beijing, only began emerging over the past 24 hours when thousands of local residents took to streets to protest against the allegedly late disaster warning and ineffective rescue efforts, the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported on Saturday 23 July.

12 villages submerged

                 Floodwaters burst river banks and submerged at least 12 villages. Daxian village is one of the worst-hit, where at least nine people, including five schoolchildren, are dead or missing, the Post quoted media reports. It said authorities in Xingtai initially denied any casualties. Angry villagers blocked a main road on Friday, accusing local government of failing to alert them about the flooding. FLOODS IN ASSAM AND ARUNACHAL PRADESH

      The flood situation in north eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam deteriorated on Sunday with death of one person and flood water inundating new areas. In Assam, one person died in Lakhimpur while around 6.5 lakh people remain affected in 14 districts of the state. While the southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Sub ­Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and active over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, scattered rains were observed in several parts of the national capital. The showers kept the temperature in the comfortable levels in New Delhi though high relative humidity caused discomfort to people.
              The maximum temperature recorded in the national capital was 35 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at 28.4 degrees, both a notch above the normal. In Arunachal Pradesh, with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places, the flood situation deteriorated in several districts as new areas got inundated and over 100 families rendered homeless. The Noa-Dehing River has flooded the entire Lekang circle while entire Namsai Township and its adjoining villages, mostly under Piyong circle, are badly affected.The water in Noa-Dehing and Jengthu rivers is flowing above the danger mark, a report from Namsai said. The flood situation under Chongkham circle also remains grim as the water level of the Lohit, Kamlang, Berreng, Tengapani rivers and its tributaries are rapidly increasing. The worst affected areas are Gunanagar, Alubari, Injo, Insa, Pangkhao and Kherem. Neighbouring West Bengal on Sunday witnessed heavy rainfall at many places with Bagdogra recording 27.98 cm precipitation, Cooch Behar 8.86 cm, and Jalpaiguri 7.53 cm. Meanwhile, the MeT office in Uttarakhand issued a warning of likelihood of heavy to very heavy rains in few areas with extremely heavy fall at isolated places over Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Almora, Champawat and Udhamsingh Nagar districts over the next 72 hours starting on Monday morning. It has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over remaining districts of the state in the period.

          The Brahmaputra and several of its tributaries on Sunday inundated more areas across the state, taking the number of affected people to over 6.5 lakh in 16 districts. With one death reported from Lakhimpur district, the death toll in the current floods has risen to four. Official reports said the Brahmaputra was flowing above the danger level in Dibrugarh, Nimatighat (Jorhat), Tezpur, Goalpara and Dhubri, while major tributaries that continued to submerge fresh areas included the Subansiri (in Lakhimpur), Dhansiri (in Golaghat), Jia-Bharali (in Sonitpur), Puthimari (in Kamrup), Beki (in Barpeta) and Sonkosh (in Dhubri).

           Jorhat and Dhemaji districts remained the most affected on Sunday, with reports putting the number of affected people in both districts at above one lakh each. The situation also remained grim in Lakhimpur, Tinsukia, Golaghat, Bongaigaon, Sivasagar, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Chirang, Kamrup, Goalpara, and Dhubri. The Brahmaputra on Sunday embankments in several places in Jorhat and Nagaon districts, while the Kamalabari ferry-ghat in Majuli island was also severely damaged. The authorities have imposed a ban on plying of all kinds of vessels including fishing boats on the Brahmaputra in view of the increasing water level

         Over 21,000 people have been provided shelter in 81 relief camps, with Chirang (8,800) and Dhubri (5,000) accounting for the highest number of displaced persons. Floods have also damaged over 46,000 hectare of standing crops, while over 70,000 farm animals including cattle, pigs and goats, and over 35,000 poultry birds have been affected. Meanwhile, Assam governor PB Acharya on Sunday made an aerial survey of the some of the flood-affected districts and expressed deep concern for the affected people. he also asked officials to step up rescue and relief operations. In Arunachal Pradesh, the overflowing Noa-Dehing, Lohit and Siang rivers continued to wreak havoc, with over 15,000 people displaced in Changlang, Lohit, Namsai, Upper Subansiri and Lower Dibang districts. Chief minister Pema Khandu, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Sunday 24 July 2016, requested him to send a central team to assess the flood situation in the state.

BEACH EROSION IN RUSHIKONDA

            Beach erosion continued in Rushikonda on Saturday, 23 July 2016, and rapid rate of erosion can't be stopped. Dropping of boulders is of no use. The beach would disappear in five years. In two years it would reach the temple. It is wasteful expenditure on modernising the beach resort. Impact of erosion has shifted away the shop owners towards the parking area.

MEXICO CITY (AP)

                 Archaeologists at the Mayan ruin site of Palenque said Monday 25 July 2016, they have discovered an underground water tunnel built under the Temple of Inscriptions, which houses the tomb of an ancient ruler named Pakal. Archaeologist Arnoldo Gonzalez said researchers believe the tomb and pyramid were purposely built atop a spring between AD 683 and 702. The tunnel led water from under the funeral chamber out into the broad esplanade in front of the temple, thus giving Pakal's spirit a path to the underworld.Attention has focused on the heavily carved stone sarcophagus in which Pakal was buried, and which some erroneously believe depict the Maya ruler seated at the controls of a spaceship.

ANDHRA PRADESH

                 Visakhapatnam registered only 27.4 C maximum temperature. Minimum was 25 C on the 26 July 2016. Double low-pressure areas one Maratwada to over North Telangana and a second one over Vidarbha to Telangana and Rayalseema moving towards the Tamil Nadu, are prevailing. There was excess rainfall in Visakhapatnam throughout the day on 26 July 2016. The rainfall prevented the road traffic and MVP colony turned as a lake.

        Rain batters Rayalseema with five people killed in roof collapse in the south west monsoon, brought inflows to local streams and rivulets.

         The state as a whole received excess rainfall so far this season. Heavy rain was lashing in Uchalavaram in Kadapa district, during the last two days. R’Seema received 33% excess rainfall. Palasamudra in Chittoor district recorded 11 cm highest rainfall, Nalamada 7 cm, Hindupur 6 cm, Kuppama 6 cm, Gorantla 6 cm, Raju Palem 5 cm, Kolkuntla 5 cm, Pakala and Nandyala 4 cm, Amalapuram4 cm, Mentada 3 cm, Mangalagiri 3 cm, Tekkali 3 cm, Kavali 2 cm and Visakhapatnam airport 2 cm.

       70% of the sanctuary under water, a girl pushes a raft in search of drinking water in South Kamrup district, two persons died about 16 lakh people in 19 districts of Assam have been affected. The River continues to raise.

            World's Largest Flower, That Smells Like Rotten Flesh, Is Blooming In Kerala After 9 Years. It only survives for 48 hours: July 26, 2016 15:34 For the last one week, hundreds of people are queuing up at the Gurukula Botanical Sanctuary at Alattil, near Periya, in north Wayanad. All this just to get a glimpse of the Amorphophallus titanum or the corpse flower, which is in full bloom right now. It's a rare event. The world's largest flower bloomed in Kerala after nine long years.  The plant, which is native to Indonesia's Sumatra region, had been grown from a seed planted about nine years ago. The corpse flower, like its name suggests, emits an extremely foul odour, akin to the smell of rotting flesh. It survives only for 48 hours.

NEPAL’S Rivers last 10days    

         Water levels were close to dangerous levels in Saptakoshi and Narayani rivers. Water flow in the Saptakoshi River has crossed this year's highest mark after continuous rainfall for the past 10 days. Water flow in the river was measured at 277,410 cusec yesterday morning, the highest for this year. The government has launched rescue and relief operations in 14 of Nepal's 75 districts that have been affected by the floods. Pyuthan is among the 14 worst-hit districts where at least 36 people have died in floods and landslides. The toll increased in the district after 17 people who were earlier reported missing following a landslide were found to be dead.

Footprints of Neolithic age at Pathari

          Grooves on a bed rock which were used for polishing stone axes of Neolithic times found at Pathari, on Javed hills in Tiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu. Dates back to 3000 BCE. Six more grooves were found about 700 meters in a hamlet called Periyavazhi Kollai. Grooves measure fromnine to 45 cm in length 2.50 cm to ight cm in width and 5.9 cm to 26.84 cm in depth at Pathari. Stone tools were collected from cultivated fields in the vicinity. The Hindu July 29, 2016.

 GREENLAND OCEAN LEVELS AND GRAVITY 28 July 2016

  EARTH'S ROTATIONAL CHANGES: WASHINGTON POST :  

        But in key areas where glaciers have been melting, coastal Alaska, West Antarctica and, above all, Greenland,  it suggests something very different happened. The ocean actually fell, and in some places by as much as 50 mm (2 inches) over this short decadal span. When an ice sheet loses mass, for example, the gravity drops locally (remember that gravity is proportional to mass), meaning the gravitational attraction between the continent and surrounding ocean diminishes, thus causing the ocean mass to move to the far field. Greenland is losing large amounts of mass. The ice sheet in coastal Greenland has lowered, and since gravity is a very solid physical fact, then for sure one would expect the coastal ocean to lower, close to the ice sheet where there would be a sizable gravitational impact, Scientists recently reported that the ice-covered island lost 1 trillion tons of ice mass to the ocean in just four years, between 2011 and 2014. The animation shows a longer and not entirely overlapping period, but one in which the total mass loss was surely even larger. Several scientists contacted by The Washington Post said the results were intriguing, while cautioning that they did not constitute a direct measurement of sea level. Yet Greenland, at least so far, has been outstripping Antarctica for ice loss because it is exposed to very warm Arctic air temperatures. Antarctica has vastly more ice to lose, but it has been more insulated from strong surface temperature change (although the oceans are melting parts of it from below). So the gravity calculations are currently weighting Greenland's loss, and its sea level consequences, more heavily than Antarctica's. Sea level fall has been around Greenland, and the sea rise, in the "farfield," has been much farther away including East Antarctica and southern Africa. Adhikari and Ivins were also behind recent research showing another, perhaps even more stunning consequence of mass change from the planet's ice sheets, the Earth's rotation has changed accordingly. The animation takes into account these rotational changes as well and how they impact sea levels.

Waterlogging caused by heavy rains over the past few days led to nightmarish traffic jams, even as some cities dealt with flood-like situations in low lying areas. Public anger and political wrangling over the civic catastrophes became the norm in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and the National Capital Region. 

            Gurgaon, marketed as the 'Millennium City', was stuck. Traffic barely moved an inch on the critical NH8 and vehicles remained stranded at the same spot for hours. The Badshahpur drain, which carries stormwater, was blamed as a breach in it led to several feet of waterlogging in the area. However, areas like MG Road, Subhash Chowk, Sohna Road, Palam Vihar, old Delhi-Gurgaon Road were decongested by afternoon. India's gleaming IT capital, Bengaluru, spent even more time stuck in traffic than usual. Traffic police and fire services personnel hit the ground, attempting to pump the water out of the major thoroughfares. Boats had to be pressed into service in some parts to evacuate residents stranded by flooding. Another IT city, Hyderabad, was crippled by traffic jams on Friday. Key area, like Toli Chowki, Mehdipatnam, Madhapur, Begumpet and Secunderabad have witnessed severe traffic congestion most of this week. Hyderabad Police for their part maintained absolute silence on social media - no advisories, updates or instructions. Mumbai, known also as the 'Maximum City', was maxed out with massive traffic snarls. Movement on key stretches like the Western Express in Andheri remained slow. The city had somehow escaped massive water logging over the past two weeks, but sizeable pools of water on roads on Friday ensured that the dream turned into an all-too-familiar nightmare.

ASSAM

            Assam is facing one of its worst floods ever, in which 13 people have died and nearly 18 lakh people have been displaced. Nine rivers cross the danger mark, flooding 22 of the state's 32 districts; more than 2 lakh people are living in 500 relief camps.

             On Saturday 30 July, 2016 lightning claimed 30 lives and many injured. Most of the victims were farmers, agricultural labour, and commuters who took shelter under trees.

         Visakhapatnam is hot and the tap water flowing was also hot. On 31 July from evening 4 PM to 5.50 PM it rained with thunders and lightning in Visakhapatnam in Muralinagar area.

Methane and Helium leaking in a 150 km stretch across Vidisha Sagar, Damoh, and Panna districts between Uttara Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. With large portions in Madhya Pradesh. A Professor at Sagar University claims he was raising the issue last two decades. More than 50 tube wells were dug. In Bhanda tehsil of Sagar district laid down pipelines by villagers.

MILKY-WAY DARK TWIN REVEALED

      With dragonfly astronomers observed Coma galaxy cluster of 101 mega-parsecs (330 million light years) away and detected 47 faint smudges. Van Dokkum saw galaxies on his laptop computer, since hundreds of these galaxies turned up in Coma clusters and elsewhere. Width of the spectral line measured with 10-meter Keck Telescope atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii. 47 km per second they move relative to one another. This indicates a massive galaxy, almost same weight as the Milky-Way. Drgonfly 44 is about a trillion times more massive than the Sun. Dragonfly 44 is a mere blip in terms of brilliance, may be it is failed galaxy. It possesses about 90 globular star clusters. It’s a dark version of Milky-Way.
