A major wind and snow storm downed power lines, closed highways and grounded hundreds of flights over a wide swath of the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday. Feb 24 Blizzard and winter storm warnings were in effect until Thursday Feb 25 morning for parts of Indiana, Michigan and Illinois as the National Weather Service (NWS) predicted as much as 13 inches (33 cm) of snow and winds of up to 50 mph (80 kph). A system of storms swept across the US East Coast Wednesday, killing several people, tearing down homes, and causing power outages. Dozens of tornadoes were recorded, as well as hail the size of golf balls. More than 2,800 flights have since been cancelled. Waverly, Va. Wednesday night, a tiny town of roughly 2,000, was perhaps hit the hardest in the state, brought tornadoes to the East Coast, killing four in Virginia, and heavy snow that cancelled hundreds of flights in the Midwest. Virginia Gov. A 2-year-old child and two men ages 50 and 26 were killed there during the storm bodies were found 300 yards away from their mobile home. At least five structures were damaged in the town of approximately 2,000 and roads leading into town had to be closed because of downed trees and debris tossed by winds gusting to 60 mph. After tornadoes damaged homes and left thousands without power across the state. The tiny town of Waverly took the brunt of the storm. In the Midwest, the storms were accompanied by heavy snow and wind. Northern Indiana was expected to see the worst snowfall, up to 18 inches. Parts of Michigan was also projected to receive more than a foot of snow.

Winter storm hits U.S. North-East Coast, tornadoes tear into South
From 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) of snow blanketed Washington by nightfall, with less accumulation forecast for New York City. National Weather Service meteorologist Patrick Burke said the snow would turn into freezing rain and then rain amid rising temperatures. A high school was damaged in Wesson, Mississippi, and a fire department headquarters was destroyed in Conecuh County, Alabama, the National Weather Service said. In Escambia County, Florida, about 30 homes were damaged. Almost 1,600 U.S. flights were cancelled, mostly at Washington, North Carolina and New York-area airports, according to flight tracking website. Record cold intensified by gusting winds gripped US North-East on the Southern edge of the cold front affected Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle were hit by heavy rain, hail and tornadoes. Escambia County Florida several homes were damaged or destroyed rescue teams searching for trapped residents in debris. Buffalo was expected to get 12 inches of snow.
It was indeed a meteorite, which fell inside Bharathidasan Engineering College that killed a driver in Engineering College at Vellore and shattered window panes of buildings and buses. SEM revealed the characteristics of the carbonaceous chondrites. All the buildings were mildly affected by the impact of the meteorite. They termed it as “BEC 1”.

Planets cause Quakes, Prof. C. Jaganathan, Birla Institute of Technology, at Mesra in Ranchi, published in Journal of Advances in Remote Sensing, GIS and Geography, latest issue. All spatial locations of resultant gravity vectors (RGV) resulting from all combinations of major planets, were identified, and whenever a planetary vector crosses those RGVs, a gravity ripple is created and it perturbs the Earth's orbital path. This alters the movement pattern on the surface of as well the underground. [The New Indian Express, 16 Feb 2016]. Gravity Waves observed by me on the 16 Feb 2016 seemingly agree with dates given by Prof. Jaganathan Chockalingam and two co-authors, but they predicted the dates for the occurrence of Earth Quakes in India and not Gravity Waves.

The aurora forecast for tonight 21 Feb 2016, and the next few nights are quiet. No significant aurora activity is expected. Up north, such as in the Fairbanks area, we expect to see the “typical” quiet aurora band across the horizon. The Kp level at most is predicted to be Kp 2. Cloudy skies may block the view, as auroras are more than 60 miles upwards in the atmosphere. The aurora colours can appear any time of year, any time of the night. The colours depend on the electrons entering the earth’s upper atmosphere, colliding with atoms of oxygen and nitrogen at various altitudes. Red is a bit more rare than green but it is seen. We see pinks much more often up here in Alaska, usually on the edge of a green aurora.

18 FEB 2016 PERU HOT RIVER
Fig.4 Peru Hot River Wonder of The World.
Incredible boiling hot River is discovered in the Amazon.jpg
For centuries, Peruvian locals have talked about a river in the Amazon that burns so hot it can kill. According to legend, Spanish conquistadors foolishly ventured into the rainforest in search of gold, and the few men that returned told stories of poisoned water, man-eating snakes, and a River that boiled from below. It was steaming hot. When I saw this, I immediately grabbed for my thermometer, said Ruzo in a TED talk in 2014. He published a book. Average temperature in the River was 86 degrees Celsius, not quite boiling but definitely close enough, it is not a legend and the water enters deep in the earth to become hot and steams blow out. The scenario is so outstanding in the midst of trees and hills. This hot water joins the River water and flows down. The width of River is 25 meters, depth is about 6 meters and length of the River is 6.24 km. These 'Earth arteries' are filled with hot water, and when they come to the surface, we see geothermal manifestations, like the boiling river. This means the system is part of an enormous hydrothermal system, the likes of which haven't been seen anywhere else on the planet. The water is used to make tea and for cooking the mother of the discoverer. The river in Mayantuyacu, Peru has been found by geoscientist Andrés Ruzo who followed up on what was thought to be a legend because science says it shouldn't exist.
WEATHER IN VISAKHAPATNAM AND El Nino
The clear sky made the city hot since last four days, report on 19 Feb 2016, the temperatures in Telangana and Andhra are about 3 to 5 degrees excess, in several places, but due to the winds from the North, the night temperatures are far below. People feeling the cold in the night like the winter. El Nino might get lost in the middle of this year. Day temperature around 38 , which is 3 to 6 degrees excess over normal temperature, and falling down by about 3 to 6 degrees during the night because of the wet winds from the Sea. About 15 to 20 C Degrees difference persisting between day and night temperatures. This year El Nino is withdrawing. But increase in Ocean temperatures is effecting the coastal atmosphere. Most effective El Nino in the last 15 years similar to the occurrence in 1882-83 and 1997-98. Africa southern parts and Middle America experiencing the loss of life and shortage of drinking water, in spite of sudden floods. Lost nine months the increase in temperature is being noticed. In 2016 January saw an increase of 2.03 C temperature.
RED BLOOD RIVER SUPER-SALTY
RED BLOOD RIVER SUPER-SALTY
Fig.5 Bloodfalls.jpg
When water from the subglacial lake seeps through a fissure in the glacier, the salty water cascades down the Taylor Glacier into Lake Bonney below. When the iron-rich water comes into contact with the air, it rusts - depositing blood red stains on the ice as it falls." Not only is the blood-red, super-salty water severely lacking in oxygen and any exposure to light, it also happens to be home to some extremely odd wildlife. When the lake was forming million of years ago, tiny microbes moved in, and found themselves trapped when the glaciers grew and set on top. The microbes have been thriving in the lake ever since, sourcing the energy they need by breaking down sulphates - naturally occurring substances that contain sulphur and oxygen.

Fiji was on Saturday, 20 Feb 2016, struck by its most powerful ever cyclone, according to reports, as the island nation battened down the hatches with a blanket curfew and mass evacuations. The category five super-storm hit the main island of Viti Levu overnight, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre, with flights cancelled and evacuation centres activated earlier in the day. Severe tropical cyclone Winston, with average winds of 220 km (136 miles) per hour and gusts of up to 315 km per hour, was the first ever category five storm to hit the nation, the Fiji Times reported. In Fiji, 17 dead from 'monster' Cyclone Winston, schools shuttered for a week. 0224 GMT (1024 HKT) February 22, 2016. Schools, however, will be closed in Fiji for one week, the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management said.
Winds that reached 296 kph (184 mph) lashed the tiny island nation in the Pacific, felling trees, knocking out power and causing heavy flooding, Now that Tropical Cyclone Winston has passed, the arduous tasks of clean up and damage assessment from the most powerful storm on record in the Southern Hemisphere has begun. 24 Feb 2016: The death toll in Fiji has jumped to 42 amid fears for remote areas and islands yet to be reached by relief teams, days after a devastating cyclone. Cyclone Winston, thought to be one of the strongest storms to hit the Southern Hemisphere, left 8,500 sheltering in evacuation centres.

Rains lash Kolkata Published on Wed, Feb 24 2016 12:45 IST
Rains have
finally made a comeback over Kolkata and that too with a bang. Extremely
heavy rain lashed the capital city of West Bengal, with Dum Dum Observatory
recording 96 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, 24 Feb
2016. A cyclonic circulation has developed over Bangladesh and
Gangetic west Bengal. Under its influence, scattered rains will continue for
another 24 hours over Kolkata but a similar heavy spell is not likely.
Wreckage covers the
grounds of a mobile home park a day after it was hit by a tornado, in Convent,
Louisiana. : The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of potential tornadoes
through early evening from Raleigh, North Carolina, north to parts of Virginia,
Maryland and the Washington area. The threat comes a day after twisters killed
at least three people and left a path of destruction in Gulf Coast states. The
storm destroyed a mobile home in Wayne County in central North Carolina, while
wind gusts of up to 53 miles (85.3 km) per hour were reported at the Columbia
Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina. Schools in North Carolina, South
Carolina, Georgia and Florida cancelled classes or shifted hours ahead of
severe weather forecast in those states. Debris from a damaged water tower is
shown in this handout photo provided by Assumption Parish Sheri …In Louisiana, rescue
crews combed debris for people possibly trapped after at least seven tornadoes
pummelled that state and Mississippi on Tuesday 23 Feb. Among the hardest hit
was the Mississippi River hamlet of Convent, in St. James Parish, Louisiana,
where state officials said two people died and dozens were injured at one
trailer park. About 90 percent of the estimated 160 mobile homes were destroyed
at the park, located about 60 miles (100 km) west of New Orleans. Trailers
toppled over and were ripped apart, while mangled cars and shoes, pillows and
mattresses were scattered across the park, according to photos from the scene. Louisiana
Governor John Bel Edwards said it was "a minor miracle" the casualty
toll was not higher as most of the trailers were occupied when the storm hit. In
Assumption Parish, which borders St. James Parish, more than 100 homes and
businesses were damaged and several were destroyed. The National Weather
Service confirmed one fatality near the Mississippi town of Purvis, where a
mobile home was destroyed.
