Feb. 02, 2020:  The first and only temple in India, endowed and run solely on Solar power derived from the Sun. The Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Simhachalam is a Hindu temple situated on the Simhachalam hill, which is 300 metres above the sea level in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is dedicated to one of the Hindu trinity deities Vishnu, who is worshipped there as Varaha Narasimha in the form of  linga.

Feb. 4, 2020: A low intensity earthquake of magnitude 3.6 struck Union Territory of Ladakh on, an official of the Meteorological department said. The tremor was felt at 11.25 am and lasted for a few seconds, the official added. He said, the epicentre of the earthquake was 16 km below the surface of the earth at latitude 32.6 degrees north and longitude 78.9 East.

Feb. 9, 2020: I am glad to learn that one Kirthi Kannababu Ryot Jan Jagruti Trust Chairman in S. Rayavaram,  is growing Red rice, Black rice and Brown rice in 6 acres of land and these products are being purchased by people with great interest.

The country had produced 23.40 mn tonnes of pulses during 2018-19 crop year, still short of annual domestic demand of 26-27 mn tonnes. The gap is met through imports. However, for the current year, the govt is targeting pulses output of 26.30 mn tonne. "We faced huge shortage of pulses earlier but now the situation has improved", said minister.

Meaidaibahun Majaw, a Class 4 student, said she decided to develop the app to help others facing harassment after she herself was bullied several times in school. The app will be available on Google Play Store soon.

Feb. 10, 2020: The Maharashtra government has decided to introduce a bill, making learning Marathi language mandatory till Class 10. The bill shall be introduced when the Maharashtra legislature meets for its budget session on February 24. The bill will be discussed for three days and shall be passed in both Houses of the legislature on February 27, the Marathi language day.

Feb 13, 2020: 05.10 PM IST: Bomb explodes at Lucknow court, several lawyers injured. The explosion took place in the Lucknow collectorate in Hazratganj, near the district magistrate's office and barely a kilometre from the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.

Feb. 14, 2020: New Nanoparticle Can Turn Carbon Emissions into Fuel, Sustainably. The team has discovered a metal carbide nanoparticle (a compound of carbon and metal) that can convert CO
2 into fuel; a particle that for the first time, can be produced sustainably at low temperature. This means that the particles can be produced at an industrial scale at a low cost, and with minimal environmental impact, providing a vital pathway toward reducing the world’s greenhouse emissions.

The Reddish stringe is a novel feature of this summer, probably due to the harsh red sun adoring the sky of Visakhapatnam. 
Feb. 15, 2020: No iron, steel to be used in construction of first Hindu temple in UAE, to be built adopting traditional temple architecture. Describing the ceremony, Ashok Kotecha, spokesperson of the temple committee informed that usually building foundations have a mix of concrete and steel. However, as per traditional temple architecture in India, no steel or iron reinforcements will be used.
