Sept.16, 2022: Scientists discover CFC is not alone in destroying Ozone. There is another culprit. Sibu Tripathi - Yesterday 8:39 pm. The new culprit is Iodine. Over a hundred researchers from 20 countries, including the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, in collaboration with Extreme Environments Research Laboratory, Switzerland, The Cyprus Institute, and NOAA Physical Sciences Laboratory, joined hands to analyse the changes in the Arctic. The researchers found that the chemical reactions between Iodine and Ozone were the second highest contributor to the loss of surface Ozone. Mysterious ‘fireball’ lights up night sky.  Yesterday 12:36 pm. There have been more than 200 reports of a mysterious “fireball” crossing the night sky over Scotland and Northern Ireland. Sep 15 2022 11:55 AM: Engineer's Day: This dam has been serving continuously for 1850 years, was built by Chola king Karikala. By Laxman Chaurasiya. New Delhi: Engineers' Day is celebrated on September 15, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya is remembered as an outstanding engineer, who was born in Muddenahalli, Karnataka. Be it the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam in Mysore or the Tighra Dam of Gwalior, the irrigation system and drainage system of many large areas bear the imprint of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. But, the history of engineers in India is very old, from the period of Ramayana-Mahabharata to Harappan and Maurya-Gupta empires, even in ancient times, India was many times ahead of the rest of the world in this field. Whether it is building bridges on the sea or beautiful temples built by carving rocks, all these present a wonderful example of the skill of ancient India. However, it is ironic that it is not even mentioned in our textbooks. However, today on Engineers' Day, we are going to tell you about such a creation of engineers of ancient India, which still exists and is serving. A dam that has been serving continuously for the last 1850 years and is expected to continue to serve for many more years. It was built in 150 AD. Now you can imagine how many excellent engineers India used to have during that period. We are talking about the Kallanai Dam, also known as 'The Grand Anicut', located in the Cauvery river flowing from Tiruchirappalli to Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu. It was built by the great Chola ruler Karikala. The dam is located 15 km from Tiruchirappalli and 45 km from Thanjavur. The dam was constructed when water was required for irrigation over a large area. The region is also known as 'Chola Nadu', which is a delta region and has also been the cultural stronghold of the Chola Empire.

Sept. 17, 2022: India to roll out Hydrogen powered train on next I-Day.  Yesterday 9:35 pm. India will roll out its first hydrogen-powered train, designed, developed and manufactured indigenously, on the next Independence Day, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said. “This train is better than all other trains on multiple parameters. A glass of water kept in the driver’s cabin stays undisturbed even when the train moves at the maximum speed indicating its stability,” Vaishnaw said. Referring to the Vande Bharat Express train, he said it took only 52 seconds to move from zero speed to 100 km per hour while the famed Bullet train of Japan took 55 seconds for the same. Vaishnaw said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked the engineers to build world-class trains which should be safe, stable and consume less energy besides running at a good speed. Attention was also being provided to cleanliness of railway stations and a satellite map had been prepared to identify 132 district headquarter towns that needed railway connectivity.
Sept. 17, 2022: Legends and beliefs associated with Mahalakshmi Temple, Kolhapur.  Thursday. Mahalaxmi temple is one of the Shakthi Peeths mentioned in Hindu Puranas (Hindu ancient religious texts). This temple is located on the banks of the Panchganga river in Kolhapur in the state of Maharashtra. The idol of the Goddess established at this temple is worshipped as Mahalaxmi or Ambabai. A legend tells about how the presence of Goddess Mahalakshmi was established at this place. Once one of the Sapt Rishi (seven great sages) sage Bhrigu went to Vaikuntha (celestial abode of Vishnu) to meet him, but as Vishnu was resting and he failed to greet Bhrigu. Angered, he attacked Vishnu, but he, in return, welcomed Bhrigu without any anger and realised his fault. But seeing this behaviour of Vishnu, goddess Lakshmi got angry and decided to leave Vaikuntha. Leaving Vaikuntha, she came to reside on earth and the place she chose was Kolhapur, the place where her temple is situated. After this incident, Vishnu tried his best to convince Lakshmi to return back to the abode, but she refused to listen to his reasons. Vishnu too stayed back in Tirumala waiting for Lakshmi. It is believed that without the blessing of Lakshmi or Ambabai, the blessings of Lord Tirupati are not considered complete.

The most compelling part of this article is that it has been entirely written by an Artificial Intelligence bot, OpenAI Playground, only by providing simple prompts. Though the author has edited the article, it is very minimal. It shows the ability of AI in the field which is specifically the domain of humans. Artificial intelligence is the process of making a computer system that can do things that normally require human intelligence. With the advent of this technology, there has been an increase in the use of artificial intelligence in writing articles. This is because AI can help to improve the quality of articles by providing more accurate information and by suggesting better ways to present the information.

Sept. 18, 2022: Dr Sudhakar Digumarthi, lead author of the study, former PhD student of CCMB, and now a scientist at ICMR-National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health in Mumbai said: “We first sequenced the essential regions of all genes (around 30,000) using next generation sequencing in 47 well-characterised infertile men. We then validated the identified genetic changes in about 1,500 infertile men from different parts of India.” Dr Thangaraj, lead investigator of the study and Director of the DBT-Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad said: “We identified a total of eight genes BRDT, CETN1, CATSPERD, GMCL1, SPATA6, TSSK4, TSKS and ZNF318, that were not known earlier for their role in human male fertility.”  He added that they have identified variations (mutations) in these genes that cause impaired sperm production leading to male infertility. The researchers have characterised a mutation in one of the eight genes,Centrin 1 (CETN1), to understand how it affects sperm production. They demonstrated the impact of CETN1 mutation in cellular models and found that the mutation arrests cell division, causing insufficient sperm production.
Sept. 18, 2022: Although realistic cooling was not achieved directly under the sun at mid noon, a steady cooling of around 10 °C below the ambient temperature under clear sky conditions was reported during the night. On a relatively low humid day a maximum cooling 15 °C below the ambient was also demonstrated. In later works, B. Orel et al. reported that mixing barium sulfate (BaSO4) with TiO2 as pigments in the white paint can improve the cooling performances even further, which is due to the enhanced absorption in the 8–13μm wavelengths range by the SO4 stretching vibrations of the BaSO4 content. Pigmented paints thus may have advantages over polymer films for nocturnal radiative cooling applications due to the flexibility of coating any suitable substrates with easily available regular paints. In further reports, white pigmented paints deposited on different kinds of roof material substrates with 85% solar reflection and 92% broadband IR emission were used for diurnal cooling. These broadband white paints did not provide cooling below the ambient temperature rather helped to reduce the substrate surface temperature close to the ambient temperature when illuminated under direct sunlight.
