Key Words: Aurora Borealis Visakha, Air Glows, Geophysics, Space Weather, geomagnetic activity in Sweden.

ABSTRACT:

Air Glows of the setting Sun on the 16th August 2011 was phenomenal since they exhibited a brilliant flash of scenario from the top layers of the dark clouds that were moving from the South West towards the North-East. The two Images captured on 27th August 2011 at 5h24mPM and at 5h25mPM are very significant since they show the airglows and new finding designated as Aurora Borealis Visakha, due to the Solar winds that affected the equatorial region of the Earth in the upper atmosphere levels. Interesting is that these streams of the flow of Aurora Borealis Visakha and like the usual airglows, ornament the silver line clouds but with considerable width and richness of color hues. This observation has been interpreted by the present author as an evidence of the positive particle accumulation in the upper atmosphere levels. This charge trickled down to the upper levels from the equatorial ionosphere and the magnetosphere altitudes. It is found that the Coriolis force and the other wind circulations of the Terrestrial atmosphere have generated the Hurricanes of USA and the Typhoon of the Taiwan and as well river flood flows of water in many countries. Image0223kln on 27th August 2011 captured at 3h23mPM exhibits the splendid brilliant Yellow hue from the clouds.

INTRODUCTION:

Space Weather.com reports on August 15th 2011 that “A minor solar wind stream hit Earth's magnetic field during the early hours of August 15th, sparking auroras around the Arctic Circle. If the impact had occurred just a few weeks ago, the midnight sun would have wiped out any Northern Lights, but now August nights are darkening enough to see geomagnetic activity. Göran Strand sends this picture from Frösön, Sweden”. [See the Fig 2 given below in this article.].Solar wind: speed: 444.6 km/sec. density: 1.9 protons/cm3. X-ray Solar Flares: 6-hr max: C3 1120 UT Aug 15: 24-hr: C3 1120 UT Aug15: Sunspot number: 0: Earth is inside a solar wind flowing from the indicated coronal hole. [See Fig 3 given below for details.]

Heller and his colleagues said that “tides can cause the rotational period of the planet (the planet's "day") to synchronize with the orbital period (the planet's "year"). This situation is identical to the Earth-moon setup: the moon only shows Earth one face, the other side being known as "the dark side of the moon." As a result one half of the exo-planet receives extreme radiation from the star while the other half freezes in eternal darkness.” They have not considered the impact of the positive particles accumulation in the upper atmospheres of the Earth’s equatorial belt regions and a significant feature propounded by me in several of my BlogSpot posts at my site. Fredrik Broms of Kvaløya, Norway. "But now, after a long summer without stars (save one) darkness is falling again. Last night when I was watching the beautiful conjunction of Jupiter and the Moon, the first auroras of the season suddenly appeared!" He recorded the scene with a 1-second exposure on his Nikon digital camera: Space Weather reports that “A solar wind stream is heading for Earth, due to arrive on August 23-24. After a weekend of quiet decay, sunspots 1271 and 1272 are growing again.”

The most energetic galactic cosmic rays penetrate even the powerful magnetic fields closest to Earth and eventually collide and interact with Earth's atmosphere. The direct or indirect effects of these cosmic rays on the Earth system, including our biosphere, remain poorly understood and are often highly controversial.

It’s very unfortunate that in spite of heavy rains in the state the Visakhapatnam surrounding villages, like Bhimavaram, Anandapuram and Padmanabham mandals had no rains and the khariff crop sowing has not been initiated for rice and other produce. They were expecting the rains during the last week of August. About 70% of the 4500 hectares of irrigation area depends on the rain fall. Taiwan employed 50000 troops to face the hazard of a typhoon NANMADOL that has pummeled Taiwan densely populated area on Monday, 30th August 2011 resulting in Landslides. India is reeling under floods during last three days of 27th to 29th August 2011.Maharashtra Nasik Gangapura dam and Darna dam have touched the 93% capacity mark. Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab are under a spate of floods. The USA Hurricane Irene became a tropical storm, after it stretched over from the outer bank of North Caroline to Eastward tip of Long Island, in a 24hour period passing over five states. Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Maryland and New England were affected very much and at New England turned out to be a tropical storm. The damage was not as much feared in the beginning of the outbreak of Irene.
OUR OBSERVATIONS:

Water was found to be warmer on perfect cloudy days of Visakhapatnam during the 16th to 17th August 2011.The record of Sun spectra showed the brilliant yellow splash of hue from up the clouds. This finding has a significance and is consistent with the observation made by the SDO/AIA on Coronal Holes that Earth is inside a solar wind flowing from the indicated coronal hole on August 20th, 2011. An Ultra Violet image of it published recently by the SpaceWeather.com also reconfirms, the possible energetic particulate matter hitting the equatorial regions of the Earth, a firm conviction held by the present author.

The west Bengal states, Andhra Pradesh experienced heavy rains on Saturday 20th and Sunday the 21st of August 2011. Sattenpalli recorded maximum rain fall of 18.4 cms and Macherla had 13.0cms rain. In Kadapa, Karnool, WGD, Krishna District, Nizambad, and Karimnagar, all canals, streams and rivers flowed with heavy flood waters due to the rains. The trough exists between the state of Maharashtra and extending over to Tamilnadu. The Srisailam reservoir achieved the water level of 878feet against full capacity of 885 feet. But only 64lakh hectares are brought under cultivation as against the 79hectacres irrigation of the last year.

Image0223kln on 27th August 2011 captured at 3h23mPM exhibits the splendid brilliant Yellow hue from the clouds. The Astronauts from Space Station found the Iren as a “ massive swirl of mashed potatoes straddled the edge of the green plate of USA”. This description supports the observations made by me of the Aurora Borealis Visakha, since the positive charge of the upper atmosphere accumulated due to the Solar wind affects had its influence on the terrestrial Weather patterns.

Fig 1 of Second Fortnight of August 2011 Brilliant Sun Spectra
This Figure shows the spectra captured of the Brilliant Sun Rays through a ring type hard magnet with a small embedded on the surface of the magnifying lens. The blob of the Nikon camera lens also gives a spectrum of the Sun light. The spectra surprisingly don’t show any brilliant Yellow hue. But the complexity of the spectral lines can easily be seen.

Fig 2 of Second Fortnight  August 2011 Sun setting scenario Visakhapatnam 16th August 2011
This Figure is very unique in the sense it has shown the brilliant Yellow Air Glow of the geomagnetic activity of the Earth’s Equatorial region due probably the presence of the dark-gray clouds. A diagonal profile analysis, by me, of the geomagnetic activity in Sweden observed by Goran Strand, and reported to SpaceWeather.com from Froson, Sweden is given for a comparative understanding of the intensities of the various color hues.. I am happy to state that Late Prof K.R. Rao in Uppsala, Sweden, during at FYSIKUM, his stay as a guest in the year 1930, also observed the brilliant Auroras Scenarios.

The jewel ring of a nice diamond shade is a combined effect of the proximity of the Jupiter and the Moon and as well the Solar wind stream.

The images obtained using different filter given in the Figure 4 reveal the complexity of the constituents of the clouds.

Fig 5 of Second Fortnight of August 2011
The 21st Aug 2011 second and third images show how the sky and the Bay of Bengal Sea both are of Gray hue. The brilliant Sunshine on the west has its affect on the eastern clouds as well.

Fig 6 of 2nd  Fortnight of August 2011 kln
The spectrum of Sun taken around 2h56m afternoon with a light blue filter shows the green dominance indicating the presence of Oxygen constituents in the clouds. The panoramic view of the Yellow hue certainly is awesome. The third image in this Figure has remarkable blue hue over the silver ice lines of the clouds and the spectrum is certainly of enhanced intensity in the visible range. The fourth image of orange filter displays the enormous Yellow brilliance of the upper surfaces of the Clouds.

Fig 7 of 2nd  Fortnight of August 2011 kln
The   Sky blue filter hints at the persistent grayish-blue hue of the first image in this figure that in my opinion gives the evidence of the X- Ray and other energetic radiations in which Earth is embedded due to the Solar flares and wind streams. The third image in this figure obtained using the light blue filter is dominated by the Brilliance of the Sun in the clouds. The fourth image of the red filter has the more dominant green hue and less intense yellow hue.

Fig 8 of 2nd  Fortnight of August 2011 kln
The right side two Images of this Figure are very significant since they show the airglow due to the Solar winds that affected the equatorial region of the Earth in the upper atmosphere levels. Interesting is that the streams flow of a new finding designated as the Aurora Borealis Visakha and like the usual airglows ornament the silver line clouds but with considerable width and richness of color hues.  This observation has been interpreted by the present author as an evidence of the positive particle accumulation in the upper atmosphere levels. This charge trickled down to the upper levels from the equatorial ionosphere and the magnetosphere altitudes. It is found that the Coriolis force and the other wind circulations of the Terrestrial atmosphere have generated the Hurricanes of USA and the Typhoon of the Taiwan. First image exhibits the splendid brilliant Yellow hue from the clouds. The two images in the bottom indicate the airglows in the evening of 30th August 2011 around 6PM that the sea has a Gray hue in spite that the horizon is glittering with the setting sun ionosphere refractions.

 CONCLUSIONS AND FINDINGS:

The airglow due to the Solar winds has affected the equatorial region of the Earth in the upper atmosphere levels during the second fortnight of August 2011. Interesting is that the streams flow of Aurora Borealis Visakha and like the usual airglows, ornament the silver line clouds but with considerable width and richness of color hues. This observation has been interpreted by the present author as an evidence of the positive particle accumulation in the upper atmosphere levels. This charge trickled down to the upper levels from the equatorial ionosphere and the magnetosphere altitudes. Dated: 18th August 2011 first draft.
