The giant blue hole in the Great Barrier Reef is a home to stunning healthy coral colonies. Gaskell discovered a giant blue hole in the famous reef and recently he dived 65 feet down into the hole and found out stunning healthy coral colonies. This is a rare discovery, especially, when the environmentalists said that one of the natural wonders of the world was severely damaged by the climate change. This hole was deeper and almost perfectly circular. We dived down to just over 20m yesterday, before hitting bare sediment, that slowly sloped towards the centre. Again it was great to see big healthy coral colonies.

1 November 2017: Reuters:- From January to September, the curtailment for wind power across China dropped 6.7 percentage points from the same period last year to 12 percent, while wasted solar power fell 3.8 percentage points from a year ago to 5.6 percent. Despite some improvement, the amount of electricity that failed to connect to the grid remains significant in the western parts of the country, with almost a quarter of solar and a third of wind power lost in Gansu province. The government has set targets for the amount of renewable power that should reach the grid to resolve the problem of energy going to waste, one of the country's biggest challenges in its clean energy campaign.  Installed renewable power capacity reached 630 gigawatts (GW) by the end of September, with hydropower capacity at 339 GW, wind power at 157 GW, solar power at 120 GW and biomass energy at 14.23 GW.

November 1, 2017. At least 13 people  were killed when an electricity transformer exploded outside a wedding ceremony in western India. Dozens of guests had assembled for the ceremony outside a family home in the western state of Rajasthan when the transformer exploded, spewing hot oil and metal shards. Four people died on the spot. We are ascertaining the cause of the blast several others were being treated for severe burns after the disaster.
November 1, 2017: India clears $3.2 billion purchase of naval choppers. November 1, 2017: Washington, Of these 20 “new” worlds, many orbit stars not unlike the Sun. Of these, the planet with the longest orbit has a whopping 395 Earth-day year, while the shortest circles its star in 18 Earth-days. Other habitable planets found around much smaller stars typically have much shorter “years” than what was found within this Kepler data. The planet with a 395 Earth-day “year,” called KOI-7923.01, seems at first glance Earth-like. With a star similar to our own, and a location within the habitable zone, scientists agree that, of these 20 discovered planets, this candidate is the most likely to have liquid water and support significant life-forms.

November 2, 2017: This Thangka restorer is the force behind an isolated monastery museum in Ladakh. Matho Monastery in Ladkah is home to a rare collection of 600-year-old Thangka paintings and a potpourri of artefacts from the trans-Himalayan region. Founded in 1401 by Lama Dugpa Dorje, the Matho Gompa (monastery) is the only one in Ladakh that belongs to the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism. Located 26 km southeast of the city of Leh, the gompa is popular among tourists for its annual Oracle Matho Nagrang Festival, held on the 14 and 15 days of the first month of the Tibetan calendar. On the day of the festival, the monks come down to the village dressed in elaborate gears and masks, and two among them are said to be possessed by “rongtsan” or oracles who predict the future of the villagers. Nov.3, 2017: THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy to very heavy rain has been forecast at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema as a low-pressure area extended its shadow over the coast.
November 03, 2017 10:22: 10 hours of relentless rain drowns Chennai. Torrential overnight rains for about 10 hours brought Chennai and neighbouring districts of Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur to a grinding halt, paralysing normal life completely.

4 Nov. 2017: There was a heavy wind in the night from about 1 AM to early morning up to 7 AM. Gravity waves have been observed in the morning around the Sunrise time. Due to strong surface winds from the North-East direction speeds reaching 45 to 50kmph were along the city Visakhapatnam. Through out the day the low wind has persisted.

Cosmic ray detectors (Muons) detected, placed within the great pyramid picked up subatomic particles, as they passed through the layers of stone, allowing mapping the interior without breaking the walls. What is in side this cavity possibly precious artifacts.
4 and 5 November 2017: Rains lashed Chennai, on Thursday night with a heavy downpour recorded as 30cm fall and Friday morning from 8.30 AM to 11.30PM between 8cm to 20cm. Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam received 6cm rainfall each. In 2015 November 16, it rained 24.6cm,and November 24,1976 recorded 45.2cm.
5 Nov.2017: Nellore and Chittoor expected to have heavy rains but in isolated places. A fresh low-pressure area is likely to develop over Andaman Sea by Nov.7. This is the one existing in addition to the two low-pressure areas in southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu over Gulf of Siam and Malay Peninsula coast. Throughout the day the low wind has persisted. Cloudy weather in Visakhapatnam sustained since the morning with heavy clouds.

No significant eruptive activity was detected by seismic or infrasound sensors; both sensors detected a signal associated with low-level emissions during 0056-0059 on 12 November. A small explosion was recorded at 0315 on 14 November. The Aviation Color Code remained at Orange and the Volcano Alert Level remained at Watch. Seismicity was dominated by long-period events, with signals indicating emissions. Gas-and-ash plumes rose 4 km above the crater rim and drifted 50 km NE, E, and SE. The MIROVA system detected six thermal anomalies. The sulfur dioxide flux was high, at 2,763 tons per day on 8 November. NOVEMBER 14, 2017: 2:41AM. Iran’s western Kermanshah province bore the brunt of the temblor Sunday night, with authorities saying the quake killed 407 people in the country and injured 6700. Kermanshah is a rural, mountainous region where residents rely mainly on farming. The quake was centered 31 km outside the eastern Iraqi city of Halabja. It struck at 9:48 PM Iran time, just as people began retiring for the night. It could be felt on the Mediterranean coast, some 1100 km away. The earthquake struck 23.2 km below the surface, a shallow depth that can amplify damage. Magnitude 7 earthquakes can be highly destructive.

Hazardous tsunami waves from this earthquake are possible within 300 km of the epicenter along the coasts of Vanuatu and New Caledonia. The agency says waves as high as 1 meter above the high-tide mark are forecast to hit New Caledonia and smaller waves are expected in Vanuatu. It says the actual size of the waves will vary depending on the coastline, with barrier reefs reducing wave height, and warned that the initial wave may not be the largest. Moving at 95,000 km per hour (59,030 mph), Oumuamua was at first thought to have travelled from the bright star Vega, 25 light years away in the northern constellation of Lyra.
But Vega was nowhere near its current position 300,000 years ago, when its journey would have started.

Arunachal Pradesh, the land of rising sun, is seemingly at the receiving end from across the border. Siang river, considered the lifeline of the state, is turning black and muddy at various places and locals suspect China's role behind this phenomenon. Siang originates in China and then enters India through Arunachal Pradesh, it is then joined by two other rivers--Dibang and Lohit--as it enters Assam.
