June 16, 2020: Early morning Viskhapatnam received heavy rain that lasted till morning and it was drizzling in the morning but the cloudy weather with no rain continued till evening.
June 16, 2020: Third earthquake in 24 hours: Tremors of 4.1 magnitude felt in Gujarat's Kutch region. The latest one struck near Bachau in Gujarat's Kutch region at 3.56 pm on Monday. According to the Bhuj seismology department, the magnitude of the earthquake was measured 4.1 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was 6 km north-northwest of Bhachau. The area has also felt as many as 15 aftershocks since Sunday. The tremors have instilled fear in the local residents. An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 hit Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Monday, officials said. The quake occurred at 4.36 am at a depth of five km. There were no reports of any damage due to the tremors, 
June 16, 2020 an hour ago at 19:13: A low-intensity earthquake of 3.5 magnitude on the Richter Scale jolted the Kutch region in Gujarat on Tuesday morning, according to the Gujarati media reports. The earthquake in Gujarat's Kutch region was reported at 10:49 am. This is the third day that a magnitude of low intensity has hit Kutch in Gujarat.
June 16, 2020: Earthquake in Kashmir: 5.8 magnitude quake on Richter scale shakes region. the moderate intensity estimated earthquake occurred at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Tajikistan region and its depth was 100 km inside the surface of the earth. "The co-ordinates of the quake are latitude 37.7 degrees north and longitude 72.3 degrees east.
June 16, 2020 1.01 AM:  AI should be used to translate judgments into regional languages: Justice D Y Chandrachud, further suggested to use artificial intelligence (AI) to translate contents of FIRs, “where FIRs are not in a particular language, let's use ICJS (Integrated Criminal Justice System) and Artificial Intelligence to translate the contents. 
June,  17  2020:  On June 21, the longest day of the year, will also witness a solar eclipse on the day.The eclipse will start at about 9:15 am and will end by 3:04 pm on June 21 (although there might be slight variation in time). It also said that the full eclipse will start from 10:17 am and the maximum eclipse will occur at 12:10 pm. On the day of solar or lunar eclipse, temples in India usually remain shut for hours. However, Sri Kalahasti temple of Andhra Pradesh is the only Hindu worship place that remains open. On the day of the eclipse, the priests at this temple perform holy prayers by pouring holy water to the idol of of Lord Srikalahasteeswara (Lord Shiva). It is believed that the pujas done on this particular day help worshipers get rid of their ‘doshams’(defects).

June 19, 2020: Many parts of North India are reeling under heatwave-like condition for the past few days. The temperature in many cities is hovering above 42C. 
June  19, 2020: six hours ago: Army engineers have completed a 60-metre bridge over Galwan river in eastern Ladakh that would consolidate India's hold of the sensitive sector by allowing Indian infantry to move across the cold mountain river and also protect the 255 km strategic road from Darbuk to Daulat Beg Oldie, the last military post just south of the Karakoram Pass, top officials told Hindustan Times. The bridge was built by the formation engineers despite the PLA showing hostile moves in the area in an effort to force Indian Army to abandon the project. The four-span bridge is located three kilometres east of the Shyok river-Galwan river confluence with the contested Patrolling Point 14 a further 2 km east of the Bailey bridge. Patrolling point 14, which was the site of the June 15 fisticuffs, is close to the Y-junction where the Galwan rivulet joins the main river. An Indian army base camp, called '120 km camp' is on the confluence of the two rivers and next to the DSDBO road.

Meteorite like object falls from sky in Rajasthan in Sanchore town.  The officials concerned also got it tested in a private lab located at the jeweler's shop in Sanchore who confirmed that the piece had metallic properties of Germanium, Platinum, Nickel and Iron (10.23 per cent of nickel, 85.86 per cent of iron, platinum 0.5 per cent, cobbit 0.78 per cent, geranium 0.02 per cent, antimony 0.01 per cent niobium 0.01 and other 3.02 per cent).an object weighing around 2.78 kg fell from the sky on Friday morning, resulting in a one-foot deep crater in the earth.  A huge explosion kind of sound created by its fall echoed in around two km stretch. The locals rushed to the police station and the local administration to inform them of an explosive sound. was stunned to see the piece which was very hot during that time. As the object was emitting heat, it was allowed to cool and then packed in a jar and taken to the police station.

June  21,  2020: Indonesia's Mount Merapi volcano erupted on Sunday, spewing a column of ash by up to 6 km high, and the highest level of flight alert was issued. The wind was blowing to the west of the crater and the residents living near the volcano which is situated in Indonesia's main Java Island are barred from entering the area within a radius of 3 km from the crater.
June  21, 2020: Tremors felt in Assam, reports suggest quake of magnitude 5.1. Residents of Guwahati in Assam and other parts of the state along with those in the neighboring states of Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram reported feeling tremors at around 4.16 PM on Sunday. Agencies say that an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was recorded in the region on June 21 with the epicentre being in Mizoram's Aizawl district. The depth of the quake was 35 km while the coordinates of the epicentre are 23.80 (latitude) and 92.26 (longitude). Earth quake at Silchar Assam at 4.18 pm. On June 18, a medium intensity quake pegged at a magnitude of 5 rocked northeastern states. In a statement, the Regional Seismic Centre said that the tremor was tracked at a depth of 80 km from the earth's surface with the epicentre in Mizoram's Champai district. The earthquake was felt in Shillong and all major cities in the northeast.

June 22, 2020: Earthquake of magnitude 3.6 hits Odisha's Rayagada. the epicentre of the earthquake was in Kasipur area of Rayagada district in Odisha and it occurred at 4.40 pm on Monday. The intensity of earthquakes in India have increased over the last two months.
June 22, 2020: 9 hours ago: Two Moderate Earthquakes of More Than 5 Magnitude Jolt Mizoram; Two moderate earthquakes measuring 5.1 and 5.5 on the Richter scale on Sunday evening and Monday early morning respectively shook Mizoram, adjoining northeastern states and areas bordering Myanmar.Tremors were felt in the north-east for the second consecutive day on Monday morning. At 4.10 am, a quake measuring 5.5 on the Ritcher scale shook Mizoram, with an epicentre 27 km off the town Champhai. The tremors came precisely 12 hours after the first earthquake of 5.1 magnitudes hit the state, with an epicentre 25 km away from the state capital Aizawl at 4.16 pm on Sunday.There was no report of any damage or casualty, officials said. The epicentre of the first quake was at 35 km depth, while the second was at 20 km depth. 
June 22, 2020 19:49 IST: Mild earthquake of 3.6 magnitude rattles Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh. It was the second instance of an earthquake in India in around 12 hours and the third since Sunday.
June 23, 2020: Earthquake of magnitude 3.7 R, occurred at 19:17:37 IST; Lat: 23.22 and Long: 93.24, the National Centre for Seismology tweeted. The depth of the quake was 25 km and the epicentre 39 km southeast of Thenzawl in Mizorams Serchhip district.

June 25, 2020: Three Killed, One Injured in Lightning Strike Incidents in Banda and Lalitpur Districts of UP. Three persons, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed and a woman was injured in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Banda and Lalitpur districts on Thursday.  Raj Narayan, 38, a farmer, was killed when he was struck by lightning while working in his field in Itwa village on Wednesday evening.  In another incident, a 12-year-old girl died and a woman received serious burns after being struck by lightning in Chakora village.   In yet another incident of a lightning strike in Lalitpur, a 37-year-old farmer, identified as Bhanguta, was killed while working in his field in Tila village.

Since then, researchers have spotted evidence of more than 100 FRBs. And now, an international study team believes it's uncovered new information about a well-known FRB that could shed light on how they form.
June 25, 2020: Lightning kills 110 people in Bihar and UP. About 88 in Bihar and about 20 in UP deaths occurred as rain and thunderstorm hit the two states. Gopalganj district 13, 8 deaths each in Madhubani and Nawada, six each in Bhagalpur and Siwan, five each in East Champaran, Dharbhanga, and Banka. Khagaria, West Champaran, Samstipur, Sheohar, Kishanganj, Saran, Jehanabad, Sitamarhi, Jamul, Purnia, Supaul, Aurangabad, Buxar, Medhepura, and Kaimur  reported fatalities. Monsoon fury. Three people dead as floods and land slide slashed Assam and Arunachal on Thursday. Flood toll in Assam was 15. About 19,430 hectares of cropland was affected.

June 27, 2020: Earthquake of 4.4 magnitude hits Jammu & Kashmir. The tremors were felt 332 km Northeast of Hanle, Jammu & Kashmir at 12:32:24 (IST),  Earlier, a lower intensity earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred in Jammu & Kashmir on 14 June.  On Friday 26 June evening, tremors were also felt in most parts of the Kashmir Valley and Kishtwar and Doda districts in Jammu region, after a medium intensity earthquake of magnitude 4.5 hit Ladakh.

June 28, 2020 4:54 PM Flood hits northern districts of Bangladesh. The low-lying areas in districts including Sylhet, Sunamganj, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Kurigram reported flooding due to rising trend in major rivers like Teesta, Dharla, Padma and Brahmaputra. Sunamganj town and 11 upazilas of the district are reported to be inundated due to the heavy rain and upstream river flooding. Road communication in several parts of the district has been interrupted due to sudden floods.

Nordic authorities say they detected slightly increased levels of radioactivity in northern Europe this month that Dutch officials said may be from a source in western Russia and may “indicate damage to a fuel element in a nuclear power plant.”
June 28 Shimla (IANS):  A total of 934 fragile moraine-dammed lakes, an alarming phenomenon in the Himalayas, have been recorded in Himachal Pradesh and Tibet that could cause devastating floods. It's also studying the phenomena of flood due to of glacier lake outburst in various river basins, including the Satluj river catchment area in the Tibetan Plateau, by using the space data, Flash floods are common in the state. In 2000, the Satluj Valley suffered the heaviest flood, causing over Rs 800 crore economic losses. The flood's cause -- cloud burst or glacial lake outburst -- was not known as it happened in the Tibetan Himalayan region. In 2004, formation of landslide-dammed lakes in high altitudes of Parchu, in the upper catchment area of Spiti in Tibet, caused huge threat to the life and property downstream.In the Satluj basin alone, the number of glacial lakes increased by 352 between 1993 and 2013. Due to accelerated glacial melting in the Chenab, Ravi, Beas and Satluj river basins, 109 new lakes were formed between 2013 and 2015.

June 30,  12:21:52 AM IST:  Assam flood crisis worsens, death toll at 24. The deteriorating flood situation, triggered by heavy rains, claimed four more lives taking the death toll to 24 while affecting over 13 lakh people in 25 of the state's 33 districts. There have been incessant heavy monsoon showers across the northeast region including Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh causing most rivers including mighty Brahmaputra to flow above danger levels in many places and inundating fresh areas everyday. The rain water has inundated vast low lying areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Mizoram. 
June 29, 2020: Agreement for 600 MW Kholongchhu Indo-Bhutan Joint Venture Hydroelectric Project Signed. The 600 MW run-of-the-river project is located on the lower course of the Kholongchhu River in Trashiyangtse district in eastern Bhutan.  The project envisages an underground powerhouse of four 150 MW turbines with water impounded by a concrete gravity dam of 95 metres height

But the airline had hoped to resume its flights to Oslo, Copenhagen, Paris, Barcelona and Milan within the next two months.
