Jute Agricultural Produce and a Home Technology
By Shri K. C. H. Venkata Rao,
Local Agriculture Officer, Saravakota, Srikakulum AP

Introduction:

The jute industry is facing stiff competition for rice cultivation. The agricultural sowing and production of Jute wood, is getting lost the interest among the farmers. The main reason of such collapse of traditional agricultural production and crops is that the government or private, public agencies are not supporting the farmer, with the technology and industry back up. Mahatma Gandhi realized this problem long ago and suggested the need of home and village industry support, by technology and scientific machinery. Japan, Taiwan and South Korea have become industrially competitive in Global market, because their government supports ,the home and village industry, with utmost care and attention, while India has no awareness, of what is the need of a technology back up of Village Industry. They are, more interested in projection estimates, rather involving experts and the local talent, to muster the dire need of the farmers, to dispose their produce for the Industry.

JUTE CULTIVATION

The main verities are Surya, Kalinga, Durga and AMV -5 that can withstand the water stress, Enupa Tegullu, and Pest Creatures damages. Also these verities are claimed to withstand other Tegullu. Only 75acres are being used in Saravakota to grow the Jute. Since the rains brought plentiful of water most farmers are switching in the kharif season to grow rice instead of Jute.
Every acre of land requires about 5 kilograms of seeds. Every kilogram seed requires to be augmented by 3 grams of Mankojab, and 6mm liters of Chloriphiryphosph and use of it prevents Enupa Tegullu and juice sucking pest creatures. Every acre of land requires about 5 tons of animal fertilizer that would yield strength to sticks and more seedlings.

PROCESS:

After the Jute has ripened for cutting the jute produce, Jute sticks are made into small bundles. The bottoms of these bundles are to be kept submerged into two-to-three feet of water. They require five days of this exposure. Afterwards 12.5 grams urea per liter water should be applied on to the sticks and the entire bundle frames are to totally put in water with the help of heavy stones tied to them. For complete treatment at least three weeks time is required. The temperatures, content of hydrogen, nitrogen content, microbes’ presence in the water and jute sticks maturity are some important parameters of the process. The silk threads need to be separated from the soaked jute sticks are to be washed thoroughly and then are to be dried in Sun.

PRODUCTS:

The silk jute threads useful to prepare jute bags, carpets and paper plates. More effort by authorities is essential to support this significant industrially useful cultivation and make available at comparative rates the products for local consumption and utility in Andhra Pradesh.

EDITORIAL SUGGESTION:

On the spot farm course need to be introduced and the Agricultural University scientists just like the Medical Doctors should go to the villages farm lands and establish a link with the expensive University machinery. Government should legislate that at least three years of farm experience in a chosen field of activity by an Agriculture Scientist and expert is essential for confirmation of their services. The farmer should certify, the benefit he derived, from an expert and such evaluations, are to be counterchecked, by the Agriculture Squads. The video and photo evidence, as per the timetable, need to be submitted by the experts and scientists, to the concerned University or the Institution periodically, for review and assessment. Every industrially useful produce and cultivation should be supported by machinery on the spot on the farm land.

1st Nov 2010 to 9th Nov 2010 Weather & the Astronomy Study at Visakhapatnam
by
Professor Dr Kotcherlakota Lakshmi Narayana,

ABSTRACT:

2010 November month offered dramatic changes of weather and the scenario of sky for the Astronomy study. The sudden downpour of heavy rain by just an ordinary low-pressure region of Bay of Bengal sent waves of fear among the people and the government which was caught unaware. The phenomenon was unintelligible even to the weather experts. The Leh region also had heavy rains not much covered in local news and TV reporting. Integrated view of weather observations has not become the practice of the day by weather reviewers.
TEXT OF THE ARTICLE:
a.Volcanoes:
The October 31st, 2010 the Sunday the Meripi Mountain in Indonesia has erupted releasing grey colored Ash and Hot Air into the atmosphere. The rain in Visakhapatnam stopped the down pour at around 10.45AM but the sky remained cloudy. On three days 29th to 31st Oct0ber 2010 it rained nearly 20cms causing havoc damaging the houses and the streets. The hills had several slipovers.
b.Heavy Rain:
The reservoirs are full and with excessive fresh rain water lost to the Bay of Bengal.
Reservoir Max Units 1st Nov 2010 Release in Cusecs
Thandava 380 feet 378 1200
Rywada 114 meters 113.5 1200
Konam 101 meters 100.3 1350
Peddaru 137 meters 136.36 6.1
Varaha 460 feet 458.5 15
Gambhir 126 feet 124
Mehadhri 61 feet 60.1 7.5
From the last three days 29th to 31st Oct0ber 2010 heavy rain devastated Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Prakasam, Both Godavari Districts, damaging 5400 houses, displacing 28577 people from low submergible areas, with the standing crops of 11000 acres of farms in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulum, Vijayanagaram, East Godavari, Krishna, Nellore and damaged 7lack acres of produce. About 237321hecta-acres of rice fields got submerged. 20000hecta-acres cotton, maize, soya beans and other like crops have been affected heavily. It’s very interesting from purely weather predictions point of view that the heavy rained that lashed Andhra Pradesh coastal area.
c. Cms of Downpour by a silent and deceiving low-depression:
The rain of last three days 29th to 31st Oct0ber 2010 of about 16cms to 20cms occurred elsewhere in the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. What caused the incorporation of so much of wetness into the low-depression that resulted in a phenomenal rain of downpour (locally referred as the Khumbha Vrishti)? The phenomenon has given a fear among the people that the dangers of natural disasters are awaiting their grudge on the population. The rain led to slipovers of several hill regions and damaged the roads and delayed train movement resulting in the delayed transport of essential commodities. The Onion price has suddenly shot up to Rs. 30/- per Kg. The total disaster management needs an integrated effort (ECRBF see below for details) of Masons, Carpenters, and Plumbers, Cleaners and water-proof painters, etc technical volunteer organizations to work as free public Seva society or as centers available on call just like the No.108 Van for health line help. The idea is that the low-cost houses should be built above the rain water accumulation and flow levels. The Engineering and Technology students of universities like JNTU should undertake the studies immediately and report to the Government why submerging of low-cost and the poor people homes is occurring in India quite frequently? Also instant pumping and water outlet facilities need to be provided. In this context the “Emergency Construction, Repair and Build Force” (ECRBF) suggested by the present author would help the poor and also the needy people affected by the rains. They should be ready at a beacon call. Public services are as vital just as the communication cells of the Cyber activity.
d. Unintelligible:
This could not be understood nor intelligible to many a weather experts since the low-depression of 29th to 31st Oct0ber 2010 would not have been able to give so much of a rain and why it lingered for three days up in the sky from 2 to 5kms height?. The one explanation is that the wet water somehow engulfed the low-depression that led to a heavy downpour almost of 31cm in 24 hours in Amalapuram from Sunday morning 8h00m to Monday morning 8h00m. The idea that temperature alone the main cause and the only cause of the formation of low-depression and eventual storms has got totally shattered among the weather experts.
e. November Month:
The coastal line of Andhra Pradesh extends from Srikakulum to Nellore measuring about 970kms. Cyclones disturb the sea and cause incursions into the land. Lat 30 years there were about 42 cyclones that devastated the coastal beach areas. About 44% of AP state gets damaged by the cyclones each year. Super cyclone of 1999 affected the Orissa state very badly. Nizampatnam and Masllipatnam in AP state are usually the centers of Cyclone hits. In 1977 the Devi sema (island region) had the enormous destruction by a whirling cyclone that caused fire rain in Guntur district. In 1966 the Bhiravapalem in Kakinad had a huge cyclone and experienced submerged land. In the last 110 years a total of 60 cyclones touched the AP state coastal area. In every about two to three years the AP coast had the huge or super cyclone hits. About 4 crore people live in the shade of cyclone regions. From coast to inland a distance of 5kms people living in villages number about 3.3 million. In about 100 years the AP state in month of May had 13 huge cyclones. (Penu thufaoonulu). From year 1892 to 1997 about 71 cyclones that hit the coast were recorded. From 1892 to 1977 the 56 cyclones resulted in huge loss of property and many deaths. In 100years time 10 cyclones, 4 huge cyclones touched Srikakulum. In Visakhapatnam about 7 cyclones and 3 huge cyclones affected the living conditions. East Godavari had 4 huge cyclones and 11 cyclones. Krishna Zilla had 8 huge cyclones and 13 cyclones. Guntur had only one super cyclone and two cyclones. Prakasam had two huge cyclones and 4 cyclones. Nellore experienced about 11 huge cyclones and 21 storms. The storms classification is of seven types. Low-pressure that has 31km/h speed, Depression with 49kmph speed, Vayugundamu (windy cyclone) 61 kmph speed, cyclone (thufanoo) with 88 kmph, huge cyclone with 221kmph, super cyclone with 222kmph. The present November 4th to 8th, 2010 super cyclone with 222kmph has spared the Visakhapatnam coast but with some sea incursions into land on the New Moon day 5th November 2010.In 2007 Genco produced 2400million units of electricity, and water resource projects gave about 1.95lack acres of land for the produce. This year in 2010 about 2.20 lack acres are being provided with project water for agriculture. Srisailam dam released about 26lack cusecs water this year when it had a capacity of only 19lacks.
f. ‘JAL’ over southeast Bay of Bengal
The 3rd November 2010 at Visakhapatnam began with a bright sunshine with the weather official MID report of a threatening low-depression that might develop as a killer storm by 4th or 5th November 2010. The Southern Andaman low-depression turned into cyclonic storm is moving towards Bay of Bengal Sea at present situated 1200km from Visakhapatnam. Rayalseema North Tamil Nadu might receive rains from it.
The cyclonic storm, ‘JAL’ over southeast Bay of Bengal moved northwestwards and lay centered at 1730 hrs IST of today, the Cyclone at present 800 km east-southeast of Chennai and 1000 km southeast of Visakhapatnam. It would intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm. The system would move west-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puducherry and Nellore close to Chennai by 7th November 2010 night. The Severe cyclonic storm, ‘JAL’ remained practically stationary and lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of 6th Nov 2010, over southwest Bay of Bengal near lat.10.00N and long. 85.50E about 500 km east-northeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), 650 km east-southeast of Chennai and 750 km southeast of Nellore. It would intensify further, move west-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puducherry and Nellore close to Chennai on 7th November 2010 Sunday night. Gale winds with speed reaching 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph prevailed along and off north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coast from Saturday evening. It increased up to 120-130 kmph, gusting to 140 kmph at the time of landfall. Why the Super cyclone has moved very fast during the 6th and 7th November 2010 to the Coast?
g. SEA INCURSION:
The sea has entered almost 2km in some places and several feet in other (Upputeru) salty streams of the Coastal Districts of Andhra Pradesh, but it didn’t rain in Visakhapatnam during the days 3rd to 6th Nov 2010 and the Sunshine was sufficiently good in a cool weather. On 7th morning it rained from 7:30 AM. The nights were almost cloudy and the visibility poor. In spite of the weather conditions the Jupiter Planet magnificently hovered in the sky rest assuring the people not to get alarmed of the furious weather. The 4th Nov 2010 night, only the Jupiter and the Famous triangle of Deneb, Altair and Vega stars could be observed. The stars on the east and the south east were barely visible. The New Moon night was totally cloudy and no stars except the Jupiter planet were visible. Police patrolling siren prevented stay at the beach at 10h30mPM to observe the sky and the sea. The 6th Nov 2010 began with a good sunshine but sun shrouded in clouds.
The weather phenomenon clearly has several other parameters to study and Temperature of the Bay of Bengal Sea cannot be cited as the single cause of the cyclones or the Sea incursions on to the land.
JAL cyclone low depression that became an ordinary storm crossed north of Chennai in the morning of Monday 8th Nov 2010 land at 2hAM time but became transformed as an ordinary storm concentrated 50kms away from Anathapuram that travelled via rayalseema in AP and moved towards Karnataka State. It affected six districts in AP and gave interminant rain in Vempalli (7Cms), Nellore, Thambala palli, Hindupuram, Kadhiri, Madaksira, Kandukuri, Sullurpeta (each 7 Cms), Chitoor (puttur 11Cms), Kadappah (kuppam, Rayachole 10cms) and Anathapuram. Even on Tuesday 9th November 2010 (Naga Chavathi festival day) the Visakhapatnam weather was cloudy with visibility reduced by about 49%.
The Northeast (Esanya Ruth pavanalu) Monsoon giving heavy rains in Srikakulum and even without any affect of the JAL cyclone it rained in Palasa about 27cms.
h. Astronomy Images:
3rd night and the 4th Nov 2010 morning the stars in the sky gave a spectacular scenario with the Hunter and the Virgo constellations that were clearly observed. The day was best suited for Telescope observations but alas author has no such facility with him. His letter to the Ind. Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore was not acknowledged for provision of a tripod stand for 3.25inch high school student telescope. A very interesting image of the Moon on the night just one day before the New Moon night was very fascinating with the shadow of the earth on the Moon giving a transcendental feeling. The Jupiter in Aquarius gave a beautiful view of the Zenith sky around 9h00mPM. The morning of 4th Nov 2010 Moon in Virgo and the Hunter of Orion Constellation gave a glimpse of the Milky Way. Jupiter could be imaged along with the Altair of Aquila Constellation. The other bright star in cloudy and hazy environment of this triangle formation was very prominent in the sky in spite of the Super Cyclone clouds that were located near to Chennai.

ABSTRACT

I have suceceeded in growing the spiky and Giant Gem crystals of Monoammonium phosphate (MAP) by using the Discovery Kit of crystals of inventive discovery kids lab. The effort took nearly 40to 50 days and my persistent and patient effort gave me the chance to by possesor of these crystals which I have exhibited to my colleagues in the School. Some wanted the tiny crystals for their souvenier and others wanted to imitate me and asked for the literature. The thick paper like MAP spiky crystals was one of a great surprise and several of them about 1x1 inches size shown the richness of the contents of tiny crystals embbeded within the growth. The tiny crystals are opf random order in arrangement but quite esily recognisable and seen when the 1x1 inch thick formation was kept infront of the light. The transmission charateristics of three different colors namely RED, BLUE and GREEN lights of the LED elements of a LAPTOP and the DVD players, have been examined. The digital Images have given a chance to know their apparent physical characteristics. Undoubtedly the transmission characteristics are extremely useful to develop optical logic devices but is a technolgy by itself and requires more inventive methods.
INTRODUCTION:
The elaborate procedures given in the inventive discovery kids lab have been scruplously followed. Two types of growth have been chosen in view of my experience with tiny seed crystals. The first one is the Creation One: Spiky Crystals and the other is Creation Three: Giant Crystal Gem. The first attempts reported earlier by me are presented in trusciencetrutechnology@blogspot.com Tuesday 7th September 2010 Issue No.8, Dt 22nd August 2010 and gave about 7 figures. The last Fig 7 of this post claims the possible discovery of the Rao and Anti-Rao Quanta and their role in the explanation of Stokes and Anti-Stokes Shifts. The chemical formula of AMP is (NH4)3PO4.
My Procedure and Experiments:
Creation One: Spiky Crystals:
A measure of 50cc of MAP mixed with 250cc of bioled water (Courtesy of my mother Mrs Alivelu Mangamma, Supt.of KGH, Admn,Visakhapatnam). Essentially I have used a supersaturated solution. The growing bowl was kept undisturbed for several days using the tiny seeds generated earlier. The important finding by me is that the environment influences the growth very much. The humid months of September ,October in Visakhapatnam gave optimum conditions of environment in spite the bowl is kept aloof and undisturbed over days. On 2nd November 2010 Prof K. Lakshmi Narayana examined and congratulated me on the successful growth of the thick transperant paper like 1x1 spiky crystals and complimented the effort and patience that I have exhibited. He noted my excitement and joy of the sucesses of my science crystals growth project. Mono ammonium phosphate crystallizes in the form of quadratic prisms The Fig2 gives all the images obtained of these spiky crystals and their color light transmission properties.
Creation Three: Giant Crystal Gem:
A disposal glass cup has been used since it provided a sufficient length to hang the seed crystal of MAP into the supersaturated solution. The Fig. 1 gives the image of the disposable glass cup and the crystal growth arrangement adopted. The seed was suspended using a green nylon thread with the other end wound tied to a pencil. The pencil was kept horizontal on the upper rim of the galss cup so as to keep the seed hanging suspended very close to the bottom but not touching it at all. This is the technique I have found out and mentioned in my previous post, that helps to grow giant crystals. The Giant crystal has an inbuilt Crystal Tree growth activity and holding the crystal is very delicate since the Crystal Branches would loose off with some hitting disturbance. The RED light gave it a view of cloudy dispersion within the crystal itself totally with very little red light transmitted to the other sdide. The Blue gave a look of the sky cloudy crystal. The Green light gave it an apperance of transmission to side ways.
Prof KRRao in his notes (See References cited below) on 29th March 1922 noted that “at each encounter with a molecule there are charges –e and +e on the surface of the molecules. Any such pair of charges, being at only a small distance apart, may be regarded as forming a small dublet”. Calculation of intensity formula that arises from the doublets have been given by Prof KRRao in his notes of a dielectric into concentric spherical shells. It seems to be a log r + a constant where r is the radius of a shell. Quadratic prisma of the AMP does indeed produces polarized light beams and it is noteworthy that the Green absorbance, (studied by Prof KRRao in his Madras DSc thesis) surprisingly shows marked polarization of the transmitted Green light by the Giant AMP Crystal Gem. This is a very interesting finding.

RESULTS AND FINDINGS
These are presented in the form of four Fig.1,2,3,4 and 5 given below.

ADDENDUM

Franco Belgiorno et al. ScienceDaily Nov. 8, 2010 combined a tunable laser beam with a bulk glass target, which allowed them to limit the Hawking radiation to certain wavelengths of infrared light and to capture the apparent Hawking radiation with an infrared sensitive digital camera.A paper describing the possible production of a laser induced analogue of Hawking radiation appears in the current issue of Physical Review Letters, and is the subject of a Viewpoint article by John Dudley (CNRS, France) and Dmitry Skryabin (University of Bath, UK) in this week's edition of Physics. Hawking radiation emitted from a black hole would be so weak that many scientists believe it to be nearly impossible to detect.Scientists have turned to lasers before in attempts to create Hawking radiation, but have had difficulty isolating Hawking radiation from other forms of light emitted during experiments

ABSTRACT:

The scenario of the Astronomy sky at Visakhapatnam has offered a beautiful verification of the events of Sumatra and Indonesia events of Earth Quake, following it the tsunami and especially the impulsive hot eruption of lava, ash and hot air into the atmosphere. On 28th Oct 2010 the Orion constellation was vividly visible along with The Dog Star Sirius. The 29th to 31st October 2010 there was a heavy rain in Visakhapatnam.

Key words: Ash, Hot Air, Heavy Rain, Storm, Astronomy, Panchanga, Hindu Mathematics

INTRODUCTION:
The 28th Oct 2010 Morning offered the clear view of the Hunter (Orion constellation) and the relative position of Moon and the Dog Star Sirius.

Hindu Count of Nakshtras:
Mrigasira 3, 4 steps, Arudhra 1,2,3,4 steps and Punarvasu 1, 2, 3 steps constitute the Gemini Constellation. Arudhra has been identified eons ago as a giant Sun with brilliance magnitude like the Jeshta Nakshtra. These are the only two stars nearly that are 40 times more powerful than the Sun. An interesting aspect is that life has an influence by the SUN and astronomers of India have thought of these two giant stars Jeshta and Arudhra as concomitant with the role of Powerful Sun near to the earth. This Zodiac sign lasted till 29th October 2010 up to the night 11h49m. It began on 26th morning at 1h22m, with Hunter i.e. Mrigasira up to night of 27th October 2010 till 1h14m then arudhra(Ardha) up to night of 28th 12h45m ending on 29th at night 11h49m of the Punarvasu. Next the Cancer with 5 prominent stars known as Karkatamu. From 29th Oct 2010 night 11h49m to 31st October 2010 night Aslesha till 9h10mPM. The Indian Panchanga says 9 stars crossed, while Cancer accounts for 5 stars of Aslesha only the remaining are the 4 stars Punarvasu overlapping with the Pushyami each of just two stars.(see the inset figure). Another method is Punarvasu 1 star, Pushyami 4 stars, and Aslesh 4 stars that accounts for the 9 stars!. May be this is accounted possibly, by cancer 5 stars and by the Hydra group of 4 prominent stars of this Constellation lying below the Cancer. The Panchanga mathematics here seems to be very funny.

Ash and Hot Air

On Friday 29th Oct 2010 at night around 8hOOm PM Mount Meripi released in the south east to a distant of 3.5kms hot clouds and was thought “that it might result in ash rain in due course of time”.

Rain and Storm:

The 29th Oct 2010, Friday morning it rained around 4h20m as a drizzle with the rain clouds rapidly developed from about 01h37m. (See Fig 1 of 29th instant). The bright sunshine had a brilliance enhanced in the morning of 30th Oct 2010 but weather is very cool and exceptionally pleasant with low profile winds. But all of a sudden the heavy rains lashed the city throughout the day on Saturday and continued on 31st Sunday October 2010. Throughout Andhra Pradesh the rains created havoc on the three days 28th, 29th and 31st Oct 2010 with standing crop of rice, ground nuts, vegetables, etc submerged in the rain waters.

MINING SURVEY:

Andhra Pradesh Nallamalla forest area is under heavy survey by sensitive mineral finding sensors, for natural diamonds availability by multinational companies of Japan and Australia etc., for a promise of digging and later for mining leases. This was the area where the famous Kohinoor diamond was found. The geological formation is of considerable interest in view of the present weather scenario. Thick black clouds gather there with sudden heavy rain and poor visibility.
Images Constituting the Record of Events:

The following Images constitutes a record of events of the last few days of the eventful month of October 2010 from both Astronomy point of view and the sudden changes of weather conditions.

ABSTRACT:

The weather in the third week of October 2010 was one of a phenomenon coupled with the events of the SUN and sun coronal holes and the sunspots. One of the sunspots became active while the Coronal hole led o a stream of solar wind that engulfed the earth. The Astronomy study of the Sky made by the present author indicated that the Jupiter and the Earth along with the Moon were affected by the pre-events of the Coronal Hole of the 21st October 2010 and the possibly the quiet sunspots. The reddish airglow of the Moon cannot be just due to the eve refraction of terrestrial origin but was one of a well mixed gesture of the celestial objects of the Solar system. Different regions of the terrestrial regions were differently affected by the magnetic complexity of the SUN.

a. EARTH TREMORS:

Friday 22nd October 2010 night there was rumbling noise at Vansthalipuram that was heard twice and again in the morning of Saturday they felt the fear of the earth quake. But NGRI officials on Friday night informed that no earth quake or its indications had occurred. But Vansthalipuram Red Tank area in Hyderabad region, had a Earthquake of minor magnitude about 1.8R on Saturday 23rd October 2010 night around 9h00m, but the people surprisingly heard the rumbling sounds several times and the NGRI scientists confirmed that the night tremors were detected and they are slightly above 1.8R. Loud bangs and people felt mild tremors and a loud sound around time 11h45m night.

The seismographs again recorded very minor shocks measuring .2 and .1 on the Richter scale and this phenomenon is gradually going to die said NGRI.Similar sounds were heard in Bhainsa in Adilabad district in 1980 and in Nanded in Maharashtra in 2007-08. The quake phenomenon can be attributed to circulation of water inside the earth due to heavy downpour in the past few days in the region said certain concerned officials.

Hyderabad is in Zone 2 earthquake area and experienced quakes in 1994 October, 1995 October, and 1998 October while on 2000 September 17th about 2.5R quake shook the areas of Banjara hills, Jubilee hills, Krishna Nagar, Masab bank, Panjagutta, Amirpeta, and as well in Somajiguda, Hakimpeta, Sheikapeta, Toil Chouk areas also it was felt around 2,5R scale quakes. Up to 5.0R earth tremor may occur at Hyderabad. Near Sachivalaya, NGO colony, areas experienced quakes rumblings in the midafternoon and the school children have been sent away to home.

b. Indonesia Earth Quake:
On Monday 25th Oct 2010 an earthquake of magnitude 7.7R occurred and in coastal region of Mantwai islands of western Sumatra that led to tsunami resulting in more than 500 deaths and about 300 people missing. Also the Archipelago mountain range Mount Meripi has become active and released on Tuesday 26th Oct 2010 with explosive impulse the flowing lava and gray coloured ash that instantly killed 34 people.
Recently in Andaman Island Austin harbor recorded 4.8R and Nicobar had 5.6R in Campbell area earth quakes occurred.

c. WEATHER:

This year South-East monsoon has been delayed and in the mean time the sea of Bay of Bengal is having low depression phenomenon in the middle of the ocean. Actually they should form in the southern India region of the sea. But the North West has not totally withdrawn and remained afloat in the central India region. These should have moved from central India to Andhra Pradesh but since 11th October 2010 this monsoon has remained solid in the Central India. The temperature in the Bay of Bengal if it reaches 27deg or above then the low depressions would get created. The recent low depression has moved away from middle of Bay of Bengal turned as severe storm on Thursday at 11.30AM named as Giri. This from Sitvy Minar is about 350kms away and from koks bazaar Bangldesh is 450kms away and from digha west Bengal is 650kms away. It crossed land at Tiknash in Bangladesh at 5h30m PM on Friday 22nd, 2010.
On Oct. 24th, 2010 an outburst of color bright enough to rival the Moon spread across the skies of Scandinavia was observed and has been photographed by Nick Howes. The 25th Oct 2010 was celebrated in Andhra Pradesh as Attla Thadhiya (rice pan cake) festival. Sunspot group 1117 increased in spot count and magnetic complexity. No big flares as yet found on the 25th Oct 2010.
It’s very interesting to note that a low-depression has turned into a storm on the 26th October 2010 Tuesday morning and rained heavily in Visakhapatnam for about an hour from 9.30AM to 10.47AM. Also it’s interesting to note that there was a big earthquake in Indonesia western coast at magnitude 7.5R Kepuloven Mentanie region on Monday 25th October 2010 night at 9h45m PM as announced by US geophysical experts. West Sumatra capital Padaung people were terrified of a tsunami that didn’t occur. The tremor was felt for about 3 seconds.

d. SpaceWeather

SpaceWeather said on 21st October 2010 Sunday that all of the sunspots on the Earth-facing side of the sun are relatively stable and quiet. No big solar flares it said are expected in the next 24 hours. But Coronal Holes of 21st October 2010 resulted in a solar wind stream flowing from the indicated coronal hole that reached the Earth on Oct. 25th or 26th. These were the days when Visakhapatnam was engulfed in thick water bearing clouds.

Solar winds protons of low density but enormous speeds ranging from 615 to 650km/sec were observed. It produced beautiful Northern lights on the weekend days.

e. The Full Moon Day:

Photographer Tamas Ladanyi said night's full Moon cast a bright light over this colorful autumnal forest in the Bakony Mountains of Hungary, it was almost like daylight. After three days of quiet stagnation, sunspot 1117 is growing again on the Sunday 23rd October 2010. Comet Hartley 2 could be photographed in Hawaii on the Full Moon night (Revathi Nakshtra till 8h43m PM and next Aswani up to 10h35mPM on 23rd Oct 2010) and appeared at the constellation Auriga with the Capella star, high in the northern sky with its tail very well defined and stood in beautiful contrast to the diffuse green coma.
It may noted that the Moon in Pisces i.e. Meena Rasi constituting the Purva Bhadhra 4th step, Uttar Bhadra 1,2,3,4 steps and Revathi 1,2,3,4 steps on the days 19th October to 22nd Oct 2010 eve of Full Moon night till 8h43mPM resulted in excessive rain in Visakhapatnam that continued the following days as well.
In Vira Bruk, Sweden, photographer Mr.P.M. Hedén turned his attention to a moonlit waterfall. There was a time he said “when I didn't like the full Moon because it prevented me from doing any deep-sky photography. Now I really enjoy walking around the moonlit landscape and doing lunar light photography instead."
On 27th October 2010 there was bright sun light since the morning in spite that there were extensive dense whitish clouds during the previous night. Weather has become chilly and the maximum and minimum temperatures are ranging from 27deg to 25 deg C. The low depression condition about 2km height in Bay of Bengal has however persisting threatening coastal rains. On 27th night the Visakhapatnam sky was somewhat clear except for occasional pass by clouds and many images of the Orion Constellation and the Sirius star could be captured by the present author.

Volume 2010, Issue No.10, Dt 17th Oct 2010 at 5:52PM
ABSTRACT:
The Moon and Jupiter proximity has occupied the central Interest in the Astronomy study of the sky at Visakhapatnam. An attempt has been made to gather the information of thenear stars of the Moon at various times so it provides the ready data for the Moon relative to the stars of the different constellations. Weather and the spectral properties of the Moon and the Sun have also been investigated.

Introduction:

From 18th October to 21st October there were no reports of extensive rains in Visakhapatnam area. But from Friday 22nd to Saturday 23rd, October 2010 there were heavy rains in Jerlam, Ranasthala, Palasa about 3cms, Cheepurpalli, Salur, Sompeta, Parlakimidi, about 4cms, Araku, Parvathipuram, Bobbli, Icchapuram, kalingapatnam, Pakala about 4cms and on Sunday it rained in Visakhapatnam and Telangana regions. The low-depression moved to Orissa state and has hit Puri other places.

The idea that El Nino has shifted to new El Nino Modiki is debatable since the later results only in Long-term changes in North Pacific Ocean currents briefs The Hindu Thursday 21st Oct 2010.

The Moon and Jupiter on 21st gave a good display in the sky and near the beach the Moon raise was enchanting. The pass by clouds has not prevented much the capture of the sky digital images.

Introduction:

The Visakhapatnam weather was very uncertain and irregular during the week of 8th October to 15th October of 2010 and caused several people to fall sick of its vagaries’. Most of the nights were very cloudy and no good Astronomy observations could be made. But few moments of clear sky allowed some images to be captured. The sky due to the change of the weather cloud patterns offered different sky environment and on the 14th October night the Moon was 90% covered by the thick cloud blanket. The Jupiter couldn’t be spotted at all. It rained continuously from the night till the afternoon of 15th October 2010. The heavy rains of this month were a bit unusual. The sky on 16th October 2010 morning time has somewhat cleared though it was full of passing clouds in striated formations of patchy patterns. The images of (Hunter: Mrigasira: The Head Visible) the Orion constellation captured shows vividly these clouds.
Images:
Several images were captured with both the Canon IXUS Digital Camera of 14.2MP and as well the Nokia 2700 Classic Mobile Camera of 2MP. The following six images Fig Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 depict the different weather conditions that prevailed in Visakhapatnam during the second week of October 2010 month along with the stars visible through the cloudy sky.
