Professor Kotcherlakota Lakshmi Narayana met The Principal Dr.D.V.K.Raju on the 3rd Nov.2008 at his office and on Principal invitation, Professor agreed to deliver a lecture on “Modern Trends in Physics”. Under NAAC activity Dr.DRKRaju garu arranged a Guest Lecture cum Seminar on “Modern Trends in Physics” to be delivered on the 5th November at 10.30AM onwards. A very big banner of Digitized version was put up in the M.R.College, Seminar Hall informing the public and students about the Guest Lecture by Dr.K.Lakshmi Narayana on Modern Trends in Physics.
The lecture was well attended by the students and faculty of Maharaja College at Vizayanagaram. The college has attained an autonomous status and is now in position to engage in a variety of courses to enable the students to develop job oriented skills.
The reason of visit of Dr.Kotcherlakota Lakshmi Narayana to this college has been, of course, prompted by the fact that Late Prof. Dr.Kotcherlakota Rangadhama Rao D.Sc. (Madras) D.Sc. (London) was a student, at collegiate level 1916-1919 and as well, was a most successful research scientist of this Maharaja College. Professor Dr.K.R.Rao. D.Sc. (Madras) D.Sc. (London) was a self made man(worked as demonstrator at Viziyanagarm and also in Srikakulum colleges) and has borrowed partly money to gather the optical and other Physics gadgets to complete his research work in this College the near-most city college, to Visakhapatnam Town, recognized by Madras University as research laboratory for award of its Doctoral Degrees. At the collegiate level itself Prof.K.R.Rao has earned the praises of the teachers for his uncanny abilities to set up the experiments in Physics and especially for optical investigations, probably well planned to help his ambitious research study after the acquisition of B.A (Hons) and the Post Graduate M.A degree in Physics. He got his BA degree from Mrs. A.V.N.College Visakhapatnam and his MA degree in Physics from Tiruchinopoly, Tamil Nadu. Later as planned he successfully did research work at the Maharaja College.
