ABSTRACT

Skymet has forecast a normal monsoon for 2015 and sticking to its prediction. It rejected IMD forecast saying that Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) counters the El Nino weather event.  Deficient Monsoon predicted for this year raising doubts of drought in the country feels the Earth Sciences Minister. The large rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Irrawaddy and the small rivers Mahanadhi, Godavari and Krishna together contribute 1100 Km^2 of continental fresh water to the BoB between July and September. It is transported down south by East Indian Coastal current of the BoB. It impacts the cyclones and regional climate in the BoB. It is unique in India and this coastal flow of fresh water along the Eastern coastal line of India cannot be observed elsewhere in the world. Low rainfall won't hit economy said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in spite of second straight year predictions.
The gap between the coast and the sea was 250 meters in Visakhapatnam  now it shrunk to 60 meters. Disapearence of Sand dunes and hillocks along the beach coast in Vizag is phenomenol. About 170 sites along the coast between Kerala and West Bengal erosion is taking place at a dangerous route.

Wootz steel or Seric Iron characterized by bauds of micro carbides developed in South India in the 6th century B.C.E and exported globally and there are more than 300 ports in Telangana all of them have a rich history. 12K years ago wild animals in Telangana
A shocking rock painting of a giraffe in Warangle at Pandavulagutta revealed its origin in India instead of Africa. Most of the paintings depict a range of wild animals like bison, antelope, elephants, tiger, leopard, horse, crocodile, crab, fishes, porcupine, insects, tortoise, lizard, langur, vultures, eagle, crane, peacock and butterfly. Symbol of swastika, geometric shapes like circles, and squares, icons for hut, fence, sun and honey combs, weapons like bows, arrows, sword and lancer are also in the paintings. At many rock paintings sites, ther exists layers of paintings traversing different ages indicating that humans from Mesolithic age to as early as 13th century BC  used the same rock as canvas by applying white wash over an earlier painting. Colors used for rock paintings were white pigments made from kaoline green color from copper compounds, red, yellow, orange and brown from hematite and oxides of Iron. Colors retained intact over the years due to chemical reaction resulting from oxide present on rocks. Rich heritage revealed in the rock paintings found in several places including Warangle, Rangareddy, Khammam and Adilabad. These paintings date back to Mesolithic age (10,000BCE), Neolithic age (3000BCE - 1400BCE) and some even from 10-13 century BCE.

RAINS
Skymet it rejected IMD forecast saying that Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) counters the El Nino weather event. A positive IOD creates a barrier in the eastern Indian Ocean and all the southwesterly winds blow towards the Indian sub-continent causing rains but leading to droughts in parts of Indonesia and Australia. in 1967, 1977,1997 and 2006 a positive IOD brought adequate rains to India despite the emergence of an El Nino.

At the time, people thought NLCs were caused by the eruption, but long after Krakatoa's ash settled, the clouds remained. In recent years, NLCs have intensified and spread with summer sightings as far south as Utah and Colorado.

INDIA RICHER BY  NEW SPECIES

Scientists and taxonomists of the country have discovered 349 new species of flora and fauna in the past one year- 173 species and genera of plants and 176 species of animals. The significant findings include nine new taxa of wild Musa (bananas), four species of black plumes (Jammu), three species of wild gingers and 10 species of orchids. The Western Ghats accounted for22% of new discoveries while the north-Eastern states each accounted for 15% of the spices found. The Arunachala Pradesh alone 25 species of seed plants were discovered. About 93 species of insects, seven species of collembolans, 12 species each of arachnidan and crustacean and one species of mollusca were discovered. Two reptiles new ones one in Taml Nadu and the other in Madya Pradesh were found. A large number of amphibians and fish made it to the list with 24 and 23 new species.

COMPUTER RUNS BY WATER DROPLETS

An idea struck Manu Prakash an Asst. Prof. of Bioengineering at Stanford University, when he was a graduate student. Prakash wondered if he could use little droplets as bits of information and utilize their precise movement to process both information and physical materials.

He decided to build a rotating magnetic field that act as a clock to synchronize the droplets. Prakash built arrays of tiny iron bars on glass slides that look something like a PakMan maze. They laid a blank glass slide on top and sandwiched a layer of oil in between and into the mix the water droplets had been infused with tiny magnetic nano-particles. Next they turned on magnetic field. Every time the field flips, the polarity of the bars reverses drawing the magnetized droplets in a new predetermined direction. A camera records the interactions between individual droplets allowing the observation of computation as it occurs in real time. It is useful for high-throughput chemistry and biology laboratory. Each droplet can carry some chemicals and becomes its own test tube and the droplet computer offers unprecedented control over these interactions.

The monsoon has got off to a good start after a slightly delayed onset, with widespread showers over the past five days taking the countrywide rain tally to 13% above normal so far this month.

A top IMD scientist said a rain-bearing system called the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO) was currently passing through the Indian Ocean and had energized the Bay of Bengal arm of the monsoon. MJO is an eastward moving pulse of cloud and rain near the equator that typically recurs every 30 to 60 days.

Indian Ocean Dipole mimics El Nino-La Nina in the equatorial Pacific; the positive phase is when the western part of the ocean warms up relative to the east, and vice versa.  The positive dipole phase has come to the rescue of the Indian monsoon in the past, notably in 1997, which was a strong El Nino year.

Rainfall in June is almost certain to be significantly more than normal, going by predictions of weather scientists from Australia to the US, giving a flying start to the four-month season that brings 75 per cent of the rainfall the country receives and fills up water reservoirs for irrigation and hydropower generation for a year. The monsoon has already delivered 16 per cent excess rainfall since the start of the season on June 1, and is expected to remain strong at least until the end of the month. The system, called Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO), has strengthened rain-bearing clouds along its path and given the country 33 per cent surplus rain on Saturday and a drenching 88 per cent surplus on Sunday.

In the last 24 hours (8.30am June 21-8.30am June 22), according to the Regional Meteorological Centre-Mumbai, Colaba recorded 65.2mm and Santacruz 92.9mm of rainfall. NEUTRON DETECTION
For the first time, the group's Space Weather Payload included a bubble chamber for measuring neutrons. The device flew 109,012 feet above California's Sierra Nevada mountain range, then parachuted back to Earth, landing near Death Valley National Park. The results: Neutrons were detected.
Circled above are some of the bubbles that formed as neutrons passed through the chamber. By counting the bubbles, it is possible to estimate the total dose of neutron radiation absorbed during the 3 hour flight. The answer is 600 microRads (energy range 200 keV - 15 MeV). Interestingly, this is almost the same dose detected by on board X-ray and gamma-ray sensors: 620 micro-Rads (energy range 10keV to 20MeV).

SUNSPOT AR2371

Sunspot AR2371 has erupted again, producing a strong M 6.5 class solar flare. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the flare's extreme ultraviolet flash on June 22nd at 18:23 UT.This is due to solar protons and electrons being funneled into the polar regions by Earth's magnetic field. It rained in Visakhapatnam on the early morning of 23rd June from 2 AM to 3 AM.

WE ARE ALL STAR DUST!

The spectra of stars also allowed astrophysicists to determine the speed at which they move toward or away from Earth. As nuclear physics, quantum mechanics and particle physics grew in the first half of the 20th century, it became possible to formulate theories for how nuclear fusion could power stars. These theories describe how stars form, live and die, and successfully explain the observed distribution of types of stars, their spectra, luminosity, ages, and other features. The nuclear fusion process that energizes them smashes together hydrogen atoms to form the heavier element helium. Thus, astrophysics tells us that, while we are not all stars, we are all stardust.

SPACE WEATHER

Earth has entered a fast-moving (800 km/s) stream of solar wind. It is unclear whether this stream is related to the expected arrival of a CME on June 27th. At the moment, geomagnetic activity remains low; the low-density stream is doing little to upset Earth's magnetic field.
