ABSTRACT

Most Powerful Storm of this year packed 134 mph Winds: Wednesday Sept. 14, Super Typhoon Meranti hit southern and eastern areas of Taiwan. Kolhapur Scientist Dinesh Bharadia claims turning Radio communication two-way, a feat that surpasses Marconi attempt. Duplex Radio won him a Young Scholar award to receive at California on November 2. At 8:52 BST Friday 16 September 2016: Half a month’s rain falls in a few hours overnight. There were reports of roads and properties being inundated across Surrey, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Greater London as a band of torrential rain and hail moved in from the Channel overnight. Norilsk mining of Nickel, Copper and Palladium and turns the flow of River as RED. It has been raining at Visakhapatnam since midnight to early morning on Sept. 17, and from 3 AM to 6 AM the rain was heavy. Erta Ale, a 600 m-high and highly active volcano that contains the largest living lava lake in the world. A 3-million-year ice age is coming to an end.  Much of the Arctic sea ice has melted away in the last 35 years. The ice loss poses a terminal threat to polar bears. Almost all districts of Marathwada adjacent to Telangana, have received heavy rains over past week 9 to 16 Sept. 2016. At least five persons from two families, including a minor girl, were  killed as their houses were swept away in huge landslides caused by heavy rain today, 17 Sept 206, in Mizoram's Aizawl district. September's Harvest Moon, the full moon on Sept 18, closest to the autumnal equinox, rises above the Phoenix skyline. Some sky watchers on the other side of the globe were also treated to a Harvest Moon with a subtle eclipse. No sufficient rainfall in Visakhapatnam except a few spells, though it was cloudy and booned with passing heavy clouds, on the 18 and 19 September 2016. Weather was helpful to people to enjoy the fag end of Vinayaka Idols immersions in the Sea with no much fun-fare. A list of rainiest places across the country during the last 24 hours: Harnai 174 mm, Mahabaleswar  119 mm, (Maharashtra), Mahuva 105 mm, Amreli 96 mm, Bhavanagar 93 mm (Gujarat), Kailaswar 86 mm  (Tripura), Car Nicobar 82 mm (Andaman), Bhagalpur 73 mm( Bihar), Khargone 71 mm (MP), Jamshedpur 70 mm (Jharkhand). A cloud burst and landslides triggered the flood in River Kadanthala near Kozhikode on Monday, 19 Sept 2016. Flash floods carried away six youth, who were unaware of the danger. I wonder why the INTERNET cannot function with the cloudy and slight rain weather in Visakhapatnam. Also the INTERNET being disconnected on SUNDAYS the day when India gave a free facility of internet use by the public. Some coordination between the BSNL office and the public and private INTERNET users must be exploited for the good cause of the citizens. In the afternoon of 20 Sept 2016, there was a sudden gush of wind hardly for few minutes. It rained in the morning for hardly a couple of minutes. The tap water was sufficiently hot so I could enjoy the warm water bath around 12h30m PM. Since Yesterday night it was raining in Visakhapatnam, and morning of 21 Sept. 2016 the weather was subdued with a moving sizzling and howling wind, and the whooping wind closed all the open windows automatically. Even in the afternoon around 14h30m PM the wind was blowing with howling noise but only intermittently. In the morning till 12h30m PM the weather with moving heavy clouds and occasional rain was dominant. Heavy clouds made the visibility subdued. The afternoon from about 14 PM the weather was very hot and surprisingly the tap water was sufficiently warm. The sudden and occasional gush of wind blowing was reminding me of the big wind blow that shattered the three districts Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.  Electricity produced by rise and fall of waves off the coast of Hawaii has been fed into a power grid the first to go on line in US. Lightning killed Senapati Suribabu aged 60 on Monday in Sabbhavaram Mandal in his fields, on 26 Sept 2016. Family members saw him downfallen in the fields, when he didn't return home. American NASA photo Meteor fall in Australia off the coast Queensland on 26/09/2016 at 20:27:47 PM. Meanwhile, a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Airlie Beach at around 10.15pm, though there is nothing to suggest it was as a result of the apparent meteor strike.  Local youth formed a team and transport the vehicles along with people on bamboo poles to reach Devipuram. More than dozen people have taken up the risky business and daily earn Rs.30 per head, including for vehicles, to transport across the rivulet.  Pullichintala project on Tuesday, 27 Sept 2016, at 2 PM 162.92 feet water with 3, 61, 300 cusecs flood reached. All the 15 gates were lifted away and people are using drones to keep a watch on the water rise. US: Iowa City braces for highest floodwaters on Sep 27, 2016, 8:19 pm IST.  Entire neighbourhoods and the downtown area were largely abandoned as residents in low-lying areas heeded the city's call to evacuate. The river was expected to crest at 23 feet, the second-largest flood in the city's history. But the National Weather Service lowered its crest forecast Tuesday to 22 feet, or 6 feet above major flood stage. It would last till Thursday. A B. Tech student and his group, in KL University, Tadepalligudem in AP, have developed a DRONE useful to distribute the seeds, pesticides or insecticides on the fields. They are students of TRIPLE-E third year. It costed one lakh rupees. As on 28 Sept 2016, ten Zillah had good rains, but three Zillah had only moderate rains. Guntur registered 26.5% and Visakhapatnam 20% had excess rains. Anantapur, Nellore and Chittoor Zillah had less, below average, rainfall. These rains are termed as unprecedented, since every year the heat waves in the state are increasing, the global warming is responsible for the occurrence of rains. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana excessive rains are due to Global warming. Kerala state has reduced rains as a result of the Global warming. Whenever Pothula Gadda overflows, and sometimes traffic is stranded for hours. More than 40 autos, tempo trucks and jeep ply on this road. It was worst hit in the entire district. Old road was laid during Jamindari days.

KOLHAPUR DUPLEX RADIO
Kolhapur Scientist Dinesh Bharadia claims turning Radio communication two-way, a feat that surpasses Marconi attempt. Duplex Radio won him a Young Scholar award to receive at California on November 2. Current analog device is 4*4 inch circuit board by Kumu Networks, at Stanford University, miniature version, incorporated in mobile phone. No much infrastructure needed to transmit between the cellular tower phones.

There is a lot of mining near Norilsk, because the area has massive deposits of nickel, copper and palladium.

SEPTEMBER 16, 20164:58PM
The vessel Pisces V visited Cook seamount, a 13,000-foot extinct volcano, earlier this month to examine its geological features. The researchers from the University of Hawaii and the non-profit group Conservation International spotted wonders such as a rare type of octopus with big fins that look like Dumbo's ears, and a potentially new species of violet-hued coral they named Purple Haze.

The Danakil Depression, formed by the collision of several tectonic plates on the Ethiopian, Eritrean and Djibouti border, is not only a sizzling cauldron but also a place of stunning geological wonders. The majority of travellers who come here do so to visit Erta Ale, a 600m-high and highly active volcano that contains the largest living lava lake in the world. The volcanic lunar landscape resembles a surrealist painting, with sulphurous hot springs, lava beds, hypothermal pools, and a mix of sulphates, iron oxides and salt deposits all combining to create a hallucinogenic palette of otherworldly formations and colours.
ICE AGE TO END
A 3-million-year ice age is coming to an end.  Much of the Arctic sea ice has melted away in the last 35 years. The ice loss poses a terminal threat to polar bears.

72 hours rain in Marathwada
Rains in past three days have almost done away with the ill-effects of three years of drought in major parts of Osmanabad and Latur districts. Almost all districts of Marathwada adjacent to Telangana, have received heavy rains over past week 9 to 16 Sept. 2016.

VAMSADHARA AND NAGAVALI RECEIVE HUGE INFLOWS
Heavy rain the catchment areas in Odisha which became dry a month ago now, now on Friday Sept., 16, 2016, received 40,000 cusecs in Nagavali and 50,000 cusecs in Vamsadhara Rivers. Overall rainfall has been set at 577.1 mm as against normal of 614 mm. The 38 Mandals of the district would receive water for agriculture  activity.
RAIN IN VISAKHAPATNAM
Scanty rainfalls recorded in Visakhapatnam, though hovering clouds and passing clouds kept the city relatively cool on all the week.

Visakhapatnam
Sagarnagar witnessed on the Saturday 17 Sept the devastating sea surge on to the protecting heavy stones laid crossed them and touched the selling stalls. The small business people got disturbed and being a week end visitors stood at far of distance watching the onset of the upsurge of the waves on to the beach.
Sunday, Sept 18,

September's Harvest Moon, the full moon  on Sept 18, closest to the autumnal equinox, rises above the Phoenix skyline. Some sky watchers on the other side of the globe were also treated to a Harvest Moon with a subtle eclipse.

Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Gujarat pouring heavy rains over most parts of the state. Active Monsoon conditions were also witnessed over few parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and isolated areas in Jharkhand. At present, Harnai in Maharashtra is the rainiest place in India with 174 mm of rainfall.
A list of rainiest places across the country during the last 24 hours: Harnai 174 mm, Mahabaleswar  119 mm, (Maharashtra) , Mahuva 105 mm, Amreli 96 mm, Bhavanagar 93 mm (Gujarat), Kailaswar 86 mm  (Tripura), Car Nicobar 82 mm (Andaman), Bhagalpur 73 mm( Bihar), Khargone 71 mm (MP), Jamshedpur 70 mm (Jharkhand).

VISAKHAPATNAM CLOUDY
No sufficient rainfall in Visakhapatnam except a few spells, though it was cloudy and booned with passing heavy clouds, on the 18 and 19 September 2016. Weather was helpful to people to enjoy the fag end of Vinayaka Idols immersions in the Sea with no much fun-fare.

BENGALURU DEVOID OF ITS LAKES
Bengaluru was always known as the city of one thousand lakes. These are lakes dug in the 16th century by the city's founders. A bird census in the mid-90s had found several varieties of migratory birds, numbering over 5,000 in each lake. However, by 2015, these numbers had fallen drastically. According to the bird waters, sewage inflow, debris lining the shore, commercial fishing, unhindered chopping of trees along the shore and disappearance of wetlands had all affected the health of the lakes. Furthermore, some of the lakes had gone dry while some others had been bifurcated by main and arterial roads, while industrial areas surrounded some others. By 1960, Bengaluru had only 280 lakes though. This figure dropped alarmingly to 80 by 1993. Currently, the number of healthy lakes in and around the city is a dismal 17.

SIX YOUTH WASHED AWAY
A cloud burst and landslides triggered the flood in River Kadanthala near Kozhikode on Monday, 19 Sept 2016. Flash floods carried away six youth, who were unaware of the danger.

20 Sept. 2016
It rained in Visakhapatnam in the mid-day 20 Sept. 2016, around 11AM to about an half hour. The water from our tank is sufficiently hot for bathing, though the city was full of cloudy weather, am surprised of the heat that the water retained in spite of the rain spell and subdued weather. The internet connection was not given, this has been so, whenever I have observed the slightest rainfall in Visakhapatnam.

VISAKHAPATNAM Weather
In the afternoon of 20 Sept 2016, there was a sudden gush of wind hardly for few minutes. It rained in the morning for hardly a couple of minutes. The tap water was sufficiently hot so  I  could enjoy the warm water bath around 12 h 30 m PM.

MUMBAI: 20 Sept 2016:
Heavy rains since Tuesday morning led traffic to slow down across the city. Western Express Highway was affected the most with the southbound traffic moving slowly till afternoon.

21 September 2016
Since Yesterday night it was raining in Visakhapatnam, and morning of 21 Sept. 2016 the weather was subdued with a moving sizzling and howling wind, and the whooping wind closed all the open windows automatically. Even in the afternoon around 14 h 30 m PM the wind was blowing with howling noise but only intermittently. In the morning till 12 h 30 m PM the weather with moving heavy clouds and occasional rain was dominant. [On 12 October 2014; at 13 h 52 m heavy wind of 180 km speed evolved. The spiralling was anticlockwise. At 14 h 01 m the storm thrust increased speed. The super-cyclone wind was felt and noticed around 14 h 12 m. The power of it increased considerably at around 14 h 50 m may be 220 km achieved. 15 h 25 m the speed slightly reduced and further at 15 h 40 m it reduced again meaning that the cyclone has moved from the coastal region on to the land. The impact of the super cyclone thrashing was on to the hill of God Shiva and Goddess Parvathi idols. The swirling wind of about 245 km/hr, the second part of the havoc was much more severe, it was super-cyclonic and caused damage to all the trees and plants in the city locality, after it lifted off many home and shop coverings mercilessly, of the galvanized iron serrated roof tops. It lasted from 1 h 05 m PM to late night 11 h PM. Many a poor people suddenly became homeless and most of their home appliances and items of living have been totally smashed away. The big trees surrounding the roads have been shattered and fallen down with roots uplifted and became exposed.]

Fig.9 The scene of devastated sea coast
 of Visakhapatnam.
The age old palm trees have been cut and today we note the onset of devastating waves affecting the shore line. Two decades ago the palm trees were dotting the seashore. They were mercilessly axed to make way for concrete jungle on the sea shore. Palm trees have the capacity to withstand wind speeds up to 350 km/hr. They act as a barrier for both high speed wind and water surge.

BENARAS CRAFT HERITAGE ANONYMITY
Vegetable colours replaced by chemical ones. Earlier, Kusum flowers were used for making orange, Kattha for black, Indigo for blue, Turmeric for yellow and Lac for Red were prominent. The Pallu is from Kanjeevaram, the Jaal is from Paithani sarees. People are not working with Naqshbands. Master craftsman know the difference from Kimkhwabs (Gold) and Zarbafi (Silver) and how toembellish textiles with Meenakari and also worked closely with Weavers (kaarigars), block printing experts Kundigaars, darners Raffugaars and dyers Rangrez. British crushed the weaving craft community, introduced power looms, about 140 years ago, and the Royal patronage dried up after Independence. August 7 is now a Handloom Day. China took over, replaced Gold and Silver with Lurex (a shiny metallic thread that makes fabric feel like parchment).  Sept. 25, 2016 Sunday The Hindu.

METEOR FALL AND EARTHQUAKES AT 8:30 PM AND 10:15 PM
Fig. 15 American NASA photo Meteor fall in
 Australia off the coast Queensland.
There are reports a meteorite has landed off the coast of Queensland after hundreds of people reported seeing a flash of light in the sky followed by a tremor. Police received multiple calls from residents around the Gladstone area, who saw the flash of light around 8-30 last night, on 26/09/2016 at possibly 20:27:47 PM. Meanwhile, a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Airlie Beach at around 10.15pm, though there is nothing to suggest it was as a result of the apparent meteor strike. Central Queensland residents have reported bright lights and a loud boom in the night sky, sparking speculation of a meteor strike. A spokesperson for Geosciences Australia confirmed there had been a "tremor" around Gladstone about 8.30pm on Monday and that it wasn't caused by an earthquake. I'm guessing about a rock about a metre across which would have been big enough perhaps to leave fragments. The meteorite most likely impacted somewhere offshore because there were no reports of damage on land. Jacques Reimers was sitting at the beach at Boyne Island when he said he saw the entire thing unfold. It looked like a big as hell shooting star and lit up the beach then about a minute later a big bang and a shock wave came over the water and shook my car little bit was a pritty (sic) awesome experience. Dozens of people took to social media to share their experiences, many describing a “bright flash”, loud “bangs” and their houses “shaking”.

PAST HISTORY
Around 4,700 years ago, a large nickel-iron meteoroid came blazing across the Central Australian sky. It broke apart before striking the ground 145 km south of what is now Alice Springs.
Meteoric events in Indigenous oral tradition?
The fragments carved out more than a dozen craters up to 180 meters across with the energy of a small nuclear explosion. Today, we call this place the Henbury Meteorites Conservation Reserve. Aboriginal people have inhabited the region for tens-of-thousands of years, and it's almost certain they witnessed this dramatic event. But did an oral record of this event survive to modern times. When scientists first visited Henbury in 1931, they brought with them an Aboriginal guide. When they ventured near the site, the guide would go no further. He said his people were forbidden from going near the craters, as that was where the fire-devil ran down from the sun and set the land ablaze, killing people and forming the giant holes. They were also forbidden from collecting water that pooled in the craters, as they feared the fire-devil would fill them with a piece of iron. Recent studies show that Aboriginal traditions accurately record sea level changes over the past 10,000 years. The following year, a local resident asked Luritja elders about the craters. The elders provided the same answer and said the fire-devil "will burn and eat" anyone who breaks sacred law, as he had done long ago. In addition to demonstrating the longevity of Indigenous oral traditions, emerging research shows that these stories can lead to new scientific discoveries. Aboriginal stories about objects falling from the sky have led scientists to meteorite finds they would not have known about otherwise. We anticipate that our work with Aboriginal elders to learn about Indigenous astronomy will lead to new knowledge and cultural insights about natural events and meteorite impacts in Australia.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The author is deeply indebted to Late Prof. K. R. Rao D.Sc. (Madras) D. Sc. (London).  The author also expresses his gratitude to him for the inspiration and constant guidance provided for his research and investigations. A summary of all his disciples and list of publications are listed by the present author and is available on INTERNET. (His life time: 1890 Sept. 9 early morning to 1972 June 20 at 9:10 AM). He was an ardent Hindu Brahmin, wanted the AU, flourish as a Telugu Medium of instruction of Higher Studies possibly has an appetite for richness of Telugu Language and its diverse advances. He was instrumental to establish the AU at Waltair, as he was the regular first appointee of The University (Viswa Vidyalaya). He made attempts to meet the Raja of Jeypore, who was a neighbour resident in Maharanipeta, Visakhapatnam to get the initial grant of Rs One lakh those days to build the JVD College of Science and Technology in 1931-1932. His relative was put in charge of constructing the huge building. He was a lone-some walker along the beach coast to attend his work at the University, (that's of course was a history) JVD College of S & T. Those days people were afraid to walk along these routes, due to thieves and goondas.  He himself built a house NARASIMHA ASHRAM, possibly the first residential building in Maharanipeta, Visakhapatnam. He  believed in ancient thought of dedicated research and education at Higher levels. I am glad an Engineering College started in India, with Hindi courses totally. Soon other languages would pick up. Mother tongue goes a long-way for excellence.
