Jun. 01, 2023: The Assamese manuscript is made out of various writing materials such as Sanchi pat (leaves of Sanchi tree), Sanchi bark (bark of Sanchi tree), Tulapat leaves (leaves of Tula from which cotton is prepared), talpat (palm leaves), and other materials. It is the Sanchipat and Tulapat which were largely used in the primary media for writing, but since Sanchi bark was more widely used so, the manuscript has come to be known as 'Sanchi puthi' or 'Sanchi book'. A study of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on the Sanchi manuscripts states that these were in use since the age of Ramayana i.e., around the 4th century B.C. Since that period, Assam has had a history of these manuscripts.

ABP News Bureau • 6h ago.The planned $3 billion semiconductor facility in India, led by the chip consortium ISMC and involving Israeli chipmaker Tower, has encountered a setback due to Intel's ongoing acquisition of Tower, according to three sources familiar with the matter, as reported by Reuters. This development has dashed India's ambitions in chip manufacturing. Furthermore, a joint venture between India's Vedanta and Taiwan's Foxconn, which had a $19.5 billion plan to build chips locally, is also facing delays as talks with European chipmaker STMicroelectronics to join as a partner has reached an impasse, as per a fourth source with direct knowledge. These challenges pose a significant setback to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aspirations, as he has prioritised chip manufacturing in an effort to attract global companies and propel India into a new era of electronics manufacturing. India anticipates its semiconductor market to be valued at $63 billion by 2026. Last year, three applications were submitted under a $10 billion incentive scheme to establish semiconductor plants, including those from the Vedanta-Foxconn joint venture, ISMC consortium, and Singapore-based IGSS Ventures.

Jun. 03, 2023:  Solar storms have HEATED UP the thermosphere; satellites in danger now. HT Tech • 15m ago. As the Earth still waits for the solar winds that are now expected to hit sometime later today, June 3, and spark a minor solar storm, a far more concerning development is worrying astronomers. As per studies, the thermosphere, which is part of the upper atmosphere, has been pushed higher and turned hotter as a result of multiple solar storms that struck the Earth in 2023. These solar storms have transferred a high amount of energy that has caused the thermosphere to shift upwards and heat up. Now, air is reaching the satellites in the lower orbits of the Earth and this can spell trouble for them.

Nature Photonics (2023): Abstract. The synthesis of ultrashort pulses with simultaneously tailored spatial and temporal properties opens new horizons in multimode photonics, especially when the spatial degree of freedom is controlled by robust topological structures. Current methods to shape space–time beams with correlations between their topological charges and spectral components have yielded fascinating phenomena. However, shaping is currently limited to narrow topological and/or spectral bands, greatly constraining the breadth of achievable spatiotemporal dynamics. Here we introduce a Fourier space–time shaper for ultrabroadband pulses, covering nearly 50% of the visible spectrum and carrying a wide range of topological charges with values up to 80. Instead of relying on a conventional grating with linear geometry, our approach employs a diffractive axicon with circular geometry that allows to impart azimuthal phase modulations to beams carrying orbital angular momentum. We retrieve the spatiotemporal field by introducing a characterization technique based on hyperspectral off-axis holography. The tailoring of linear topological–spectral correlations enables the control of several properties of wave packets, including their chirality, orbital radius and number of intertwined helices, whereas complex correlations allow us to manipulate their dynamics. Our space–time beams with broadband topological content will enable a host of novel applications in ultrafast light–matter excitations, microscopy and multiplexing.

Fig.09 Large effect in Neutron Decay.
Jun, 16,  2023: Broadband control of topological–spectral correlations in space–time beams. Marco Piccardo, et al.  A team of nuclear theorists has uncovered a new, relatively large effect in neutron decay that arises from the interplay of the weak and electromagnetic forces. This research identified a shift in the strength with which a spinning neutron experiences the weak nuclear force. This has two major implications. First, scientists have known since 1956 that due to the weak force, a system and one built like its mirror image do not behave in the same way. In other words, mirror reflection symmetry is broken. This research affects the search for new interactions, technically known as "right-handed currents," that, at very short distances of less than one hundred quadrillionths of a centimeter, restore the universe's mirror-reflection symmetry. Second, this research points to the need to compute electromagnetic effects with higher precision. Doing so will require the use of future high-performance computers.

The five passengers aboard were diving to visit the wreck of the Titanic, located about 12,500 feet below the ocean's surface. The descent is supposed to take about 2½ hours, but about an hour and 45 minutes into its descent, the submersible went silent, CNN reported. No one knows where it is. This speaks to just how extremely difficult it is to find anything underwater, whether it's the size of the Titanic or a small 21-foot-long submersible. The poem, written originally in Russian, has the Wagner group asking Russia: "My bloody, drunken country, what are you doing to me?"
Read the entire poem here:
Everything was decided. Almost.
Shoulder straps not yet broken
And the regiments were not shot,
Not yet red, but green
A field rises by the river.
They are not many and not few years old,
But their fate is sealed.
They are not generals yet.
And the war is not lost.
They have a short moment in reserve
For stormy glory and victories,
Sentimental Beauties
They are looked upon with admiration.
And at the triumphal parades
They are waiting for awards and ranks,
But these scenes are so fatal
And those faces are so pale.
Bloody, drunken,
At least sing, at least howl like a wolf!
My native country.
