ABSTRACT

After the Indian and USA missions held a summit in space after reaching Mars, we are holding a summit meeting here. This is a happy coincidence, Mr. Modi said after meeting with President Obama at the White House. The new gravity data gives us our clearest view yet of the shape of the ocean floor. Decline of Monsoon over 50 years attributed to emissions produced by human activity. Plants might package their beneficial bacteria inside the seed. First snowfall in Gulmarg on Thursday Oct 16, 2014 on the outskirts at Apharwat was enjoyed by tourists. The Moon spectra obtained along with the Mars Planet and other stars in the morning sky remarkably clear weather devoid of the clouds. Giant sunspot AR2192 erupted again on Oct. 24th (21:40 UT), producing a powerful X3-class solar flare. A pulse of extreme UV radiation from the flare ionized the upper layers of Earth's atmosphere. Lightning strikes in Melbourne triggered disruptive power surges. Sydney The city received its highest 24-hour rainfall since September last year, with 25.6mm (one inch). A magnitude-5.6 earthquake rattled Ecuador’s border with Colombia on Monday, Oct 20, 2014 shaking low-lying buildings and frightening residents in the sparsely-populated area. Modi made his first visit to Siachen to join the select Indian Army protecting the border on Deepavali Day of 2014.

Several places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala including Karnataka have received some good rain on Thursday. Oct. 23 in about 24 hours, from 8.30 a.m. Visakhapatnam had the first winter chilly weather since Oct. 25 and people started warring protecting clothes from the cold. Gujarat on Friday, Oct 31, heaved a sigh of relief as the severe cyclonic storm 'Nilofar' further weakened.

FRANCE

Tuesday Sept. 30: Trucks clean the streets covered with mud after heavy rain caused flash floods on the banks of the Lez river in Montpellier, southern France. France declared a state of natural disaster in about 60 southern towns hit by torrential downpours, which also left Montpellier under water. Around 60 towns in the south of France have been officially declared natural disaster sites following severe flooding caused by torrential downpours, Flood waters inundated roads and highways, engulfing cars after the Lez river, which flows by the coastal city of Montpellier, burst its banks. More than 4,000 people across the rain-soaked region spent the night in emergency centers, schools, train stations or the airport, the local government said in a statement.

Volcanic Peaks

The twin volcanic peaks of Maunakea and Maunaloa, still-active Maunaloa, which rises almost 2.5 miles from its base, is both the largest volcano and the second-tallest mountain on earth.

The invention of 20 years old

The invention of 20 years old awarded Nobel show of LED light while the trio took 30 years to develop it, the blue beam semiconductors. These Red, Green and Blue devices already in use in Computer technology not mentioned, in News papers, for the new revolutionary computation and diverse fields of technology breakthroughs. The Nobel Prize in Physics 2014 was awarded jointly to Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and Shuji Nakamura "for the invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes which has enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources". Their work, done in the early 1990s, led to a fundamental transformation of technology for illumination, the committee said. And when the three arrive in Stockholm to collect their awards in early December, "they will hardly fail to notice the light from their invention glowing in virtually all the windows of the city. A desk lamp and an LED torch light are seen on the desk as Nobel Committee for Physics members give a press conference to announce the winners of the 2014 Nobel Prize in ‘Physics.Trio’ who took 30 years to get white light.

MODI’S PRAISE OF SATELLITE TO MARS

Washington DC:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday Sept 30 termed it a "happy coincidence" that his summit meeting with US President Barack Obama took place days after "India-US summit" between the two countries' orbiters over Mars. After the Indian and US missions held a summit in space after reaching Mars, we are holding a summit meeting here. This is a happy coincidence, Mr. Modi said after meeting with President Obama at the White House. Mr. Modi, has repeatedly praised the Indian Space Research Organization’s Mars mission, describing its cost, 74 million dollars, as cheaper.

JOINT MARS MISSION IN 10 YEARS

One of the items agreed at USA by PM of India, Modi and President of USA, Barack Obama, is the joint Mars mission in ten tears time, on Tuesday Sept. 30.

Carambola Fruit Tree

In Telugu ‘ambanamkaya’ the fruit has mention in the epic Ramayana, popularly known as ‘star fruit’, specifically used in Ayurveda Medicine from time immemorial. It has pink flowers cultivated world over as an ornamental plant. The unripe star fruit is full of vitamin C and anti-oxidants. The fruit skin is thin, smooth, waxy usually green but turns light orange-yellow when ripe. The flesh is juicy, crisp as well as translucent light-to-dark yellow in color and does not contain any fiber. Irtinn Ayurveda it is prescribed as a diuretic to treat kidney and bladder complaints. It is also an appetizer. Fresh seeds contain a substance promotes lactation in pregnant woman, stimulates blood flow in the pelvic areas and uterus [dpanjanghosh and zeenaghosh both at gmail.com].

THE NEW GRAVITY DATA OF OCEANS

The new gravity data gives us our clearest view yet of the shape of the ocean floor. It is not every day you can announce the discovery of thousands of new mountains on Earth, but that is what a US-European research team has done. What is more, these peaks are all at least 1.5km high. The reason they have gone unrecognized until now is because they are at the bottom of the ocean.

THE SUN BY 2050!

4 Oct 2014 Hindustan Times: The sun could be the world’s largest source of electricity by 2050, ahead of fossil fuels, wind, hydro and nuclear, according to a pair of reports issued this week by the International Energy Agency (IEA). Solar photovoltaic systems (PV) could generate up to 16% of the world’s electricity by 2050, while solar thermal electricity (STE) from concentrating solar power plants could provide an additional 11%.

MONSOON AFECTED BY AIR POLLUTION

Decline of Monsoon over 50 years attributed to emissions produced by human activity. Researchers at Edinburgh provide clear evidence of human induced rainfall changes. Emissions of tiny particles from man-made sources known as anthropogenic aerosols were the cause. Melting of Arctic ice due to climate change led at least 35000 walruses have beached on a remote Alaskan coastline, experts felt on Wednesday Oct.1.

Mytilopsis sallel
Mytilopsis sallel was first observed in Vizag harbor in 1967, now enlarged, it eradicated more than 90% marine fish. These are 25-30mm small organism’s attaches itself to the hull of a ship in hundreds of layers, affecting hydrodynamics of ship. It increases the drag on the ship and more propulsion power is required. They also stuck to electronic equipment and marine structures that disturb the marine industry. It is adaptive to various climatic conditions, tidal and temperature traits. Turning the pest into revenue is an alternative for research and development by our scientists. Australia spent $2.2million to get the port eradication of the pest.

A treasure hunter from Devon has discovered the biggest hoard of 4th century Roman coins recorded in Britain. Laurence Egerton, a builder, took up metal detecting seven years ago and found 22,000 Roman coins dating from AD260 to AD348. A number of the coins were struck to mark the foundation of Constantinople in AD332, and bear the image of Emperor Constantine the Great.

COSMIC RAYS HAZARDS

Starting in about 2006 the longest solar minimum and weakest solar activity observed. This caused highest intensities of galactic cosmic rays, caused worsening of radiation hazards. Solar wind is exhibiting extremely low densities and magnetic field strengths, which allows dangerous radiation to pervade space environment. Crewed missions to Mars need to be reexamined.

Mangalyaan in good health after encounter with comet Siding Spring

A comet the size of a small mountain whizzed past Mars on Sunday 12 Oct 2014, dazzling space enthusiasts with the once-in-a-million-years encounter. ISRO on Thursday 16 Oct 2014 had repositioned its Mars Orbiter Mangalyaan to avoid collision. The comet, known as Siding Spring (C/2013 A1), made its closest encounter with Mars on Sunday at 2.27pm (1827 GMT), racing past the Red Planet at a breakneck 126,000 miles (203,000 km) per hour. At its closest, Siding Spring was 87,000 miles (139,500 km) from Mars, about a third the distance between Earth and our moon. Before the comet passed, it could be seen in space racing toward the brightly illuminated Red Planet, trailed by a cloud of debris.  Scientists said the comet's passing offered a unique chance to study its impact on Mars's atmosphere.

GLOWING SUN
AR2192 has an unstable 'beta-gamma-delta' magnetic field that harbors energy for powerful explosions, and the active region is turning toward Earth. NOAA forecasters estimate a 95% chance of M-class flares and a 55% chance of X-flares during the next 24 hours. Since the week began, giant sunspot AR2192 has produced 27 C-class solar flares, 8 M-class flares, and 2 X-flares.

Among all those displays, October 24th was unique and unforgettable. As our group approached one of my favorite photo-spots, we noticed a beautiful strand of auroras stretching from one horizon to another. As the display grew, the strands slowly developed into a pulsating wave of flashing green lights.                   Giant sunspot AR2192 erupted again on Oct. 24th (21:40 UT), producing a powerful X3-class solar flare. A pulse of extreme UV radiation from the flare ionized the upper layers of Earth's atmosphere, causing a brief but strong blackout of HF radio communications over the dayside of Earth. Coronagraph data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) suggest that the explosion did not hurl a significant CME toward our planet (Interestingly, none of the X-flares from this active region has so far produced a major CME).
