ABSTRACT
Two medium intensity earthquakes hit the Andaman, 4.7R at 6.19PM, and Nicobar at 8:05PM with magnitude 4.5R, archipelago within a span of two hours on Sunday. Oct 1, 2017: Sagarnagar: Rushikonda beach marine tower on the left ITsez coastal drive way has collapsed due to sea erosion. Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya have caused flooding in the districts of Lakhimpur, South Salmara, Goalpara, Hojai and Karbi Anglong. At least 86 villages in seven revenue circles had been affected by the fresh wave of deluge with Goalpara on the Assam-Meghalaya border being the worst-hit. 2 Oct 2017: Heavy rains battered Kurnool cultivation fields sumerged and also Rayalseema, Vijayanagaram, Parvathipuram, Bobile, Salur, S.Kota, Paderu, Hukumpeta, G.Madugala, Mandals it rained. Oct 3, 2017: Downpour in Hyderabad halted traffic for more than 5 hours and seven people died due to lightning and rain-related accidents. A weather phenomena called cloudburst’. October 04, 2017: 3-fold raise in extreme rainfall events in central India. A protein found in egg whites, as well as in tears, saliva and milk of mammals, can be used to generate electricity. This uses degenerate Fermi Gas instead of use of thermal gases. 11 Oct. 2017: An unusual incident of smoke emanating from the earth's crust was reported at MK Palli village of Halaharvi Mandal in Kurnool district on Wednesday. The incident occurred with a big sound at around 7 am. The phenomenon was seen up to a distance of one km from the spot. When the farmers were on their way to the fields, the incident occurred, caused them to panic among the farmers and also people in the nearby locality. Strange sounds have also been reported from the location. The movement of the Earth’s crust in the black soil might have resulted in the smoke and weird sounds. Sounds and smoke comes from under ground in Kurnool District here. This news was telecasted on Wednesday 11 of October 2017 06:01 AM. Smoke rose to a height and has fallen down with mysterious thunder-like sound. By the time officials reached the place it subsided. 10 Oct. 2017: Multiple micro-quakes felt in Gannavaram Mandal since two days. The number is about 8 during the last three days in the Mandal. Mustabad, Chinna Autapalli, Kesarpalli and other villages felt the tremors 2.58PM on Thursday. and on Tuesday the tremors were of magnitude 1.7R and 1.6R occurred at 10.18M and 11.01 PM respectively in many villages. The buildings vibrated, for nearly three seconds, in the middle of class and students felt something strange and began shouting, and situation became normal even before people came out of class rooms, in Chinna Avutapalli. Five micro-quakes were noticed on October 10, 2017, but they were not felt by people. 12 Oct. 2017: A micro-quake of magnitude 2.5R caused panic among several villages in the Gannavaram Mandal on Thursday. PUNE: A 101mm record rainfall in just one hour on Friday afternoon brought the city to its knees with roads getting waterlogged, traffic crawling during the evening peak hours and power supply failing in several areas. 13 October 2017 08:00 AM: Crop loss in AP may exceed Rs 100-crore mark. Coimbatore: The city received heavy rainfall that went on for almost five hours on Friday and at least a couple of hours on Saturday, 14 Oct. 2017. While the rain gauge placed at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University recorded 80mm of rainfall, the one at Peelamedu recorded 23mm. 14 Oct. 2017: Reports from the villages reported that few cement roads developed deep cracks and were damaged in sections and traffic to a halt. Tremors were felt in four villages of Beluguppa and Dravakonda mandal of Anatapur district on Saturday evening scaring villagers out of their houses. Tremors were felt for about 9 seconds in the Ramasagaram and Jeedipalli villages, and felt the tremors at the same time. Some houses developed cracks on their outer walls. This is a second time that the tremors were felt in the district. 15 October 2017; North-westerly winds carrying pollutants from Punjab and Haryana have exacerbated Delhi's poor air quality.

Sunday, October 1, 2017, 15:27 Scientists discover whole-planet aurora on Mars triggered by solar storm: Thanks to MAVEN, scientists have discovered that a solar event has sparked a global aurora at the Martian surface and caused the radiation level to double than highest ever recorded. As per the MAVEN data, a solar event on September 11 triggered the global aurora at Mars more than 25 times brighter than any previously seen by the orbiter. When a solar storm hits the Martian atmosphere, it can trigger auroras that light up the whole planet in ultraviolet light. The recent one lit up Mars like a light bulb.
Sunday, October 1, 2017, 23:13 [IST]:A fresh wave of floods has hit Assam, submerging five districts and affecting 78,275 people. The North-eastern state, which was recuperating after several rounds of floods this year, again saw 306 acres of land submerged in the fresh wave. Nearly 16,000 animals and poultry had also been affected. Rains across the state and in neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya have caused flooding in the districts of Lakhimpur, South Salmara, Goalpara, Hojai and Karbi Anglong. At least 86 villages in seven revenue circles had been affected by the fresh wave of deluge with Goalpara on the Assam-Meghalaya border being the worst-hit.

1 Oct and 2 Oct  2017: Heavy rains battered Kurnool cultivation fields sumerged and also Rayalseema, Vijayanagaram, Parvathipuram, Bobile, Salur, S.Kota, Paderu, Hukumpeta, G.Madugala, Mandals it rained. Guntur Zillah had rain since Sunday 1 Oct. 2017, till midnight it rained non stop heavily. Monday morning till 8 AM 41 Mandals about 11.8 mm, in Pedanandipadu it rained 52.4 mm Amarthlur, Guntur Mandals it rained 43mm, Bapatla, Kakumanu 40.2mm. All streams are overflowing and affected Cotton, Banana, Minumulu, Onion Yellow flower (pasupu), and Mokkajonna crops were submerged. Anatapuram registered 87mm and in several Mandals from 30 to 73.8mm rainfall registered. Kadapa zillah Sunday night it rained heavily about 40.8mm. About 600 lakes received rainwater. In Telangana several places had lightning strikes. In Hyderabad heavy rains lashed on Monday evening.
October 03, 2017 03:41 AM and 13:45 IST: Downpour in Hyderabad halted traffic for more than 5 hours and seven people died due to lightning and rain-related accidents. A weather phenomena called ‘cloudburst’. Heavy rain lashed Hyderabad on Monday evening that took lives of three people in rain-related incidents.67.6 mm of rainfall was recorded in the city from around 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM and the rainfall was mainly due to the monsoon. Water logging in various parts of  Hyderabad after heavy and incessant rainfall. 5000 food packets being readied. The downpour led to inundation of several low-lying areas and traffic moved at a snail's pace due to water-logging at different places in the city. With the end of September, the monsoon in India also draws to a close. At the end of the four months, India received 841.3mm of rain, five per cent below the normal rainfall of 887.5mm.

October 04, 2017: 3-fold raise in extreme rainfall events in central India. The frequency and intensity of extreme rainfall, more than 150mm per day for two-three days covering area of 250 by 250km, over central India from Gujarat in the west in Odisha and Assam in the east has been on the rise. The northern Arabian Sea is becoming increasingly warm, leading to more moist air cover over the Arabian Sea. It contributes 36%of the total moisture to Central India while Bay of Bengal contributes 26% moisture and Indian Ocean just 9%. Land evaporation contributes 29% moisture much more than the Bay of Bengal. (Nature Communications).

CAIRO, 5 October (BelTA - Xinhua) - Archeologists have discovered part of a Pharaonic obelisk dating back to about 4,300 years ago in Saqqara district on the outskirt of Egypt's Giza Province, the chief of the country's Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) said in a statement Wednesday. SCA Secretary General Mostafa al-Waziri revealed the discovery of the upper part of an obelisk belonging to ancient Egyptian Queen Ankhesenpepi II, mother of Pharaonic King Pepi II of the Sixth Dynasty who ruled Egypt from 2278 to 2184 BC.Friday 6 Oct. 2017: Visakhapatnam had heavy rain from early morning till 11 A.M and in the evening it rained slightly at several places. 
Oct 05, 2017, 16:49 IST Incessant rains cause waterlogging in Bengaluru. Heavy rains have once again returned to lash Bengaluru on Thursday causing traffic jams across the city. Hundreds of vehicles are stranded in various parts of the city due to waterlogging. Most of the low-lying areas of the city are inundated leaving many drains overflowing.

Oct 06, 2017, 17:30 IST Watch: Heavy rains lash Mumbai. Darkness engulfed Mumbai's streets as heavy rains lashed the city. Another round of downpour has affected the normal life. Mumbai witnessed rains accompanied by loud thunder on Friday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said such thundershowers are expected to continue over the weekend.

 6 October (BelTA - Xinhua) - Tropical Storm Nate has killed seven people in Costa Rica and led to the evacuation of some 5,000 others, President Luis Guillermo Solis said on Thursday. Nate sparked heavy downpours in the Central American region since Wednesday, dumping up to 215 liters of rain per square meter in Costa Rica. The storm toppled 41 trees, caused 12 mudslides, and flooding in 32 communities, the fire department said. The area hit hardest is western Guanacaste, where flooding has been severe.
               Infrared light provides valuable temperature data to forecasters and cloud top temperatures give clues about highest, coldest, strongest storms within a hurricane. Hurricane Nate weakened to a tropical storm after making landfall twice on the U.S. Gulf Coast Saturday (Oct. 7), but its approach as a category 1 storm was captured earlier in the day by satellites

The village in Periyapatna local body, where the incident occurred, is about 40 km from Mysuru city. Six persons, including two women, died and four others were injured on Thursday when lightning struck them in Mysuru. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. when a 10 member group rushed to take shelter under a tree near the temple in Hunaswadi village due to heavy rain and thunderstorm. This is the second instance in the past two weeks, of a lightning strike claiming lives in Karnataka.Another death occurred in the same district’s Yenne Vadahera village when 30-year-old Nagappa Hosanavar succumbed after lightning struck him.  Friday, 29 Sept 2017 at 09:36: : In Yadagiri district’s Goudigere village, three children died after lightning struck them.  One adult also died from lightning strike.

Tropical Storm Nate, which formed Thursday and is projected to possibly hit the U.S. Gulf Coast this weekend as a hurricane, has left at least 22 people dead as it makes its way across Central America.Tropical Storm Nate’s path is forecast to brush across the tip of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula early Friday 6 Oct. 2017, night, then later hit the U.S. Gulf Coast as a hurricane by Sunday morning.
6 October 2017:Nate Wreaks Havoc From Coast to Coast In Nicaragua:  At least 15 dead reported in Nicaragua as tropical storm moves north on a collision course with the northern U.S. Gulf Coast- Moving up from Costa Rica, Tropical Storm Nate’s arrival in Nicaragua followed two weeks of near-constant rain that had left the ground saturated and rivers are swollen.
6 Oct 2017: Visakhapatnam coastal region at several places shows the  RIP current swirllings. Dripper instrument has two cell phones, two sensors, above them an antenna have been released into the sea. Around Yoga village area identified and an atlas maybe generated.
7 Oct. 2017: Visakhapatnam received heavy rain falls so far for this month, many parts of East Godavari district had only moderate rains. Routhulapudi in Visakhapatnam district received 10.5cm rain from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM, while Rajahamundry recieved 6.825cm heavy rainfall. This rainfall would continue for few more days. Visakhapatnam had heavy shower during the night of 6/7 Oct. 2017 and again slight showers in the day time on the 7 Oct. 2017. Rayalseema received heavy rainfall on Saturday, 7 Oct. 2017.

First week of this month rains were recorded at 63.30cm. Rajahmundry on Saturday had throughout the day the rainfall. Guntur  zillah had occasional rains. Zillah experienced rains during the last four days it affected Cotton, Minimulu, Bopai crops. Nagavalli, Suvarnamukhi, Vengalarai sagar, Champavathi river are flowing at full bloom.    


Oct 07, 2017 10:06 am: Tropical storm Nate bears down on Mexico, US Gulf coast leaving 26 dead in Central America. Cancun (Mexico): Tropical Storm Nate gained strength Friday 6 Oct 2017,as it barrelled toward popular Mexican beach resorts and ultimately the US Gulf coast after dumping heavy rains on Central America that left at least 26 people dead. Nate, which currently has 85 kilometre per hour winds, is forecast to reach hurricane strength by the time it makes landfall in the United States tomorrow, on the north coast of the Gulf of Mexico. 
A strong earthquake late Friday 6 Oct. 2017,shook north-eastern Japan off the coast of Fukushima, the region hit by a massive quake and tsunami in 2011 that triggered a nuclear plant meltdown, but there were no reports of damage or injuries. The Japan Meteorological Agency said there was no danger of a tsunami. It said the quake struck at about midnight and measured a preliminary magnitude of 5.9. It was centered about 50 km (30 miles) below the ocean's surface.
07 October 2017: 11:22, UK, Saturday: Shooting stars could be visible on Saturday and Sunday night as the annual Draconid meteor shower takes place. The Draconid meteor shower happens every October and is caused by the comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner, which orbits the Sun every 6.6 years.This weekend Earth will pass through the cloud of debris and space dust left behind by the comet. This will cause shooting stars to appear in the sky as the debris burns up after entering the atmosphere. The Draconid meteor shower has produced thousands of meteors an hour in peak years.

Oct 7, 2017, 20:27 IST: HYDERABAD: City is likely to witness another spell of  heavy rainfall on Sunday 8 Oct 2017. Hyderabad issued a thunderstorm associated with heavy rainfall warning  7 Oct 2017 on Saturday. According to the IMD, Hyderabad forecast, the southwest monsoon over Telangana has been active in the last 24 hours due to which not only Hyderabad but various other districts too will experience light to moderate rain/thundershowers during the weekend. "With the formation of another cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal,  which is moving westwards towards Odisha and West Bengal, the state is expected to witness rainfall for at least five more days,"

In Himachal Pradesh, professional cyclists rode through the interiors of several towns and villages, while cutting through streams on the way as part of the Hero MTB Himalaya race. The race was held to promote hygiene and eradicate open defecation in the areas through which the cycling path runs.

Oct, 09 2017 23:11:53 IST: Bhubaneshwar: Odisha is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rain and gusty surface wind in the next two days due to the formation of a depression over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Bay of Bengal. Under its impact, rain and thundershowers are likely to occur in most parts of north Odisha and in several areas in south Odisha districts in the next 24 hours. Many parts of Odisha have been lashed by downpour for the last couple of days because of a cyclonic circulation and low pressure.

Ananthpur, Kurnool and Kadapa flooded as rain batters Rayalseema in 24x7 days with a downpour due to upper Air cyclonic circulation with Ananthpur received 12.65cm, in 24 hours period Oct. 8 to Oct 9, Kadapa received 15.25cm, Yagantipalle of Kurnool received 7.575cm rainfall. Vehicular traffic disrupted in Kadapa with 15.25cm rain. Local stream at Kaluvalala village overflowed. Kaaddivanka stream also overflowed with flood water. Kurnool rain water breaches causeways, snapping road links in more than 20 places. 30 villages waterlogged. Irrigation tanks overflowed. Palar river in Kuppam, Gargeya in Western mandal are in spate, tanks in Irala mandal overflowed. 
350 families moved from low-lying areas to higher landsand were told not to return till Tuesday afternoon. Anatapur, received after 17 years, non-stop rain from Sunday night to Monday evening. 10.9cm rain occurred. 561 lakes got full. Byravan Tippa received 50% water. Chittoor received 17.32cm, Anathpuram recieved 12.98cm, Kadapa received 13.11cm, Kurnool received 7.12cm and in Hyderabad last 9 days it received 19.07cm (410% excess over normal).   Mandyariver in spate flows over Masapeta , bridge. Neeva breaches banks after 22 years and water entered low-lying colonies in Veerabhadra colony of Chittoor district. Residents of 9 colonies were asked to take shelter at Thena Banda school.
In 15 years for the first time in a decade and half KanchalammaTank overflowed in Rayachoti town. Mandya river in spate flows over Masapeta Bridge. In Kurnool rain water breaches causeways, snapping road links in more than 20 places.  About 30 villeges were water logged. The heavy rains broughta great deal of relief, since the tanks in Kurnool district got filled and people happy as there won't be watercrisis in the area till next summer. Several villages were filled with water inundating them.
Erravague overflowing national high way stopped for two hours. As many as 20 villages were cut off from the rest of district for three hours in Sunduplli with heavy inflow in Pincha and Bahuda rivulets. Two irrigation tanks breached in Ramapuram and Veerabhalli mandals in Kadapa. IMD reports upper air circulation tilting south-westwards at a height of 3.6km above mean sea level. Rainfall intensity was Indulur, Kadapa 15.25cm, Anatapuram town 12.65cm, Madanapalle Chittoor 11.1cm, Chowdepalle Chittoor 10.75cm, Raptdu, Anantapur 10.425cm, Kolamasanopalli Chittoor 10.35cm and Palujar Kurnool 7.85cm. 20 villages cutoff from Kadapa in Sundupalli mandal. tabommaliand RaVisakhapatnam received moderate rainfall of 3cm. Padmanabham in Visakhapatnam received 3.825cm rain. Anakapalli received 3.55cm rain. Denkond in Vijayanagaram received 3.825cm while Santabommali and Ragolu in Srikakulam received 3cm rainfall.

10 Oct. 2017: Multiple micro-quakes felt in Gannavaram Mandal since two days.  The number is about 8 during the last three days in the Mandal. Mustabad, Chinna Autapalli, Kesarpalli and other villages felt the tremors 2.58PM on Thursday.  and on Tuesday the tremors were of magnitude 1.7R and 1.6R occurred at 10.18M and 11.01 PM respectively in many villages. The buildings vibrated, for nearly three seconds, in the middle of class and students felt something strange and began shouting, and situation became normal even before people came out of class rooms, in Chinna Avutapalli. Five micro-quakes were noticed on October 10, 2017, but they were not felt by people. The quakes occurred at a depth of 19km other than these, five were small ones part of the swarm activity. In 2016 also swarm activity occurred in Nellore district. In the city also recorded micro-quakes of 1.6R,on Tuesday night. Thursday afternoon too the observatory reported a shock. 
10 Oct. 2017: The Chitravathi River breaches its banks after a decade, five farmers and 500 sheep moved to safety in Ramaduru village. A youth carried his sick friend on shoulder when Neeva was in spate.
Estimates this year Bangalore Rs. 1,664 crores and Hyderabad Rs.91 crore for just road repairs and permanent flood prevention measures not detailed out.
8 lakh people in about 50 divisions, bear the brunt of rain in Kurnool as Tungabhadra River, Handri River, KC Canal, and Akkileru Vaagu (stream) have no system of smooth discharge of rain water.
Heavy rain in Karnataka for next two days, The presence of a trough off the coast of Odisha and West Bengal is resulting in the formation of rain bearing clouds. A cyclonic circulation north of Goa, and near Central Maharashtra is present. The traffic disputed between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Rains lashed more than six hours inundating Houses in low-lying areas, bridges Ladethadihalli and Lokanahalai were submerged. The Hanur taluka known as most backwards from past ten years. Witnessed highest rains in last two decades that has brought relief among the farming community.
Floods due to intermittent heavy rainfall brought wreak havoc in Rayalaseema. The Tungabhadra River is in spate with inflows from various tributaries. Srisailam received heavy inflows from Jurala and upstream of Handri. A Temple under construction at Jawaharpuram in Kurnool city is surrounded by floodwaters as heavy rain lashed Rayalaseema  for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. Over 20 villages remained cut off from the rest of the district.
Anatapuram 716 lakes filled with rain water. After 8 years Hindhriin Kurnool district is overflowing. Kadapa after 10 years has flood in Gandikota. Releasing water to Mylavaram project. Zillaha Pincha and Annamaya projects full and hence gates opened.  Chittoor zillah on Tuesday evening 900lakes water full, 1500 lakes 70% water filled, about 50 to 60 TMC water sank in the Earth. Koundishya reservoir 90% was full with water. For one and half years there won't be a problem of drinking water.
Kurnool Zillaha after 2009 year only now Hindhi River got full. From Monday mid-night to Tuesday morning non-stop rain with Krishnagiri 12.62cm,Devankonda 10.73cm, Velurthi 10.55cm, Nandikottur 9.70cm, Emiganur 8.96cm, Pedakadulur 8.62cm, Kodumur 8.26cm rainfall recorded. After 15 years Chitravati River is flowing ferrociously. Vedavathi, Swarnamukhi and Papagnimaddileru are also overflowing. Out of 1263 lakes water filled 716 lakes. After 17years the Vedavathi River built Bhairvani Thippa project received water. Yogivemana project recorded 900MCST water.

Hence, the metropolitan police arrived to check how the UP police utilities the applications provided by the company. The four-member team will also visit the Delhi and Mumbai to check the working of the police in those cities.
Oct, 10 2017 07:45:55 IST: Heavy rains along with squally winds lashed Kolkata and southern districts of West Bengal on Monday affecting flight and train movements, waterlogging major thoroughfares and bringing traffic to a halt. The rains, which began on Sunday night, continued on Monday, throwing normal life off gear on the first working day of the week. Trees were uprooted and roads flooded in areas like New Alipur, Narkeldanga, Gariahat and Jadavpur. Slow traffic movements were reported from some parts of the city including the EM Bypass, NSC Bose Road and Commissariat Road. Under the influence of deep depression over Gangetic West Bengal, heavy to very heavy (7-20 cm) rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy (over 20 cm) fall is likely over Gangetic West Bengal during next 48 hours
Oct, 10 2017 14:51:40 IST: Several cities in South India bore the brunt of unusually heavy rainfall in the last week even as the monsoon prepares to leave the country. Among other cities, life in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mysuru came to a standstill after the sudden high-intensity downpours. On 5 October, Bengaluru witnessed 65mm rainfall, which was the highest rainfall in a day in the city since 2007. On the same day, six people were killed and four injured when lightning struck a temple in a Mysuru village, Weather patterns are now becoming more and more difficult to analyse and hence predict.

IMD expects heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal and heavy rains over Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka today. It also forecast strong winds with speed reaching 30-­40 kmph, gusting to 50 kmph, over Gangetic West Bengal, east Jharkhand and north Odisha. Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is also very likely at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Coastal Karnataka, Interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu and Puducherry.

11 Oct. 2017:  An unusual incident of smoke emanating from the earth's crust was reported at MK Palli village of Halaharvi mandal in Kurnool district on Wednesday. The incident occurred with a big sound at around 7 am. The phenomenon was seen up to a distance of one km from the spot. When the farmers were on their way to the fields, the incident occurred, caused them to panic among the farmers and also people in the nearby locality. Strange sounds have also been reported from the location. The movement of the Earth’s crust in the black soil might have resulted in the smoke and weird sounds. Sounds and smoke comes from under ground in Kurnool District here. This news was telecasted on . Smoke rose to a height and has fallen down with mysterious thunder-like sound. By the time officials reached the place it subsided.
12 Oct. 2017: A distraught women stands before her house which collapsed in the heavy rain in  Itukalakonda village in Polavaram. Heavy downpour continues in the state with rivers in spate and reservoirs close to their maximum capacity. Srisailam reservoir almost full dspite outflow of 69,000cusecs as inflows at a whopping 1.47 lakh cusecs. Water level now is at 884.4ft while reservoir full level is at 885ft. Reservoir gates would be lifted on Thursday 12 Oct. 2017.People living along banks of Handri Tungabhadra are being moved to safer places. 265 tmcft now available in 634 irrigation tanks in Kurnool District. Polavaram 17cm, Srisailam 14cm, Pattikanda 7cm, Santhipuram 6cm, Venkatagiri 6cm and Vinjamur 6cm precipitation recorded. Next four days east central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood low-pressure zone might form. The cyclone circulation over Madhya Maharashtra and the neighbourhood extends between 3.1km and 4.5km above the mean sea level. Another prevails over south-end Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea, extending up to 5.8km above mean sea level. 19 tribal villages were cut off from main land with water overflowing the Kothuru causeway. 600acres of land in Pattiseema stagnated as there is no outlet.

 VIJAYAWADA: Heavy rains that are lashing Rayalaseema region for past few days have brought bag of woes to the farmers, who were suffering losses due to years of drought in the region. The situation is no different in twin Godavari districts, Guntur and Vizianagaram of Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Farmers incurred heavy losses. Farmers in all eight districts of the state have suffered crop loss due to heavy rains for past two weeks. Though officials have pegged the loss at Rs 22 crore, some admitted that it may cross the Rs 100-crore mark as commercial and horticulture crops have suffered severe damage. The area facing crop loss stood at 21,500 hectares on Thursday evening. Crop damage was reported in Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Chittoor, West Godavari, Guntur, Vizianagaram and East Godavari districts.7,829 hectares of crop damaged in Kurnool district alone; 4,200 hectares in Anantapur: 1,100 hectares in Kadapa district: Rs 50 lakh worth of onions, which were ready for sale in the market got washed away in the heavy rains in Aspari village.

The horseshoe-shaped string of active volcanos in the Pacific Ocean has lived up to its 'Ring of Fire' name in the past month. Shinmoedake volcano in southwestern Japan on Oct. 12. Volcanic smoke rises from the Shinmoedake volcano after its eruption in the border of Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures, south-western Japan. An ash plume rose 1,700 meters (5,580 feet) from the crater Thursday and ash fell on cities and towns in Miyazaki prefecture.started erupting Wednesday for the first time in about six years. Alert raised 2 to 3 on scale of 5. Students attended school wearing protective gear from Ash etc. of the volcano.

13 Oct. 2017: PUNE: A 101mm record rainfall in just one hour on Friday 13 Oct. 2017, afternoon brought the city to its knees with roads getting waterlogged, traffic crawling during the evening peak hours and power supply failing in several areas.The latest downpour, though a combination of convection and a system over the northeast Arabian sea, adjoining Konkan and Gujarat, was still part of the monsoon flow over Maharashtra.

Coimbatore: The city received heavy rainfall that went on for almost five hours on Friday and at least a couple of hours on Saturday, 14 Oct. 2017. While the rain gauge placed at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University recorded 80mm of rainfall, the one at Peelamedu recorded 23mm. The surprise showers led to massive traffic jams on Mettupalayam Road, parts of Avinashi Road and Ramnagar due to waterlogging. The heavy showers have been attributed to a weather trough that is extending from the east and central parts of the Bay of Bengal up to Kerala and a cyclonic circulation over South Karnataka. The weather trough is crossing central and western parts of Tamil Nadu, thus bringing rain to parts of Coimbatore and nearby areas.
14 Oct. 2017:Conservation officials say it is common for the jelly creatures to wash up in the spring as water temperatures rise, but added they were surprised by the vast number. It’s very unusual that you have so many thousands of them washed up in one place. It’s a common species around the west coast and around NZ and they do wash up, usually in tens or hundreds. Bangalore records the highest rainfall in 115. The annual rainfall for the city, 1615.2mm as on Saturday morning more than earlier record in 2005 of 1606.8mm. 
14 Oct. 2017: Reports from the villages reported that few cement roads developed deep cracks and were damaged in sections and  traffic to a halt. Tremors were felt in four villages of Beluguppa and Dravakonda Mandal of Anatapur district on Saturday evening scaring villagers out of their houses. Tremors were felt for about 9 seconds in the Ramasagaram and Jeedipalli villages, and felt the tremors at the same time. Some houses developed cracks on their outer walls. This is a second time that the tremors were felt in the district.
15 October 2017; North-westerly winds carrying pollutants from Punjab and Haryana have exacerbated Delhi's poor air quality. Air quality in the capital is set to remain 'very poor' for the next 48 hours. In neighbouring Noida, it fell from 'moderate' to 'poor' in the last 24 hours.
