The construction of India's first vertical lift sea bridge is almost 84 per cent complete and it is expected to be inaugurated by March 2023, confirmed the Ministry of Railways on Saturday. The new Pamban Bridge connects the holy Rameswaram island to mainland Tamil Nadu.

This resulted in the creation of some of the most magnificent structures in the world that even today evoke awe in the beholder. Both these temples were active in the 8th and 9th centuries. However, after a volcanic eruption, they were abandoned and forgotten. They were rediscovered in the 19th century. By this time people had forgotten the great Buddhist and Hindu legacy of Indonesia.
Dec. 5, 2022: 4.2-magnitude earthquake hits Sri Lanka. Yesterday 11:38 pm. As per the NCS, the depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground. It occurred at around 18:38:39 IST. An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 struck 412 km ENE of Colombo, Sri Lanka on Sunday.

IIT Madras researchers develop, deploy wave energy generator off Tamil Nadu coast. Sethu Pradeep • 2h ago. Researchers at IIT Madras have developed and deployed a system that could generate electricity using energy from sea waves. The system, dubbed Sindhuja-I, was deployed by the researchers about six km from the coast of Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu, where the sea has a depth of about 20 meters. Sindhuja-I can currently produce 100 watts of energy. It will be scaled up to produce one megawatt of energy in the next three years.
Dec. 5, 2022: Earthquake felt under Bay of Bengal near Puri! A large part of Bangladesh shaken, BIG update on TSUNAMI alert. 8h ago. This earthquake occurred in the Bay of Bengal at 8:32 am. The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.2 on the Richter scale. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) also said that this tremor was felt 10 km below the sea level. According to NCS sources, the epicenter was 421 km and 434 km from Puri (East) and Bhubaneswar (East-South-East) respectively.

Dec. 08, 2022: Fast-moving solar winds BREAK magnetic field over Earth; dangerous solar storms to follow. • 6h ago. The solar storm was caused by fast-moving solar winds meeting slower solar winds. When these varying magnetic fields interact among themselves in the upper atmosphere of Earth, it causes a rip in our magnetosphere which is known as a Co-rotating Interaction Region (CIR). This hole in the magnetosphere lets other solar particles easily through it and this can lead to multiple solar storms between today, December 8 and tomorrow December 9.

As per The Met Office, UK's national weather service, temperature inversion or cloud inversion happens when temperature increases with height. The temperature in the troposphere, the lowest part of the atmosphere, usually reduces with height. However, at times, a small layer can form where the temperature escalates with height and it is called inversion. Even though inversion can occur all year round, it mostly occurs during winter when mist and fog become trapped in the cooler air beneath.

Dec.13, 2022: Magnetic Substorm sparks fascinating Auroras over Norwegian sky! Yesterday 11:28 am. Just yesterday, a magnetic substorm resulted in the appearance of Auroras over the sky of Tromso, Norway. "We were all so blown away, speechless really. This was only the 2nd-best display of pink I have ever seen.? Although auroras are usually green in color, they can appear as pink sometimes too. Green auroras are formed when energy particles hit the oxygen atoms at 100 km to 300 km from the surface of the planet. But when particles hit at a height lower than 100 km, it results in the formation of pink auroras.

The most luminous type of Active Galactic Nuclei is Quasar. It contains the supermassive black hole at the center. One of the least known subtype of Quasars are: Weak emission-Line Quasars. Their recognizable feature are weak emission-lines. The primary goal of PhD thesis is to evaluate the global parameters such as: the black hole mass, the accretion rate, spin of the black hole, and the inclination of weak emission-line quasars based on the continuum fit method. This method apart from the literature black hole masses estimation methods does not depend on the observed Full Width at Half Maximum of emission line, which could be biased due to the weakness or lack of the emission lines in these quasars. Using the Spectral Energy Distribution of quasars, I have fitted the geometrically thin and optically thick accretion disk model described by Novikov \& Thorne equations. I have obtained the model of the continuum of the accretion disk for the 10 weak emission-line quasars. The second project concerned the description of abnormal, deep absorption of SDSS J110511.15+530806.5 quasar. I checked the correctness of the thesis posed that corona and warm skin concept above/around an accretion disk explain this phenomenon.

Dec. 14, 2022: One of the most sought-after quests in the realms of physics is achieving fusion power, or replicating what the Sun does, on Earth. And for the first time, scientists in the United States of America have achieved this, albeit just marginally, by producing a nuclear fusion reaction that released more energy than what was used to power the reaction. It’s a small net energy gain, but a big step in fusion research, from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory military facility. This unlimited source of energy is carbon-free and clean, and if harnessed in the future, could lead to an energy revolution on Earth. "It is the first time it has ever been done in a laboratory anywhere in the world. Simply put, it is one of the most impressive scientific feats of the 21st century,” said Jennifer M. Granholm., the US Secretary of Energy, in an official announcement Tuesday. Dec. 15, 2022: Indian PhD student Rishi Rajpopat, 27, decoded a rule taught by Panini, master of the ancient Sanskrit language who lived around two-and-a-half-thousand years ago, the report said, adding that Panini’s grammar, known as the Astadhyayi, relied on a system that functioned like an algorithm to turn the base and suffix of a word into grammatically correct words and sentences. However, two or more of Panini’s rules often apply simultaneously, resulting in rule conflicts. Panini taught a “metarule”, traditionally interpreted by scholars as meaning “in the event of a conflict between two rules of equal strength, the rule that comes later in the grammar’s serial order wins”.However, this often led to grammatically incorrect results. Rishi Rajpopat rejected the traditional interpretation of the metarule and argued that Panini meant that between rules applicable to the left and right sides of a word respectively, Panini wanted us to choose the rule applicable to the right side.
Through this, Rishi Rajpopat found the Panini’s “language machine” produced grammatically correct words with almost no exceptions.
