ABSTRACT

The weather pattern at Visakhapatnam and in general in Andhra Pradesh was very complex in the sense that there were continuous rains almost every day with considerable downpour throughout the mid August and to-date. The sky very occasionally, gave a chance to capture the images of the shining stars, the Planets and the Moon. The low depressions that survived along the coast of southern India kept the atmosphere very cloudy and with little sunshine during the day time. The 18th September 2010 Hyderabad city experienced a tornado like cloud formation, with noisy sound harmful to the ears that damaged the standing crops. The earlier it occurred few years ago at Dhumulagudem. The very word in Telugu Dhummula gudem implies dust spiral storm area. The capture of the Cassiopeia constellation stars during the last week of August 2010 was one of an interesting thing since it showed certain violet blue neighborhood in certain regions. The triangular formation of stars and another of the Moon, Venus and a distant bright star was very fascinating in the month of September 2010.

CONCLUSIONS:

The sky at Visakhapatnam has offered a very fascinating view of the scenario of clouds of the successive low depression weather conditions along the southern part of India. The unavoidable green and violet-blue patches which could not have been the refraction of the clouds added to the mystery of the weather.
