MAY 2014 BAFFLING WEATHER

ABSTRACT

Quake experienced at, Narasimha Ashram residence upstairs of the author, at 9h55m PM on Wednesday 21 May 2014, for nearly 12 seconds, measuring 5.8R scale, with possibly a P-wave of disturbance passed by. The downstairs residents have not felt the quake jolt. The epicenter was of 275km southeast of Paradip in Odisha, and tremors might have originated 40kms below seabed.May 27, 2014 the dissolution of depression in Bay of Bengal led to continuous rains in Srikakulum and Vijaya nagaram districts from Sunday (25th) morning with highest rainfall in Kalingapatanam of 230mm till Monday morning. Parvatipuram in Vijayanagaram received 110mm rainfall. Miss Malawath Purna, 13 years tribal girl student of Class IX, in Thadwai APSWRS, from Nizamabad scaled Mount Everest on Sunday with Indian Flag pitched at 6.00AM.  On May 31, 2014 Northern and Eastern areas gales, thunderstorms, hailstorms killed as many as 47 people in New Delhi area. The UK Independent Party won British politics on Monday May 26, 2014 for the first in over 100 years, winning the 24 member of European Parliament seats. On Saturday 31 May 2014, the eruption of Sangeang Api in south of Indonesia produced large cloud of Ash cancelling flights from Australia and Southern Asia.

INTRODUCTION

SOLAR JET FUEL
Synthesized “solar” jet fuel developed successfully with the entire production chain from renewable kerosene obtained directly from sunlight, water and C02 . A method claimed to produce any other fuel such as diesel, gasoline or pure hydrogen in a more sustainable way.  By means of a redox cycle with metals-oxide based materials at high temperatures and Syngas produced by using sunlight, with using carbon-monoxide and water, finally converted to kerosene by using the commercial Fischer-Tropsch technology.

NEWER SOLAR CELL
Northwestern University researchers developed the new solar cell that uses the “tin pervoskite” that achieved 15% more efficiency. Photovoltaic’s solar cells thus with tin pervoskite would reenergize the field.

INDUCTION STOVE
On top of Induction stove a vessel made up of Ferro-magnetic metal or steel when kept produces eddy electric current in the vessel. The resistivity of the vessel metal produces heat energy which heats up the food. The heat energy produced due to induction effect.  When a varying or alternate current is passed through the coil kept below the hot plate a magnetic field is produced around it. This field generates the eddy currents that when passes through the vessel, resistivity produces heat energy, which in turn heats up the food.

SOLAR POWER
BHELL sets up in YEMEN A PV-BASED POWER PLANT AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS IN THE Gulf country. Currently a 400-MW gas turbine-based power plant is being built in Yemen. Also SCHWING STETTER (SSI) India has set up a 100 KWP solar plant installed in Chennai. They expect to boost it up to 600 KWP.

German Success
The German country on 11 May 2014, achieved renewable energy power by 20.5% of total electric consumption.

JACK FRUIT
Jack fruit could be a replacement for wheat, corn and other staple crops under threat of climate change.

EU ban on Alphonso mangoes and WTO
Banned include colocasia (taro, eddo) Momordica (bitter gourd), Solanum melongena (egg-plant) and Trichosanthes sp (snake gourd) along with Alphanso mangoes by the EU since 1 May. This was challenged at the WTO.

GRAVITY RESONANCE SPECTROSCOPY
Quintessence particles that explain the dark energy has been disapproved by an experiment by H. Abele, Austria in a paper given in April 2014, in Physical Review Letters. Low-energy table-top experimental technique to probe gravity, dark energy and dark matter conducted in France supports the idea of neutron coupling with gravity, and helps to probe, the Axion hypothetical particle of dark matter and, the Chameleon field the source of Dark Energy.

FOREIGN VISITORS
Their visit to Araku Valley, Burraha caves, Dumbriguda and Chaparai waterfalls etc. enthralled the foreign visitors on Thursday 22 May 2014.

SILK ROAD PLAN
China to invest billion-dollar fund for maritime silk-road said on Monday May 25, 2014. Project aims at building ports and infrastructure in important littoral countries in Southeast Asia and in Indian Ocean region including Bangla Desh and Sri Lanka.

TECH HELP
The thermogalvanic effect based new technology batteries developed at MIT and Stanford capture waste heat and convert it into electricity. (TOI, Dt.23 May 2014, India). The system can harness even differences in temperatures of the order 500C.

TALAPATRA MEDICINAL VOLUME
Found at Adhanki, in Prakasam Zillaha, a Palm leaves written Medicinal Volume, at Swarna Subba Rao residence, a priest (called Archaka) bilingual both in Tamil and Telugu languages. It describes the Ayurvedic Medicinal treatment of several diseases in about 390 leaves.

JAPANESE FIND
A Japanese firm of Chemicals claims to have created a plastic that emits a blue light when it detects radiation.

MUONIC HYDROGEN AND PROTON RADIUS
The Muons shot into hydrogen gas with 1% in 2S state and next a laser wavelength precisely to correspond to energy difference of 2S and 2P states, atom will jump up in energy then fall down to 1S state. An X-ray photon is released in the process. The energy difference between 2S and 2P states depends on Lamb shift, and this measurement helps detect the Proton Radius.

OBSERVATIONS

INDIAN ROLE – ELEMENT 117
Phys. Rev. Letters confirmed on May 1st, 2014 super-heavy element 117 existence. It emerged when Ca-48 ions at high energies impinged on a specially prepared target of berkelium-249 with 20 protons from Ca and 97 from Bk. The collaboration between SINP, India and GSI Helmholtz in Germany yielded the result. Dubna, in Russia experiments revealed four atoms of nuclei with 117 isotopes with mass number 294 earlier.

RAIN
On the 1 May 2014 also it rained but morning around 5AM. It was decorated with splash of lightning and thunders. There was on morning of Sunday 10 May 2014 rain shower at 2.26AM to 8AM with stray one or two thunders and lightning. The days from 1 May to late night 9 May the heat wave sustained at Visakhapatnam.

EARTHQUAKE UNUSUAL AT PARADIP

Quake experienced at, Narasimha Ashram residence upstairs of the author, at 9h55m PM on Wednesday 21 May 2014, for nearly 12 seconds, measuring 5.8R scale, with possibly a P-wave of disturbance passed by. The downstairs residents have not felt the quake jolt. The Earthquake that took place about 40Km down the Earth, in the sea in Paradip Odisha state.

The epicenter was of 275km southeast of Paradip in Odisha, and tremors might have originated 40kms below seabed. The Quake epicenter is baffling the experts since the origin in North Bay of Bengal is unusual. Nearly 6km of depth thick sediment deposits of river flows exists. What made the Earthquake tremors felt from Madras to Delhi?

On Thursday 22 the waves in the sea have become furious and the milky-white waves were a great attraction to the on lookers till late evening. In my opinion the Earthquake disturbances moved away from their origin sideways along the coast since the 6kms thick sediment prevented the upward thrust of the quake direct at 275kms southeast of Paradip in Odisha state. The quake effect was felt all along the East Coast up to Bhubhaneswar  and parts of Jharkhand.                                                                                                                                                        The quake resulted in upsurge of water in Visakhapatnam on Thursday till evening time. The waves appeared as milky-surf and extended in the beach coast an unusual sight for the beach visitors.

Quake revives fears of nuke plant safety in Kovvada of Ranasthalam in Srikakulam district. A lady spokeswoman ruled the entire Andhra Coastal region as unsafe for nuke plants. The nuclear power plant region experienced for 14 sec (the longest period) on Wednesday. A Professor at Centre for Studies on Bay of Bengal from AU asserts that north coastal region is relatively safe zone for the location of Nuclear Plant.

28 May 2014 Wednesday
A moderate intensity quake rocked the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur early on Wednesday in which several states in the northeast region of India also felt the tremor. An earthquake of magnitude 4.6R and having its epicenter in Myanmar along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur rocked the area at around 8:49 am that the quake lasted for a few seconds. While the neighbouring states of Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura felt the mild jolt, there was no report of any casualty in any of these states. Manipur and all the seven northeastern states are categorized under Zone V in the country's seismological map and hence considered highly active.
UNUSUAL DAY TEMPERATURE

It’s recorded on 22 May 2014, Thursday the day temperature as about 42.60 C. Hot-winds have blown during the day. On the eve the weather had a phenomenal change. The hot-winds moved upward and when they cooled at these heights the gale winds and lightning rain resulted. By 6 O’clock the city covered with thick black clouds. The bizarre wind and gales brought down many electric pillars to the ground. Many trees have fallen on the electric wires. HB colony, MVP colony, Sagarnagar, Adibhatlanagar, Rushikonda, Endad, Padbhanabham, Bimilli, Anadapuram, Arilova, Visahalakshinagar, Hanumanthwalka and other places were affected and electric wires broken have fallen down along with electric poles. Lightning was responsible to kill three people. May 22nrd rain with heavy winds lash disturbed north coastal Andhra and lightning killed two people in Bobbili. But on 23 May it was again the scorching heat wave in Vizag.

RAIN DAYS
The afternoon of 24 May 2014 the weather has changed around 2h30mPM, with temperatures lowered and on 25 May whole day it was a cool weather and in the afternoon it rained from 3 to 5pm.     May 25, 2014 heavy rain brought relief to Visakhapatnam at 5.30PM with 4.6mm on Sunday. 26 May began with a cool pleasant weather in the morning.

May 27, 2014 the dissolution of depression in Bay of Bengal led to continuous rains in Srikakulum and Vijaya nagaram districts from Sunday (25th) morning with highest rainfall in Kalingapatanam of 230mm till Monday morning. Parvatipuram in Vijayanagaram received 110mm rainfall.

On Saturday 31 May 2014, the eruption of Sangeang Api in south of Indonesia produced large cloud of Ash cancelling flights from Australia and Southern Asia.

Thunderstorms of North East
May 31, 2014 Northern and Eastern areas gales, thunderstorms, hailstorms killed as many as 47 people in New Delhi area. Delhi itself recorded 14 deaths on Saturday 31st.  A massive thunderstorm hit several states around Delhi on Friday evening and on Saturday morning. 6 people killed in Jaunpur district, five in Etah and three in Barabanki. Highest temperature recorded was 45.60C.  In Jharkhand seven persons were killed in a storm on Saturday morning.   Morning at 4h30AM Saturday storm struck, trees were uprooted in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Latehar and a few districts.  Five people died in Murshidabad, three were killed in Purulia and two in Burdwan. Western Bengal 12 died due to the rain thundershowers that struck in three districts.  29 people were injured. Odisha state in Ganjam Zillaha, Saturday night heavy rain collapsed mobile towers and in Banjar Ghar two electric poles collapsed. In Berhampur near Hiradhakandi-Kali temple area several electric wires were cut due to the fall of a tower.

CONCLUSION
The month of May that exhibited several Gravity Waves resulted in the Earthquake on 21 May 2014 that struck at Odisha Coast but below 6 Km sand coverage. The site was a bit surprising since it was not a seismic prone area. This is an important and significant finding of the author that Gravity waves do precede the occurrence of Earth Tremors. Again his remarkable observation is that the Earth Quake was fully protected away by the 6 km sand cover near Odisha State and the spread out tremor splash extended from Madras State to Delhi area.
