September 4, 2018, 03:58pm ET: Using color filters, and the first to show a complete view of the top of Saturn down to about 70 degrees latitude. Spanning about 20,000 miles (30,000 km) across, the hexagon is a wavy jet stream of 200-mile-per-hour winds (about 322 km per hour) with a massive, rotating storm at the center. There is no weather feature exactly, consistently like this anywhere else in the solar system. The hexagon is just a current of air, and weather features out there that share similarities to this are notoriously turbulent and unstable. Scientists suspect the stability of the hexagon has something to do with the lack of solid landforms on Saturn, which is essentially a giant ball of gas. They saw the storm around the pole, as well as small vortices rotating in the opposite direction of the hexagon. Some of the vortices are swept along with the jet stream as if on a racetrack. The largest of these vortices spans about 2,200 miles (3,500 km), or about twice the size of the largest hurricane recorded on Earth. Infrared mapping spectrometer is also tooled Cassini scientists can use to look at wind speeds and the mini-storms inside the jet stream. Bizarre Hexagon on Saturn may be 180 Miles Tall. But the bizarre structure actually extends about 180 miles (300 km) above those cloud tops, up into the stratosphere, at least during the northern spring and summer.

Sep 04, 2018: Chanting techniques: The four main groups of Vedic texts are the Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva Vedas. Each of them has different sakhas, recensions, of which many are extinct. In Patanjali’s time, there were a total of 1,131recensions. Today, only 13 remain, and among them, some oral traditions have been lost. Seven musical notes of the Samaveda — sadja, gandhara, madhyama, paricama, dhaivata and nisada — remain latent in other Vedas among the three accents. The science of music evolved from the Samaveda whose chanting tradition has to be preserved intact as it is the source of Indian music. In the performing arts, the Vedas are connected vividly as pathya, recitation, from the Rigveda; gita, music, from the Samaveda; abhinaya, acting, from the Yajurveda; and rasa, aesthetic sentiment, from the Atharvaveda. Vedas reflect the original ultimate sound — eternal, all-pervading and indestructible. Vedic mantras are not only rich in meaning, but also in sound, something that is acquired from oral tradition. The sound of mantras reaches our ears in two ways: as a vibration of ether and as the vibration of air. The Vibration of ether can only be realized by one whose body’s internal vibration bears the unstruck sound (anahata-nada). The second kind of sound is produced from vibrations in the air. It is audible and is realized by the chanter of Vedic mantras at the vaikhari stage resulting in a struck sound (ahata-nada), and by those who listen to the same due to the eternal vibrative power of throbbing in chanting. Such chanting has the power to heal.4 September 2018: Tuesday, 17:34, UK, Emergency declared as Tropical Storm Gordon heads for Gulf Coast. September 07, 2018 17:34 IST: PULSARS DISCOVERY: In 1967, Bell Burnell alerted her Ph.D. supervisor, Antony Hewish to an "unclassifiable squiggle" on the readout from the radio telescope that she was in charge of monitoring. It was the kind of detail that others might have disregarded or overlooked. "The source didn't seem to be man-made - it was moving around with the stars, keeping pace with the constellations," she told The Guardian in 2009. "We estimated it was 200 light years away, far beyond the sun and planets, but still within our galaxy, the Milky Way." As a joke, they labeled it LGM-1, which stood for "Little Green Men." When Bell Burnell returned to the observatory at 3 a.m. on a freezing cold December night, she had what she called a "Eureka!" moment. "Wading through miles of the chart, I discovered two more of the mysterious signals," she told The Guardian. "I had, it transpired, discovered the first four examples of an unimagined kind of star - bizarre astral bodies that transmitted radio beams as they spun, which swept through space like the ray of a lighthouse. We called them pulsars."

While experiments to extend a cable in space have been conducted before, the new Japanese experiment will be the first test to move a car-like container on a cable in space. If the experiment is successful, it could significantly boost interest in the space-elevator transportation system, a concept that many people still doubt is plausible.

September 7, 2018, 06:18pm ET: Japanese Space-Elevator Experiment Launching to Space Station. The materials for the experiment, which was developed by researchers at the Shizuoka University Faculty of Engineering, will launch to the space station Monday (Sept. 10) on the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's next Kounotori cargo ship, H-IIB Vehicle No. 7. It is scheduled to launch from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan's Kagoshima prefecture at 6:32 p.m. EDT (2232 GMT) on Monday, though it will be early Tuesday morning (Sept. 11) local time at the launch site. While experiments to extend a cable in space have been conducted before, the new Japanese experiment will be the first test to move a car-like container on a cable in space. If the experiment is successful, it could significantly boost interest in the space-elevator transportation system, a concept that many people still doubt is plausible.
