A team of astronomers has discovered that the closest known brown dwarf, Luhman 16A, shows signs of cloud bands similar to those seen on Jupiter and Saturn. An idea put-forth nearly two decades ago by Indian Astrophysicist Sujan Sengupta who is at Indian Institute of Astrophysics at Bengaluru that the light emitted by a cloudy brown dwarf, or reflected off an extra-solar planet, will be polarized. He suggested that a polarimetric technique could serve as a potential tool to probe the environment of these objects.

Combined with other observational data, the new image is revealing more about the gas giant’s epic storms and an odd feature seen in its Great Red Spot. Gemini visualized Jupiter at resolutions reaching 500 km (300 miles), on a planet measuring 139,820 km (86,880 miles) wide and an average distance of 778 million km from Earth (484 million miles).

May, 10, 2020: It rained with thunder and lightning from 11:49 PM to 1:49 AM and cooled Visakhapatnam town from the scotching heat and sultry weather. Thunderstorm and lightening over state in the next 48 hours: IMD has forecast thunderstorms over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada till Tuesday. The thunderstorm activity will mainly be concentrated on May 10 and May 11 in most of the districts. But Vidarbha has reported hot day conditions since April-end, when the mercury soared to 45C.

People who returned found their houses smelling and returned away and some other houses are being repainted to ward off the evil affects of the styrene deposits. 13 k tonnes of styrene is being shifted away to South Korea. Even at Narasimha Ashram at Maharanipeta the affect of the Gas was felt with slight irritation of eyes.
