Sept. 01, 2021: The Milky Way, home to our Solar System and a myriad of stars, also has unique cosmic objects that are neither stars nor planets. Astronomers have now estimated that these unique objects, dubbed as brown dwarfs, might be lurking in our home galaxy in larger numbers than previously estimated. A chance discovery of an object in the distant sky has left astronomers to look for new explanations of these brown dwarfs that are like stars but don't have enough mass to kickstart nuclear fusion, the process that causes stars to shine. Astronomers tracked WISEA J153429.75-104303.3 nicknamed "The Accident" to understand this mysterious phenomenon.

Navigation’ may have originated in India 6,000 years ago. dnawebdesk@gmail.com (DNA Web Desk)  14 hours ago. However, the science of navigation took thousands of years to perfect and reach a point where large ships with giant sails and hundreds of men can chart their course aided by celestial maps and knowledge of climate, tides and currents. In fact, one of the earliest documented histories of navigation come from those that found their way around the Indus River more than 5-6000 years ago.with the people of the Indus Valley Civilisation who traded with the Mesopotamian Civilisation. The Vedic records suggest that Indian merchants had trade contacts in the far east and Arabia. There is certain evidence of a ‘Naval Department’ existing during the Mauryan period.A wonderous specimen of Indian ingenuity is said to be the 14th Century Astrolabe called the ‘Yantraraja’ or ‘King of Instruments’ which is housed in the Geneva Museum of Science. This instrument was used to navigate the high-seas and is of Indo-Moroccan origin with Sanskrit inscriptions.  The word 'navigation' is said to have originated from the Sanskrit language, and arises from the Sanskrit word ‘navgatih’. The word 'navy' comes from the word ‘nov’.
Sept. 02, 2021: Scientists Convert Walking On Wood Floor Into Electricity To Power Lightbulbs. Bharat Sharma  2 hours ago. Wooden flooring may be the next big energy source, if scientists from Switzerland behind the energy-harvesting device are to be trusted. With silicone coating and embedded nanocrystals, Swiss scientists were able to produce enough electricity to power small electronic items and LED lightbulbs. The nanogenerator was created by placing two pieces of wood between electrodes. When one steps on the wood, a phenomenon called the "triboelectric effect" occurs, wherein the pieces of wood become electrically charged. In this process, electrons jump from one object to another, producing electricity in the process.
Sept. 03, 2021:  India to set up Indegenious Nuclear Reactors to boost solar power. Vijay Thakur  2 hours ago. India is soon going to have over a dozen domestically built Pressurized heavy water nuclear reactor to meet its energy requirement specially to balance voltage in the grid against due to solar power generation. Since Solar power generation is there only during day time and its voltage keeps fluctuating depending upon the intensity of the solar radiation, there is a serious need to balance power supply to the grid. The solution would come from Nuclear energy, which would help in bridging the gap, said a senior officer of the Power Ministry. The indigenously developed nuclear power plants would help in ensuring steady power supply to the grid against intermittent renewable energy generation, he said. The country made 700-megawatt pressurized heavy water reactor of the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station is the first of 16 planned units that will help balance the grid against growing intermittent renewable generation, said a senior officer of the Atomic Energy Ministry. The Centre has already given approval and financial sanction for construction of 10 such indigenous 700 MW Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) that would be set up in a fleet mode.
Sept. 04, 2021: Beetal Leaves (Tamalapakulu) after the meals in the form of Thambulam, the mouth becomes red and helps to digest the food taken. Thamalapakulu has antioxydentals and prevents getting old.  Dangerous fats (kovulu) effects it reduces. In the body bacteria growth is prevented, since the leaves have the Chevikal medicine.  Excessive bloodpressure people also can eat these leaves. The calcium  and the Sunnam in the tamalapakulu the body gets showshichikunala the vakkapodi extracts the lalajalam helps the digestion. Beetal leaves helps to reduce excessive weight when taken with Mirialu. Seven leaves with salt and water joined ground as a fine paste everyday taken the changes maybe noticed. Beetal leves juice, Munagaku juice, Ganneru juice, Darasni pattha, honey mixed applied on eyes the Kallakalanaka gets reduced. The cough also get reduced.  The heart kappam gets reduced if tamalapakulu and castor oil applied on the chest. Malabhadhakam in children if it arises then castor oil immersed thamalapakula juice reduces enimia.  People who become angry for no reason should take Thamalapakulu juice mixed with honey. Warts on the face can be reduced if the tamalapakulu boiled in one-fourth liter water, and ground like a paste and applied on the face. After 15 minutes with hot water they should clean the face, this devoids of the warts on the face. If thamalapakulu eaten then the the drieness in the body gets reduced. Charakarasam and Shukruthasamihita described these benefits of Tamalapakulu.

Sept. 05, 2021: Egg and math: introducing a universal formula for egg shape. Valeriy G Narushin 1 2Michael N Romanov 3Darren K Griffin 3

  • Abstract. The egg, as one of the most traditional food products, has long attracted the attention of mathematicians, engineers, and biologists from an analytical point of view. As a main parameter in oomorphology, the shape of a bird's egg has, to date, escaped a universally applicable mathematical formulation. Analysis of all egg shapes can be done using four geometric figures: sphere, ellipsoid, ovoid, and pyriform (conical or pear-shaped). The first three have a clear mathematical definition, each derived from the expression of the previous, but a formula for the pyriform profile has yet to be derived. To rectify this, we introduce an additional function into the ovoid formula. The subsequent mathematical model fits a completely novel geometric shape that can be characterized as the last stage in the evolution of the sphere-ellipsoid-Hügelschäffer's ovoid transformation, and it is applicable to any egg geometry. The required measurements are the egg length, maximum breadth, and diameter at the terminus from the pointed end. This mathematical analysis and description represents the sought-for universal formula and is a significant step in understanding not only the egg shape itself, but also how and why it evolved, thus making widespread biological and technological applications theoretically possible. Keywords: Hügelschäffer's model; egg geometry; egg shape; oomorphology; pyriform ovoid; universal formula.. © 2021 New York Academy of Sciences.
