Introduction:

The Visakhapatnam weather was very uncertain and irregular during the week of 8th October to 15th October of 2010 and caused several people to fall sick of its vagaries’. Most of the nights were very cloudy and no good Astronomy observations could be made. But few moments of clear sky allowed some images to be captured. The sky due to the change of the weather cloud patterns offered different sky environment and on the 14th October night the Moon was 90% covered by the thick cloud blanket. The Jupiter couldn’t be spotted at all. It rained continuously from the night till the afternoon of 15th October 2010. The heavy rains of this month were a bit unusual. The sky on 16th October 2010 morning time has somewhat cleared though it was full of passing clouds in striated formations of patchy patterns. The images of (Hunter: Mrigasira: The Head Visible) the Orion constellation captured shows vividly these clouds.

Several images were captured with both the Canon IXUS Digital Camera of 14.2MP and as well the Nokia 2700 Classic Mobile Camera of 2MP. The following six images Fig Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 depict the different weather conditions that prevailed in Visakhapatnam during the second week of October 2010 month along with the stars visible through the cloudy sky.
