 ABSTRACT
                 17 May 2017: The weather in Visakhapatnam has improved and the tap water is only 40 to 45C while last fortnight it was almost 70-75C. Heat islands identified as Maddilapalem, Jagadamba Centre, NAD junction, Anandapuram, Gajuwaka, Gopalapatnam, Visakhapatnam Airport, Kancharapalem, Isukathota, Thatichetlapalem, Vepagunta, Pendurthi, Simhachalam, Thagarapuvalasa, and Anakapalli.  Anshu Jamsenpa 37-yrs old a mother of two kids, scales Everest 4th time, hosting the National Flag handed over to her by Dalai Lama, reached summit at 9AM IST (9.15AM by  Nepal Time). Visakhapatnam witnessed 94 heatwaves, of which 63 were moderate, 31 were very severe, over a period of 50 years, between 1951 and 2000. At least 30 heatwaves were experienced in Visakhapatnam, said SS Devi. Dr.Suhasini Kotcherlakota USA Nebraska published her M.Sc. project way back from AU, stating Siripuram Junction of Visakhapatnam as the hottest place in Visakhapatnam.  On 18 May 2017, Masula experienced 47.3C about 9 degrees higher, the port town and Krishna district were puffing and panting on Thursday. The high temperature coupled with excessive humidity and became very unbearable for the residents. The night was no less torrid and mercury plunged around 36-38C. Wednesday it recorded 44.5C. A deviation of 9.5C the weather experts asserted. After 1868 this was the temperature recorded in Machilipatnam. About 50 people died during the last 48 hours as per unconfirmed reports due to the heat. About 90 Mandals are experiencing the heatwaves on Wednesday, 17 May 2017. Another 111 Mandals have a moderate heatwave conditions. Several cites might experience 48C the SUMA warns. Rohini karthe has not finished of its turn, but a scooter and a pounding role have burst and broken down while the scooter has burnt off. One TVS scooter has also burnt in Vinoba Nagar luckily the duo left the scooter burning away the costly clothes and Rs.3000\-. In Tirupati the twin lightnings with many branches thrilled the people. Between 4 PM to 5 PM the thunderbolts struck: Tirumala, Chandragiri, Mittapalem, Veerana Mala, Lingasamudram experienced thunder showers and few thunderbolts. In Edo period (1603 to 1867), there were well over 1000 temples dedicated to Kangiten. Business people prayed the deity to remove obstacles. Not only day time but also during nights, the intense heatwaves survived. More than three to four degrees excess temperature was recorded. Scattered light to moderate rain was observed over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. While isolated showers were witnessed by Jammu and Kashmir, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana. Isolated rains occurred over West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, and North Interior Karnataka Light to moderate rain occurred at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Scattered light to moderate rains with isolated heavy showers was observed over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand. Heatwave persisted at a few places over Interior Odisha, Vidarbha and isolated over Chhattisgarh. 24 May 2017: There was a slight shower very slow, but with big water drops for almost two hours around 6.30 PM in Visakhapatnam. 25 May 2017: The Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. An induced cyclonic circulation is over Punjab and adjoining areas. Another cyclonic circulation is over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan. The cyclonic circulation over Rayalaseema and adjoining areas persist. Another cyclonic circulation is seen over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas and a trough is extending up to Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Interior Odisha. Another cyclonic circulation is over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. 26 May 2017: After 7.00PM till 8.30PM: Visakha Zillah Gudem Kotha veedhi had hail stones storm.Paderu received heavy rain for about one and half hours, on Friday afternoon around 3 PM, with heavy winds. G.K.veedhi most affected. Hail stones have fallen. 91 lives have been lost and nearly 50,000 people across 13 districts have been affected on Friday, 26 May. 8000 evacuated from Kalutara a coastal city which is among the worst hit. 27 May 2017: Thunderbolts created a havoc in Prakasam and Kadapa districts many places in AP, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra recorded rainfall on Saturday too. About 7 cm in Chintalapudi, Proddutur and Kadapa districts followed by Bobbili of Vizianagaram, Jammalamadugu, Kuppam recorded 6 cm, Veeraghattam recorded 5 cm, Balajipeta 4 cm, Khammam 9 cm, Sathupalli 8 cm, Proddatur 7 cm, Jammalamadugu and Kuppam 6 cm and many places in Guntur, Krishna, Chittoor, Anantapur, received 2 cm rainfall. Highest temperature of 44C recorded at Jangamaheswarapuram. Upper air circulation located at 5.8 km above sea mean level would be a depression in next 24 hours. Upper air circulation over north interior Karnataka and south Maharashtra at 0.9 km above mean sea level. 27 MAY 2017: 11:23AM: French wine growers are desperately hoping for a June bloom to save their harvest after a late freeze in April destroyed up to 90 per cent of some Bordeaux vines. Producers frantically tried to battle the unseasonal cold snap by lighting fires in oil drums, carefully positioned between the rows, in an attempt to stop vines freezing at night. They also used giant fans to stop cold damp air from settling on the plants. Emergency services flew helicopters over vineyards in another, equally unsuccessful attempt to battle freezing condensation. On 27 May 2017, About 11 people died in Odisha due to sunstroke. 28 May 2017: In Odisha, sunstroke toll climbed to 12 in Odisha even as rains triggered by the depression over the Bay of Bengal. At least 23 people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike and wall collapse triggered by squall in Bihar today, even as hot weather conditions continued in many parts of the country. Of the 18 people killed in incidents of lightning strike in eight districts of Bihar. Heatwave continued unabated in Haryana and Punjab with Hisar being the hottest place in the two states, recording a maximum of 43.2C.  Churu was the hottest place in the state, with a maximum of 47C, followed by 45.6C in Pilani and 44.6C in Sriganganagar. The mercury in Bikaner and Kota settled at 44.5C and 44.4C respectively. Heatwave conditions also prevailed at a few places in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region. In Himachal Pradesh, hailstorm and rain lashed Shimla and its surrounding areas affecting normal life. Una was hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 39.2C. On Monday 29 May 2017 the city of Visakhapatnam was pretty hot even around 7.30 PM. The During the lost seven days the city was drenched in the rainwaters and plagued by the frothing from Bangalore lakes and covered the roads troubling people.  Tuesday 30 May 2017; morning as the storm continues its destructive path across the Bay of Bengal. Country ports were warned to expect sea surges of up to two metres, with neighbouring India's north eastern states also on alert for heavy rains

16 May 2017: Began with a cloudy weather in Visakhapatnam.
From morning 7 AM the sun heatwaves are excelling till late in the evening and today and tomorrow the heatwaves would continue. Rentachintala recorded 48C. On Tuesday, 16 May 2017, the temperatures recorded were, Guntur 46.7C(30C), Vijayawada 46.2C(30C), Jangameswara 46C, Kavali 45.6C, Ongole 45.3C, Prakasam 45.3(30.3C), Eluru 45.1C(29C), Rajahamundry 45C(27C), Nellore 44.9C(31.4C), Chittoor 44.5C(30.1C), Kadapa 43.2C(31.4C), Kurnool 43C(27.7C), Hyderabad 42.4C(28.7C), Vijayanagaram 41C(29C),Srikakulam 41C(28C), Ananatapuram 40.6C(28.4C), Machilipatnam 44.5C,Tirupati 44.5C, Nandyala 44C, Kakinada 40.6C, and Visakhapatnam 38C(29C). Till late night up to 10 PM the heatwaves are sustaining. Another two days the weather would be the same. Uncertain weather and hot conditions are resulting in Coastal and Rayalaseema districts occasional slight showers are occurring. But possible heat winds would blow in both these areas during the Tuesday and Wednesday. Till the onset of monsoon rains these Gales and Heatwaves would sustain in Andhra. Monkeys and birds trying to reach the water taps for the water are fainting away.
America NASA announced that in the last 137 years the April 2017 was the highest recorded temperature.  Sunstroke killed on Tuesday,16 May 2017 about 24 people in three districts of East Godavari (11people), Guntur (7 people), and Western Godavari (6 people).
16 May 2017 01:52 PM: INTENSE HEATWAVE GRIPS CHENNAI, LIGHT RAIN TO BRING SOME RELIEF. Chennai continues to battle intense heatwave conditions for the second consecutive day. There has been a sudden increase in the day temperatures by six degrees in last 48 hours. The Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir due to which scattered rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation also persists over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab and Haryana. A trough is also seen running from Central Pakistan to South Pakistan.  Due to this, rain and thundershowers with isolated dust storm are expected over Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR.Karnataka: Five were killed,due to lightning and mishaps, as rain lashes in north Karnataka, with heavy down pour, over the last two days May 14 and 15, 2017 inundating few villages, and spate in some streams. A boulder slid down a hill after lightning struck the rocky hills. During the last week gusty winds, thunder and lightning were rampant in  north Karnataka. Two people struck by lightning died on Sunday,in Gadag and Haveri districts. Five electric poles were damaged. Hubballi-Dharwad affected on Sunday.

Heat islands identified as Maddilapalem, Jagadamba Centre, NAD junction, Anandapuram, Gajuwaka, Gopalapatnam, Visakhapatnam Airport, Kancharapalem, Isukathota, Thatichetlapalem, Vepagunta, Pendurthi, Simhachalam, Thagarapuvalasa, and Anakapalli. 17 May 2017: The weather in Visakhapatnam drastically changed with the reduced intensity of Sun, but sweltering heat was dominant. Western hotwinds have contributed a lot for the coastal regions.North coastal region from Chhattisgarh upper winds the hot winds have somewhat reduced. But Niruthi in Andaman region has increased the hot winds.The hot winds resulted in death of about 51 people. Aged people are suffering from exhaustion. The workers in house construction and farming getting exhausted due to the severity of the Sun.Prakasam district accounted for 13 deaths. Many animals in zoo or otherwise being kept rejuvenated with sprinkling of water. Especially the hen flocks being kept with  the sprinkling of water. Many reservoirs getting drained to  the dead storage  levels. Gambeeram with maximum of  163 feet has now no water storage at all. Meghadri Gadda has only 47.8 feet against maximum of 61 feet. Mudasarlova reservoir has only 151.7 feet instead of maximum 169 feet. Reservoirs are not  being cleaned of the accumulated dust the  reason of their dwindling storage capacities of water. 
             In Telangana the heat wave has killed 12 people on Wednesday, 17 May and about 87 treated for sunstroke. Day temperatures ranged from 42 to 45C. About 1327 people were hospitalised. On Thursday Karimnagar sizzled at 45C. Ramachandrapuram recorded 46C.
18 May 2017: In Visakhapatnam Sagar Nagar beach road covered with moist air an unusual site, in the afternoon of 18 May 2017. It far excelled the smoky fog.

Even the trees lost their greenness in Guntur district due to the effect of severe sun. Near Narisipatnam Vemulapudi Kasireddypalem in the cultivating fields on two palm trees the thunder struck. In Ananatagiri on the top of hill a thunderbolt struck. Guduru jaladhanki mandal the thunderbolts struck. Santadasapalli one person died due to thunderbolt. In Nellore district due to whirlwinds about 100 electric poles collapsed. Manubol, and Kondapuram mandals shivered due to severe winds,thunders and lightnings. Jaladhanki Mandal chinnakak two buffaloes died due to lightning.
          Heatwave claimed 17 lives in 48 hours in the Andhra Pradesh. At lease for another two days the weather would be hot, humid and severe. About 50 people died during the last 48 hours as per unconfirmed reports due to the heat. About 90 Mandals are experiencing the heatwaves on Wednesday, 17 May 2017. Another 111 Mandals  have a moderate heat-wave conditions. Several cites might experience 48C the SUMA warns.  Tigers are cooling themselves in Sarthana National Park in Surat on Thursday,18 May.

 MAY 19, 2016, 11:25 PM: It's 51 Degrees C in Palodhi, Ahmedabad Breaks 100-Year-Old Record: Blistering heat torrefied north India with Palodhi in Rajasthan simmering at 51 degrees and the maximum in Ahmedabad shattering a century-old record even as the weatherman said cyclonic storm 'Roanu' is likely to bring heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha. In the East, officials said about 4,000 people were rendered homeless due to floods after torrential rains since Tuesday night at Dharmanagar in Tripura, while the arterial Assam-Agartala National Highway remained waterlogged, cutting the state off from the rest of the country.

In Srikakulam two people and about 50 people died due to heat in the state. Tirupur 47.05C, Kollipadu 47.43C, Achampet 47.23C, Kopperapadu  47.08C registered on 19 May 2017. More than rayalseema the temperatures recorded at Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore are very high. Gulf of Marbun coast upper atmosphere moving away so the onset of monsoon rains in Kerala and India may be delayed. 
WEATHER IN INDIA: It was sizzling in Chennai. Light Rain affected North India. Delhi weather turned out to be very pleasant. Rain and Dust storm in Rajasthan. No relief of hot weather in Hyderabad. Bangalore is endowed with rains. Warning of excess heat till 23 May.
MAY 20, 2016, 4:09 PM:RED ALERT IN RAJASTHAN AS MERCURY TOUCHES 51 DEGREES:  Palodhi in Rajasthan simmered at 51 degrees on Thursday. "It is very difficult to cope with the heat. We are using fans and coolers to cope up," a resident said.
       20 May 2017: From the morning the sun was blazing hot in Visakhapatnam but by evening it was cloudy and sprinkling rain cooled the atmosphere, and people were able to move around and in the beach people enjoyed the waves. Gusty winds were present but not heavy winds. Last four days Vijayawada, Bapatla, the temperatures were very high, but on 20 May they reduced slightly. North coastal districts had rains on Saturday evening. Fearing the thunderbolt strike in Ananthapuram, in the Brahma Sea, in Some Tadepalli Mandal, a boy of 18 years died. In Penugonda mandal near Sattar-palli, the lightning bolt killed one tiller. In Vijayanagaram Pulubuchimpeta village the thunderbolt burnt 11 grass-houses and about 40 animals were killed.The sun stroke has killed about 36 people in Krishna, Guntur, and in both Godavari districts. Severe heatwaves have taken life of 12 people in Guntur.
ISRO announced that 51 degrees may be crossed in East-Godavari Zillah, and about 50 Mandals would be affected informed on Saturday 20 May 2017, by the collector Kartikeya Misra.

Kangiten is creator of obstacles and offering radishes (white daikon in Japanese). He also accepts sweet rice buns, and a cup of sake or rice wine. Chelpuru, Dhulapally, Kundarapalli and Kopalle  registered 49C. Until Friday, temperature at Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh was recorded at a maximum of 47.3 degrees Celsius, while Bhadrachalam, Ramagundam and Nalgonda registered maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius. In Telangana, more than 150 people are suspected to have died due to sunstroke. 
23 May 2017: Two days less heat in Telugu states, on Tuesday again the heatwaves (vadagadpulu in Telugu)  resumed and Vijayawada are registered 45C, In Telangana, Coastal towns in Andhra and Rayalseema the hot gales have increased. Not only day time but also during nights, the intense heatwaves survived. More than three to four degrees excess temperature was recorded. After 27 of this month the heatwaves would survive in central and north-coastal districts as per a report of ISRO. Scattered light to moderate rain was observed over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. While isolated showers were witnessed by Jammu and Kashmir, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana. Isolated rains occurred over West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, and North Interior Karnataka Light to moderate rain occurred at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Scattered light to moderate rains with isolated heavy showers was observed over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand. In the south, light to moderate rains occurred over South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Heatwave persisted at a few places over Interior Odisha, Vidarbha and isolated over Chhattisgarh.
24 May 2017: There was a slight shower very slow, but with  big water drops for almost two hours. The weather has become quite cool and continued in the morning 25 May till 9 AM.
25 May 2017: The Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. An induced cyclonic circulation is over Punjab and adjoining areas. Another cyclonic circulation is over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan. The cyclonic circulation over Rayalaseema and adjoining areas persist. Another cyclonic circulation is seen over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas and a trough is extending up to Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Interior Odisha. Another cyclonic circulation is over the Southeast Bay of Bengal.

RAINFALL: Guntur 4.9, Krishna 13.8, Prakasam 10, Srikakulam 6, Visakhapatnam 7.2, Vizianagaram 16.8, West Godavari 8.4, sub-divisional rainfall 7.1, Anantapur 11.3, Chittoor 14.9, Cuddapah 14.6, Kurnool 7.5, Sub-terrain rainfall 11.9 (all in cm). Visakha, Kurnool and Prakasam Zillah experienced stunning weather with heavy gales and rainfall devastating. Many trees about 20 fallen down, in Reddi palli many houses, almost six houses, lost the top layers of covering metallic sheets. Marjuru recorded 45.3C. Sudden rainfall resulted in many areas the hail stones devastation. Pothavaram one buffalo killed, Chidambarampalli sheep guard Galayya and  Korlamadugu village lady Magamma died due to fall off thunderbolts on them. Srisailam very big trees have fallen down. Rudravaram mandal Narsmma belonging to Narasapuram died due to thunderbolt.
Paderu received heavy rain for about one and half hours, on Friday afternoon around 3 PM, with heavy winds. G.K.veedhi most affected. Hail stones have fallen.

Thiruvannamalai  Zillah had severe rainfall and had several hail stone rainfall. Thalvanayagunpeta one rice mill struck by hailstone the building collapsed. Five lady workers and one male died due to the thunderbolt strike. Another seven were injured.
HEAT IN ANDHRA AND TELANGANA: Surprisingly six people died in Nellore due to heatstroke. Since last one week buses are being provided with cooling water for passengers. Steering is getting  heated and drivers find it tough to drive. Carpets have been spread out on the hill of Durgamma Gudi in Vijayawada, for people to walk on them to reach the Goddess. Western Godavari Ganapavaram recorded 47 degrees. Several places the heat islands are getting formed. From March to May this year the Sun heat is very dominant. Sun traversing the southern hemisphere to northern hemisphere Sun reaches on March 23, arrives at the Earth Middle line. Northern sun at the time of May stands on the top and rays of the sun touch the Earth and people in India describe the severity of the Sun as responsible for the broken rock grinders. Rohini karthe survives for 14 days beginning from May 25. The summer heat would increases since Sun would be very near the Earth.  Jyestha and Ashada months began on 25 May and people feel suffocating hot weather. Hopefully the second summer heat wouldn't occur this year but no guarantee.  Almanac people  in India have identified these days eons ago. 
LANDSLIDES AND FLOODS IN SRI lANKA
             91 lives have been lost and  nearly 50,000 people across 13 districts have been affected on Friday, 26 May. 8000 evacuated from Kalutara a coastal city which is among the worst hit. Two ships India sent with relief material and sent medical teams.  Death toll increased report 29 May 2017.
27 May 2017: Thunderbolts created a havoc in Prakasam and Kadapa districts many places in AP, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra recorded rainfall on Saturday too. About 7 cm in Chintalapudi, Proddutur and Kadapa districts followed by Bobbili of Vizianagaram, Jammalamadugu, Kuppam recorded 6 cm, Veeraghattam recorded 5 cm, Balajipeta 4 cm, Khammam 9 cm, Sathupalli 8 cm, Proddatur 7 cm, Jammalamadugu and Kuppam 6 cm and many places in Guntur, Krishna, Chittoor, Anantapur, received 2 cm rainfall. Highest temperature of 44C recorded at Jangamaheswarapuram. Upper air circulation located at 5.8 km above sea mean level would be a depression in next 24 hours. 
             Upper air circulation over north interior  karnataka and south Maharashtra at 0.9 km above mean sea level. 
27 MAY 2017: 11:23AM: French wine growers are desperately hoping for a June bloom to save their harvest after a late freeze in April destroyed up to 90 per cent of some Bordeaux vines. Producers frantically tried to battle the unseasonal cold snap by lighting fires in oil drums, carefully positioned between the rows, in an attempt to stop vines freezing at night. They also used giant fans to stop cold damp air from settling on the plants. Emergency services flew helicopters over vineyards in another, equally unsuccessful attempt to battle freezing condensation.
28 May  2017: BIHAR: At least 23 people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike and wall collapse triggered by squall in Bihar today, even as hot weather conditions continued in many parts of the country. In Bihar, at least 23 people, including eight women, were killed in separate lightning and rain-related incidents. Eighteen persons were killed after lightning struck them across eight districts, while five persons were killed in separate incidents of wall collapse during a storm that blew at a speed of 50-70 km per hour in different panchayat areas of the West Champaran district of the state. Of the 18 people killed in incidents of lightning strike in eight districts, five persons were killed in East Champaran, four in Jamui, one in West Champaran, two each in Munger, Bhagalpur and Madhepura and one each in Vaishali and Samastipur districts.
ODISHA: Meanwhile, sunstroke toll climbed to 12 in Odisha even as rains triggered by the depression over the Bay of Bengal and a nor'wester in some areas brought respite from scorching heat. Two more deaths were reported in Sambalpur and Bargarh district since yesterday. With this, four heat-related deaths have been reported from Sambalpur, while three deaths each took place in Angul and Bargarh districts and one each in Balangir and Bhadrak. The mercury breached the 40-degree mark in only four places in the state. Angul was the hottest place, recording a maximum of 42.1C while Hirakud registered a high of 40.8C. 
HARYANA AND PUNJAB:Heatwave continued unabated in Haryana and Punjab with Hisar being the hottest place in the two states, recording a maximum of 43.2C. In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 39.3C, while in Ludhiana and Patiala the maximum temperatures were 38.5C and 37.6C respectively. Rajasthan too reeled under hot weather conditions with the mercury settling above the 43C mark in most parts of the state. However, maximum temperatures saw a dip by one to two degrees in comparison to yesterday. Churu was the hottest place in the state, with a maximum of 47C, followed by 45.6C in Pilani and 44.6C in Sriganganagar.The mercury in Bikaner and Kota settled at 44.5C and 44.4C respectively. Heatwave conditions also prevailed at a few places in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region.
SIMLA AND HIMACHALPRADESH: In Himachal Pradesh, hailstorm and rain lashed Shimla and its surrounding areas affecting normal life. Una was hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 39.2C, followed by Nahan at 35.5C, Sundernagar at 33.7C, Bhuntar 33.6C and Dharamsala 32.4C. 
SOUTH INDIA: Rainfall also occurred in parts of Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

29 May 2017:The death toll from floods and landslides in Sri Lanka has risen to 169, with close to half a million people displaced. 
North Eastern States in India: Bangladesh is now braced for Cyclone Mora to make landfall early Tuesday morning as the storm continues its destructive path across the Bay of Bengal.The country's ports were warned to expect sea surges of up to two metres, with neighbouring India's north eastern states also on alert for heavy rains.
29 May 2017: Even at 7.30PM in Visakhapatnam it was hot a peculiar condition, the coastal AP predicted to have the temperature rise.
BANGALORE: During the lost seven days the city was drenched in the rainwaters and plagued by the frothing from Bangalore lakes and covered the roads troubling people. 
30 May 2017: 5 hours ago: Moscow storm: 11 killed as high winds strike Russian capital. At least 11 people died when a severe thunderstorm hit the Russian capital Moscow, it would be the deadliest storm in the city for more than 100 years. The winds of up to 110 km/h (70 mph) were described by meteorologists as extremely rare for the city, and caused structural damage to buildings.
30 May 2017: Cyclone Mora has hit Bangladesh, lashing the country's south-eastern coast with heavy rain and winds. The powerful storm made landfall on Tuesday, morning between the fishing port of Cox's Bazar and the city of Chittagong, with winds of up to 117 km/h (73 mph), More than one million people moved to shelters. Parts of India and Myanmar are also expected to be affected.
ANDHRA PRADESH: Visakhapatnam city sizzled at 42.5C on Tuesday. Arkabadra village registered maximum temperature of 45.4C, in Korlam 45C, Budumuru 44C, Tuni 44C. The heat was unbearable as residents endured a torrid weather coupled with high humidity in Vijayawada with 42.8C. Vijayanagaram touching 43C. Heatwave conditions would prevail. We expect dry weather conditions to continue for three to four days and pre-Monsoon rains will remain subdued over Rayalaseema as well as coastal Andhra Pradesh till June 4.   
An ancient cave village: Iran's ancient village of Maymand, located around 900 km south of the capital Tehran, is littered with troglodytic dwellings ‒ cavernous, underground homes carved out of soft rock. Stone engravings found at the site are estimated to be more than 10,000 years old. 

Wednesday, May 31, 2017 - 12:12: Indian Naval Ship Sumitra that was rushed for rescue operations to Bangladesh's Chittagong that was hit by cyclone Mora, has rescued 18 persons so far. The search and rescue operation was taking place 90 miles south of Chittagong. Cyclone Mora had earlier caused havoc in Sri Lanka, killing at least 180.
