water and carbon nitrides
The INST team employed the low-cost organic semiconductor in carbon nitrides which can be prepared using cheaper precursors like urea and melamine at ease in a kilogram scale, said a senior officer of the DST. His team has developed a prototype reactor that operates under natural sunlight to produce hydrogen at a larger scale (around 6.1 L in 8 hours). They have used an earth-abundant chemical called carbon nitrides as a catalyst for the purpose. The reactor is about 1 metre square, and the photocatalyst was coated in the form of panels where water flow is maintained. Upon natural sunlight irradiation, hydrogen production occurs and is quantified through gas chromatography. The team is in the process of optimising the hydrogen production with effective sunlight hours in addition to the purity of the hydrogen, moisture traps, and gas separation membranes so as to hyphenate with the fuel cells. Hydrogen generated in this manner can be used in many forms like electricity generation through fuel cells in remote tribal areas, hydrogen stoves, and powering small gadgets, to mention a few. Eventually, they can power the transformers and e-vehicles, which are long-term research goals under progress.

Rock art site found near Idupulapaya. They also found another cave situated 10.5 metres above the ground level with a narrow platform. “The drawing are found around the ground-level rock cave structures and on the ceiling of the upper-deck cave structure. It is a steep vertical rock climb to reach the upper plate. The route to upper plate was found marked by some artistic sketches as signs to identify steps,’’ experts said. The team found the pictures painted in Chanugondia village, ite, ochre material using brush technique. The paintings were on the rock at skirting level. “As most paintings are in open, they are exposed to elements,’’ the experts said, adding that they have also observed possible presence of megalithic burials in and around the rock shelter, which is covered under thick vegetation. Experts said megalithic practices existed in India for a long time, starting at about 1300 BC and continuing till about 200 BC. Found men wearing knifes, riding on horses, and nandipada named cows images. In Kurnool district a dolmenoid cist (burial chamber) found at Chanugondia village. It is 3.40 meters in length and 2.30 meters in width with a porthole had a width of 60cm and height of 80 cm believed to release the soul of the deceased. The team came across one beautifully polished and finished triangular celt that measured 15cm in length 9 cm in width at the sharp edge and the butt-end was 2cm.

Soumya Kalasa  12 hours ago: 90 cashews nuts of this variety makes a kg while other breeds need 160 nuts to reach a kilo. This reduces the amount of labor for harvest and processing to half. “The new variety can save around Rs 16,000 a ton on labour cost and fetch a premium of Rs 10,000 for bigger size of nut yield. Hence farmers can earn an additional revenue of Rs 26,000 for every ton of cashew cultivated. Also this is a very profitable breed since it survives well and maintains yield under rain fed horticultural crops."

India Today Web Desk - 8h ago.Astronomers have detected a rare object cruising in the solar system through the main asteroid belt which could be both an asteroid and a comet. The object is just eight out of more than half a million known main-belt asteroids, which is confirmed to have been active on more than one occasion. The unique object was discovered to be active in July 2021 by the Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) survey. In a paper presented at the 53rd annual meeting of the American Astronomical Society's Division for Planetary Sciences, the lead author Henry Hsieh said that the object can be thought of as both an asteroid and a comet, or more specifically, a main-belt asteroid that has just recently been recognized to also be a comet.

Early 20th century prints of godess Saraswathi, show her as of two hands. But oldest Shiva lingam Gudimallam, Andhra Pradesh dated to 300 CE, showes Shiva with two arms only. The earlier  images of Hindu Gods are found in coins. Indo-Greek coins from 200BCE have images of Krishna holding a wheel and he is two=armed. The transformation of two-armed Lakshmi into four armed Lakshmi happened in the Gupta period nearly 1700 years ago, when old vedic way reinforced in power by redefining itself through the Puranas, and pushed back on Buddhist popularity. In Mathura art, we find the earliest, images of Saraswathi, from Jain site, seated with a book in her hand but she has only two arms. All earliest Indian art comes from Harappa where we have images of men meditating, resolving conflicts. All human characters have only two arms, nearly after 2000 years after the Harappan period we have the evolved Gandharam, and Mathura art, (mostly Buddhist), reciting folk tales inspired by Jataka tales. The earliest Hindu iconography showing a four armed Vishnu has been found in Malhar in Madhya Pradesh, dating to 100BCE. Sweden: Number of Islands: 267,570. Note: 3 percent of Sweden's land area consists of islands. Sweden has nearly 270 000 islands. Most of the islands are in Norrbotten County, followed by Stockholm County and Västra Götaland County. 38 percent of all the islands are situated in the seas (sea islands). Stockholm County has the largest share of sea islands, 93 percent. The land area amounts to 1.2 million hectares. This corresponds to 3 percent of the total land area of Sweden. Sweden's largest island is Gotland, which has a land area of nearly 300 000 hectares (3 000 km2) and a perimeter of 800 kilometres. Sweden's second largest island is Öland.Attended International Seminar for Research and Education, and has been given free transport to my country India, right upto the city Visakhapatnam, enroute made several stop overs to see the countries like England, France, Egypt, and other countries by gracious help of Swedish Professors and people of that magnanimous country. Oct.13, 2021: Mysterious Signals From Milky Way Galaxy's Centre Are Confusing Scientists. Bharat Sharma  8 hours ago. A strange set of radio waves emanating from the centre of Milky Way are confusing scientists. The signals from our galaxy's centre do not give off the characteristics of any known space object. Researchers from the University of Sydney detected a light formation in Milky Way's centre six times between January and September, 2020.Every time the signals were of different size and rotating at a constant rate. No, it's not aliens (that we know of)! Scientists believe that the signals could be coming from a new type of space object, like a new star.Even then, scientists are not sure. The object gives off mixed signals. For instance, it lacks the infrared wavelengths to qualify as a low-mass star, and doesn't have x-ray waves to be a magnetar.

Oct. 13, 2021: Huge architectural gems built deep into the Earth like inverted fortresses are scattered around India – and restoring them may be a solution to help the country's parched communities. An exquisitely carved maze of 3,500 steps, arranged in perfect symmetry, descends with geometrical precision to reach a well. Criss-crossed steps encircle the water on three sides, while the fourth side is adorned by a pavilion with embellished galleries and balconies. Built by Rajput ruler Raja Chanda during the 8th-9th Century, Chand Bawri in Abhaneri, Rajasthan, is India's largest and deepest stepwell. Extending down 13 floors, or 100ft (30m), into the ground, it is a captivating example of inverted architecture. Plunging into the earth, stepwells like Chand Bawri were built in drought-prone regions of India to provide water all year round, ensuring communities had access to vital water storage and irrigation systems.
